Options: I liked that they had the option to paint wine or beer glasses. This was more interesting than painting a canvas that I would probably just end up throwing away. They had a lot of painting options as well. Booking: The person helping book was quick to respond and offered a call to answer questions. However, when I went to confirm I wanted to move forward I didn't hear anything back. Seems my message might have gone to spam because they followed up with me asking if we had decided. So that delayed the booking process a bit. Cost: This was fairly reasonably priced. They were able to accommodate a group of 8 even though they originally said they'd need a min of 9 (I think). Only iffy thing that happened is they threw in a $40 travel fee which was nowhere mentioned in any of our other conversations. So that came as a surprise. Experience: Our host arrived early and set up. There was a small miscommunication in that we got 2 glasses but the host didn't realize that til half way through and asked why we didn't have a second picture picked out. The coordinator didn't mention I should choose two. The host wasn't very good at getting our group's attention and I tell they were a bit anxious to keep on time. 90 min definitely flew by and I couldn't image how they would have gotten through two demos. This updated review is about the process in which trying to schedule my own paint party. First, this is not a local company. They are on the east coast and customer service is below satisfactory. They do not give you any specified details regarding cost until you beg for it. They force you to sign up/reserve online with a $160 deposit. You still can't get any costs until you give them ALL your details but you know what - sometimes we don't have all those details and are looking for a budget first! After a failed attempt at getting additional questions answered and nobody from this non-local company responding to me, I emailed back and asked them to cancel. Sure as shit, I then got a response. But now, they want to charge $40 to cancel this reservation - that they forced me to create in order to get any details whatsoever. Oh, and if I reschedule, they are also requiring an ADDITIONAL $40 even though on the email confirmation I got it says" "If you need to change your Event Date or Event Time, please let us know within 1 business day, in order to avoid a $50 reschedule fee" GREEDY MUCH??? read more

We had Paint the Town come out to my parents' home in Coronado for my sister's bachelorette party. I worked with Celia to get everything booked, and she was great. I called a few weeks ahead, booked with a deposit, picked from a gallery of images, made sure to have my own long tables and folding chairs, and paid in full a few days before my event. We had 19 girls painting and it went so well! Kyli was our instructor and she was fun, a good teacher, patient, and had a great personality! All the girls had a blast and it was such a unique thing to do at a party. Kyli came early, had everything set up quickly, started on time, we painted for almost the full two hour block, and she had everything cleaned up quickly at the end! This was a great experience. I reached out to a couple of similar companies but Paint the Town was the quickest to communicate and answered all of my questions quickly. The pricing was also consistent with most of the other places I reached out to, but because Paint the Town was so quick to communicate and the process was easy to navigate I decided to go with them. I have been fortunate to have attended a few Paint the Town team-building events at my work - all hosted by the founder Celia and I'm happy to give her and her team 5 stars. Let's start with Celia - she's amazing, patient, fun, someone anyone would want to be friends with or have at any dinner party - which makes her an approachable yet encouraging teacher which is incredibly necessary when she's herding 10 to 20+ "multi-tasking" students who have limited to zero art skills and a short attention span. Point being, she keeps her crowd engaged, provides useful guidance and tips that will help you keep the faith in your efforts towards turning a blank canvas into a painting worthy of appreciating. Celia also picks artwork pieces that you would actually want displayed in your home or at your desk - I've proudly stuck my PTT masterpiece on the side of my file cabinet as I have no walls and I can't wait to add to my collection. PTT provides all of the supplies, apron, brushes, etc. and you just have to bring an appetite to learn and have a good time. Pro-tip: wear clothes you don't mind getting paint stains on in case you are prone to get stuff everywhere. RIP, Madewell jeans.
