Joyful expressions paint and taste was extremely accommodating to our private group. We were there to celebrate our Sorority chapter's anniversary and were about 20 deep. I did not organize our group's event but from what i heard the point of contact was super easy to work with and had a private link for our contact and payment information. Ashley was great on the instruction and the music. She made things free flowing and easy to understand. She gave us colors that we requested, and all supplies. We were also a loud group and she was ok with that lol. The vibes were great and we had an excellent time! Went to a team bonding event at this place and it was wonderful. It was for my daughter's cheerleading team we paid for a customized painting of our teams good luck duck. The painting came out amazing. The instructor lead the children participating every step of the way and all the girls paintings came out amazing. 5 star experience! I hosted a private event on Friday night for 17 guest and everything went smooth. From allowing everyone to have their own private link to book their seat (so you didn't have to deal with the hassle of booking and people not showing) which made everything so easy, and even to the paint night! Emilio was an great instructor, he was extremely hands on, funny and easy to follow. We used no sketches and everything was free handed. He made sure the class was enjoyable for men and women. The Bluetooth played good music and by the end of the paint and sip everyone felt like Picasso. Everyone enjoyed our private booking and for $40 a person it was completely worth it! I had the opportunity to finally attend a paint and taste experience at joyful expression on the weekends they offer a brunch special with bottomless mimosas and chicken and waffles. Going into the paint experience I was nervous because I can't draw lol however the staff and owner were so accommodating, helpful and talented. They played soulful music and it really set the mood. Painting was made easy I had instructor Emilio who is absolutely AMAZING at what he does. The picture we drew was right up my ally and as soon as a I got home I put it on display in my living room. I went to Joyful Expressions when they first opened. A co-worker invited me out and to date, it has been the best paint and sip experience I've had. Ive been to a few of these types of events, even in different states, but this one takes the cake. The host / owner is a delightful, down to earth person. She and her team guide you through the painting as you sip your wine. At the time, they had wine tasting as you painted. Along with hour'deurves that were so tasty. It was a full experience for sure. The establishment has grown so much since I last went, but that's a testament to the continued business they've been getting over the years. Back then, the owner mentioned they would be getting a bar, and voila!, they now have a bar! If for now other reason, you have options at the bar! Lol I highly recommend giving them a try. I've never done a sip and paint of any sort because it just didn't seem like my thing. A friend of mine hired this company for her birthday Sip and paint. I must say from beginning to end it was a pleasureable experience. Joy was entertaining. She had us laughing and got us excited for each stage of the portrait process. Roy was there assisting as well. He was very helpful when we looked a hot mess trying to paint certain parts of our portraits. LOL. He was never impatient and you can tell her thoroughly enjoys ART! He fixed a few of our canvasas to bring them back to life. I never once felt intimidated and like I was a horrible artist. I felt like an artiste! Lol. Probably on of the most fun places I've been to in a long time. I did a private party and it was perfect! The host and her staff/family were awesome. They tended to us and though I was late they waited for me since it was my birthday. The chicken is from one of my favorite places golden bird so it was delicious the waffles were thick and really good. The mimosas were amazing and literally did not stop flowing, but if u really want a drink get some JOYFUL JUICE. joy has a great personality and walked us through the painting with a breeze. We all had the same painting but made it our very own, with our own styles and ideas. Joys mother was so sweet and just working the bar like a pro. They had a new employee sit in on the party and paint with us and she was just like one of us. I really enjoyed all of them and the energy they gave us. (Something random I enjoyed is that I noticed all the women in the business wore their natural hair. And it was just beautiful to see. Had a great time painting & sipping with Liz & Roy. They actually joined us offsite at a private residence. The event was a birthday party. They arrived (on time) set up all the painting supplies (plastic over the table cloths, blank canvases, easels, paint brushes & cups, and of course the paint). Once they were ready we were all seating and began our painting. This is great for everyone....if you are experienced or not. The instructor takes their time and guides you through the painting step by step. Eveyone is an artist at heart!! Our instructor was Liz....she was very thorough with the explanations and even took her time to demonstrate the more difficult sections before setting us free to do it on our own. It was a pretty hot & sunny day outside and of course we were drinking so she even gave us a 20 minute break in order to get water (or alcohol) and even food. She was very friendly and even joked with us alot. Roy- the trusty assistant was also very helpful and friendly. He refilled the water cups, the paint colors and even walked around with tips on how to perfect certain areas and even gave quick 1 on 1 lessons to anyone who requested. They were both very personable and I would definitely recommend Joyful Expressions to anyone who wants to host a 1 of a kind paint & sip party!! read more
