I have seen posts in the Iron Mountain Discussion page on Facebook and have been wanting to try their pizza. Today after dropping off our son at camp, we tried the Gyro pizza (delicious) and the Supreme pizza. The desserts were good too. My hubby and I went on a Sunday evening during the hot spell in July. We sat in the ac section of the restaurant and the temperature was fine. We had a nice server. The paint sticks with pepperoni and dipping sauce appetizer is really good! The supreme pizza was delicious! Tons of toppings with really tasty sausage, sauce and crust. Reminds me of Chicago style pizza. Yum! They have a ton of different pizza options. We talked to the owner for a bit. A very nice lady. The restaurant is big. There are cabins to rent on the property. We talked to a family staying there and they said the cabins are very nice. We saw some pasta dishes and they looked awesome. We will be back for sure! Marley was a great server! The pizza was out standing starting with the homemade crust! 1thick crust slice would do it for most people! We had a breakfast of pizza the next morning. We built our own pizza but had many specialty ones available. The salad was unlike any other here in the upper P. read more

Went here for lunch after wanting to try it out for a while now. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly. The bar area is a little out dated looking but clean. They had a nice variety of beer and the bartender recommended a couple of beers for us to try. We were starving so ordered an appetizer right away. We went theory the spinach and artichoke dip served with Parmesan pita bread. It was delicious, but also very large so we had no room for lunch. We were told they are very busy for Friday Fish fry and Saturday Prime Rib. Will have to come back again and try it out. read more

Ok these are cute little cabins by the river. They are a bit rough around the edges but clean and cozy. They are what you would expect of a little older cabin. The view from your little porch and view from living area is wonderful. The price is a bargain. I loved it but i was not expecting modern new. So within normal sane expectations stay there. Very nice! The River feels so good in the middle of summer! I really enjoy their Mac n cheese. What a nice place to stay.

We stayed at PRL last year. The cabins were nice and clean and the people were friendly. It's nice to have a solid restaurant option on site. Food was decent and service was very nice and helpful. PRL would be great for family outings, canoeing, nature, etc. Not so good for fishing. This particular section of the Paint underwent a fish kill a number of years ago and hasn't really recovered. Fishermen will need a boat on a trailer and to drop on other areas/lakes to fill their livewells. read more

Excellent, found this gem while out looking for places to fish the rivers. Husband had pizza and I order the chicken toco salad. Both were very good along with the service. We had great conversation with one of the owners .My taco salad came out with refried beans which I didn't see on menu, it might have been that I over looked it. The owner was very accommodating and took it back and made it with out the beans. He said he wanted customers to be happy. You don't find that kind of service every day. The restaurant was very clean, lots of seating,nice bar area,they have music, pool table and pacman video game. We will be Look forward to trying some of the other things on menu. read more

Went there for the Wednesday night wings special and was informed they are now doing Asian on Wednesday night and Mexican on Thursday night....ok, so we went with the Asian. The Asian is usually pretty good but when we got the bill we were more than a little surprised. Our bad for not asking the price before ordering (and our waitress didn't mention the price when she was going through the specials) but it was $17.00 for each Asian dish ,which does not include soup or salad or any other side dish. These are not big plates or bowls of food. The shrimp dish did include 6 jumbo shrimp but still..... $17.00?! Let's put it this way, it was good but WAY over priced. So, after spending $50.00 for food, drinks and tip, my husband came home and had toast. Too bad, because we really like the wings special. Had the Mexican before and it was pretty generic (example; salsa looked/tasted like Old El Paso....blah) so won't be ordering that again. Their Friday night beer battered fish fry is excellent and you cant beat the home made fries and onion rings. read more

We're staying in the cabins of Paint River Landing and enjoying the restaurant for dinner this evening. Tonight's special was prime rib and it did not disappoint! Coupled with homemade garlic mashed potatoes, a salad bar, and homemade tater tots bigger than the size of a golf ball the entire dinner was tasty! There's a small local beer selection on tap as well so don't pass the bar too quickly! It's a local gem! read more

Very nice restaurant had the chicken pot pie it was phenomenal the crust was great!!!!! Wife had the perch (fried ) it was also very delicious. However the garlic mash potatoes were bland and dry you couldn't taste any garlic. The restaurant was very nice and clean the staff was very polite and the view by the river was nice as well. read more

I live in town and I like your food. Though, one thing please, when I ordered a Manhattan I got two shots of whiskey and a cherry on the rocks - no sweet vermouth and no bitters, and It was served on the rocks. I didn't order it on the rocks. The bartender and waiter were both nice and did the right thing to offer a new one but I could see they didn't know what a Manhattan is, so, I just dropped the matter and enjoyed my whiskey, my meal, etc. I'm not trying to be a pain, just helpful. Plus, I like Manhattans better than whiskey on the rocks. Recipes may vary, but one classic recipe: 2 oz whiskey/bourbon/whatever is ordered 1 oz sweet vermouth 2 dashes angostina bitters Blah, blah, blah the liquids are mixed over ice and strained into a chilled cocktail glass. One hour 40 minute wait just to be seated for dinner. Ordered immediately once waitress came to table. Food good but wait is horrendous. They should have been better prepared for a Friday night after holiday. Very disappointed. read more

I called to see how late they were serving on a Sunday night and was told 8:00. We got there before 7 and didn't get our drink order in when the waitress came and told the bartender they were shutting down the kitchen. Instead of asking if anyone was there to eat , they just closed the kitchen, an hour ahead of schedule. At least four more people came in to eat, so they turned away at least 7 people and obviously lost out on a chunk of money. What a terrible way to run a business! Paint River Landing is an amazing find in the backwoods of the UP. Let me walk you through it: First: your ease of reaching the owners is simple. They were very attentive to my inquiry and offered many options. Second: Making the reservations was easy. Third: The accommodations were superb! We rented one of the larger cabins and the only thing that could have made the sleepover better would have been king sized beds, though we knew going in that was not an option and unreasonable expectation for you city folk. Still the rooms were great, beds clean and comfortable and the living space wonderful with a lovely view of the river from the sliding doors. Finding all the utensils we needed in the room was a plus. Finding a restaurant on the property that was actually open was a bonus! Great food, bar and kind people. Paint River Landing is a place you should feel comfortable about going because it had everything and more---kind people, good food, great view and very reasonable rates. read more

Overall quite satisfied. Some side options are not so great but the main dishes make up for it. The scallops are outstanding as well as the fish fry options. Some of the sides could use some improvement. The service has always been excellent. read more

We had a great Saturday meal. The service was exceptional and the owners took the time to get to know us. My mother is in a wheelchair and the entrance and restrooms were very accessible to her needs. The salad bar was fresh and well designed and the food was excellent. My brother had the tenderloin and I had the prime rib. The restaurant has been remodeled is very spacious and looks great. We will be back. read more

Came in for dinner tonight. The place is busy which is good. My husband and I took at seat at the bar and were told we could not order anything. Normally that would not bother me, however there are several people eating at the bar. We were told the kitchen is "too busy" to allow any more orders from the bar. Hmmmmm.... Been coming here practically since it reopened. While the ambience and decor are great and the staff friendly and helpful, the food leaves something to be desired. The menu has barely changed since the beginning and the daily specials have stopped being special. The side dishes are disappointing with lumpy, gummy, tasteless garlic mashed potatoes and overcooked tater tots that are way too big. The green beans are too hard and the baked potatoes have been sitting around too long. The main dishes are good and the sandwiches are generous. But I think a new cook is called for who has better ideas. We'll keep going back hoping for an improvement! read more

I've been coming here on a fairly regular basis at the end of my long and stressful work week, mainly because of the location (close to home) and because they have my favorite beer on tap. I used to run a tab, but I found that more often than not I would get overcharged by one beer so I stopped doing that and just started paying as I go. Still, regardless of who is serving me, I seem to get overcharged almost every time. I've ordered a second beer and been charged a different amount for the second (always identical) one than I was for the first one, more than once. I've ordered something off-menu (just the entree, no sides) and been charged for the entire dinner. I hate to complain about a couple dollars, but it's the principal of the matter. Then, last night, I ordered a beer and paid, leaving the change on the bar. I then ordered another, then a food item. When the bartender took my money off the bar to settle the tab, she left only a quarter as change when it should have been $2.25. I was reaching into my wallet to take out two more singles, intending to add it to the change for her tip, but when I saw that she overcharged me I put the extra money away. I'm not sure if this is standard practice at this establishment, but when I go out I always tip, and usually generously. When someone seems to take the opportunity to tip themselves, they are short-changing themselves plus everyone they split tips with: for a tab totaling $17.75 the staff would have gotten $4.25 (or 24%) to pour me two drinks and leave one food item on the bar (that kitchen staff prepared) but instead they only got $0.25. I'm tired of having to go over the bill and pointing out errors, it's embarrassing for me and I feel it's only going to make my service worse when I return... as has seemed to be the case here. I think I might look for a different place to go unwind after a hard work week, because now this is just adding stress to the end of my evening when it really shouldn't. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice place with good food and ambience that isn't 'divey', I see plenty of people I know here and I appreciate any place that has live music on a regular basis... but I don't like the hassle of wondering if my tab is going to be correct when I pay up. read more
