The Schofield Barracks Arts and Craft Center is a hidden gem on the US Army Base, Schofield Barracks. Some of the things they do consist of Custom Engraving, Laser Engraving, Framing, Pottery, and a Complete Wood shop. I mostly use the wood shop, but have used the other facilities as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The wood shop has just about every piece of equipment you could want for large projects and small. Definitely a place to go to make or get something for friends or family.

Came here for a Wounded Warrior Program function. We did a ceramic paint night here. It was so fun and simple! Just pick your ceramic piece from the shelves and paint! If you are making something that you eat or drink off of, you will have to ask them for the special paint. It will also have to be put in the kiln later to be picked up about a week later. They have tons of ceramic items to pick from. They have stuff for kids to pain and actually useful and cool things for adults to work with. I really enjoyed this place. It was very easy going here and the staff was friendly and helpful. They have various different events throughout the month: Wounded Warrior painting, mom and baby/kid art events, sewing, paint and sip (held at Tropics), and so much more. They are a cheap and easy way to express your artistic side and have some fun!

Lots of options, large space, organized workspace. Often wish the frequency of classes offered were more.

Framing a piece of artwork in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Our priest asked me to have his charcoal work framed. I thought, "Oh, no... I know nothing about art. I didn't even take Art 101 in college..." However, I accepted the assignment and knew that Pictures Plus in Kaka'ako had a good reputation, so I walked in and dropped off the print. After discussing with my dentist, she went back with me the next day to Pictures Plus to upgrade from plexiglass to Museum Quality Glass because this portrait of Bishop Larry Silva (Diocese of Honolulu) is a gift to the Bishop at his upcoming 50th Anniversary dinner. Kalani was the cashier who must have been amused at our conversation. He showed us different matting examples and we added on a gray mat to have as a border between the glass and the print. Wow. I learned a lot. The upgrades of matting and glass would be about $100 more. I told them that Father Adondee had a budget. My dentist offered to cover the difference, but Kalani said he would take care of it. Thank you so much! The work was supposed to be finished on Monday, April 28, but I got a call on Saturday, April 26 that it was ready! Thank you for finishing early! I appreciate the efficient service, free parking, beautiful environment, deep discount, and quality work! This is a gift that we're proud to present!

The prior photos of the front of the shop has changed significantly. I drove past the shop twice…read morebecause I was looking for an entrance just like the photo on here. There is a sign on the the door, but not as bold. There is also one parking spot at the front, but I missed it and parked in Parking Garage right next door. I had to venture out and find it, but I did and sharing the tips. It may be best to book an appointment as you will not want to walk-in and have to wait to be serviced if someone else is ahead or with a scheduled appointment. Luckily, I was there first thing and was taken as a walk-in. There are plenty of frames to choose from, and the guy who helped me was very informative in letting me make the best decision in what I wanted, and would put his input in, only when asked. But! What won me over was my canvas painting that was peeling would have costed me close to $700, and I was willing to pay, and the company could have easily just took my money and said nothing, but the man gave me the measurements and told me to go get a regular frame and just enjoy the picture while I could, as even in the frame, it would continue to peel. His honesty there won all my future business and recommendations to go with this business. Thank you all, and I can't wait to pick up my other frame and return with more!:)

Whether you're framing, artwork, certificates, or something sentimental, this is definitely the place to go. Local service with quality you can trust. Just a tip, if you're planning to have something custom framed, be sure to plan ahead, as orders can take 3 to 4 weeks to complete.

My husband unexpectedly passed away during the Xmas & NY's holidays. In planning his funeral, I…read morerealized I didn't have a nice formal picture of him for display next to his closed casket except his last military exit photo taken when he retired 10 years earlier. Jerry framed it with a double mat, museum glass & beautiful black wooden frame. Everyone said it was a beautiful picture & I even found fingerprints on the glass as people said they could not believe it had a glass over it. Jerry has done other framings for me which friends have admired. I have also ordered double mats to use with frames from Amazon for my diamond painting craze. I thought I could frame them with double mats purchased online. However Jerry charges the same as the online except I didn't have to pay for the outrageous shipping charges. I keep going back to Jerry for his fantastic framing & advice for more than 15 years.
