I'm so thankful for that, because if a close friend hadn't told me about this team and had both of her daughters enrolled, we probably never would have thought to join. What first attracted me to the team was the bright light, huge smile, and genuine heart of the wonderful coach and owner of 808 Cheer, Coach Britt. My daughter was only 7 years old when we started, back when practices were held at the Kapolei High School outdoor pavilion. I'll never forget Coach Britt always saying that one day she would have her own gym, in God's time. For the moment, she would say, "This is what we have, and we'll make the most of it." as the girls rolled up and put away mats. We stuck with her and the team through COVID, and when we came back, the growth for so many of our girls was incredible. Fast forward to today, we're now practicing in an amazing facility in Waipahu, and that gym she once talked about and prayed for has truly come to life. What I appreciate most is that tuition is very affordable, uniforms are reasonably and competitively priced, and there are no strange fundraising requirements or pressure to purchase extra things. Everything feels honest, family-oriented, and focused on the kids. 808 Cheer has truly been a blessing for our family, and we're grateful to be part of the journey.

Parking is limited in the front and can feel a bit sketchy, so I definitely recommend picking up your kids on time. The classroom was really cold for my daughter, which was her main complaint. Other than that, she said the class itself was fine and easy to follow. One important thing to know: the behind-the-wheel (BTW) driving slots are very limited, so students need to sign up as early as their 3rd week of class. We didn't realize how backed up it was--my daughter's BTW ended up being scheduled about 3 months after the classroom portion ended. They do provide some snacks in the classroom, which was a nice touch. (I think it's for sale -- need to clarify that). One important thing to know: if your child misses even one class, they can't make it up individually. They have to stop and wait to join the next batch because the classes have to be taken continuously. So make sure your schedule is solid before enrolling. Overall, it gets the job done, but definitely plan ahead for parking and behind-the-wheel scheduling.

She has 23+ years of experience as working nurse. She has and continues to work in the field, test, recertify, and teach. She is professional and fair. I absolutely enjoy going to her class and I am so thankful for help and guidance. You have the ability to practice in the lab here at this school if you are a student and you may also test here at this location for your NA certification if you are a student here. But this experience totally changed my mind about surfing. Kekoa was an amazing instructor who helped us get the hang of it right away. I wish I could have stayed longer, but it was my last day on the island and what a way to end our trip.

Our…read more10-person team's skill level ranged from surfers to those who had never set foot on a surfboard before. Kekoa made us all feel comfortable and gamified the experience with a bit of friendly competition. All the staff were so friendly, and the facility was impeccably clean. We all laughed so hard our ribs hurt, and learned some new skills. Afterwards, we made a day of it and grabbed delicious Pizza, salads, and beers in a cabana overlooking the ocean. I enjoyed the experience so much that I have since brought my kids.
