Our instructor was great! Downfall - parking isn't all that easy. You park on the street and have to pay a few bucks as it's metered parking. After 6p it's free parking I believe. Anyway, downtown LB is a fun place. This place just makes it SERIOUSLY that much better! Super fun to go with a good group of people! So for our 5th anniversary we decided to come back to Long Beach but this time my fiancée had several groupon deals to choose from. So out of the 5 options I chose the Queen Mary tour and the painting class with wine. That's how we stumbled across Creative Canvas LA. Laniqua (the owner) was awesome from the moment we called her to see if she would accept our groupon the next day. She saved a spot for us and asked to send her an email once we purchased the groupon so she could make it official. Very cool! Trying to find the place wasn't too hard but we did have to ask a restaurant near by where we could find the painting class. Fortunately for us, they knew exactly what we were talking about and point us along the way. Upon arriving, we had the opportunity to meet Laniqua in person and she remembered it was our anniversary while pointing us to our seats and blank canvases. She had an assistant who was awesome and very helpful while Laniqua walked us through the steps. The only negative was that the groupon said the class comes with a free glass of wine but there wasn't any available and if we did want drinks we had to purchase them from the bar next door. Other than that, the class was fun and very interesting the way you learn how to paint w picture. I would highly recommend taking her class and just make sure to call to see what location she'll be at because she has several. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

She had funny jokes and I really appreciated her coming around to help us individually when we were stuck or to save our paintings from our own destruction. I am not an artist naturally. Whenever I have to draw something I usually warn people that it won't be pretty. At the end of the session, and with the help of a glass of wine, I couldn't believe how well my painting turned out. Even for someone who really isn't drawn to painting, it was much easier than I thought when Myia broke it down step by step. I love it so much, and have it proudly displayed in my room right now. My sister was visiting from Australia, my mom lives in Whittier and we are in Redondo beach. We all drove to Long Beach excited. Our grand total was $440.00 We got there at 3 pm and our instructor Katie didn't even introduce herself. She had run out of sugar for the scrubs and essential Oils, her essential oils were so cheap and watered down. The ass ended at 3:32 PM. So we were shorted 58 minutes. She didn't even have proper containers for us and used tape to hold our scrub together, which we warmed her it won't hold and she disregarded our concerns. The scrub ended up leaking all over our car. We complained via email to Shelly the owner , who offers us a make up class. We advised her logistically it would be too hard to get everyone together And asked for a refund . She refused and gave us back $120 which in my opinion is a joke. We had asked for 50% minimum. Our whole evening was ruined because of this horrible company. There are so many other better businesses please do not give your money to this establishment. I wish we had been warned and should have realized when after 4 years of being open they only had 15 reviews on yelp. Save yourself the time, money and hassle

They allow any amount of color paint to you need and offer a glossy or glitter sealant for your painted ceramic. Allow at least an hour of paint time for smaller pieces and more than that if your artists are more detailed oriented or indecisive. We easily spent 1.5 hrs painting once we selected our ceramic, which took at least 25 minutes itself. I would like to come back with my husband for a date night.
