Scott was great and so was his crew. I needed the work done in a hurry because I had just rented an apartment and the moving truck was already en route from Chicago. He scheduled me quickly and completed the job quickly which I appreciated, and his crew was cool and cleaned up after themselves. Only problem is the job looks a little rushed. There are spots where the paint coverage just isn't great, splashes of paint on the sink and tub, and a bit on the metal window frame. I hate writing less than stellar reviews but I think people have a right to know. No, I don't want my money back and I don't even want to deal with them coming back to fix it - it's not that bad. Long overdue review here. I just wanted a quick paint job--my new apartment had just been remodeled so the walls were perfect. From experience, I knew it was a one day job, just one coat, and I considered doing it myself but painting and ADHD are not a good match. The two other companies who quoted me treated it like some huge protect. Scott gave me a very fair price over the phone, showed up a couple days later and banged it out in a day. Four hours taping? No need. Scott, who no doubt excelled in coloring as a kindergartner, simply stayed with in the lines. Scaffolding because my ceilings are high? I borrowed a ladder from my super and he used that. My one complaint? He looked like the Verizon "Can you hear me now?" guy and I friggin' hate Verizon. read more

Hire Scott. Seriously. Scott painted our entire apartment. We originally wanted him to do a few rooms, but we loved it so much that we kept on wanting him to do more and more. He even helped us pick out some colors to go along with the others we had chosen. Scott repaired a bunch of holes and some cracks we had in the bedroom wall. It looks brand new. He worked very quickly and since my wife and I don't always work days, he was willing to work around our schedules and his equipment took up the smallest amount of space that you hardly knew it was there. Perfect paint job. Quick. Painless. Clean. Easy. Most importantly: PERFECT PRICE!!!!! We had several estimates from other painters and Scott was easily 40% cheaper than anybody else we asked. I've been looking for painters for at least 4 weeks and had many come by my apartment to do estimates. So for my living room which is approx. 400 square feet...almost all three painters quoted me around $800...just for the living room! But I came across Scott's website and saw his video (it shows how he paints without using tape!) and I decided to contact him. What a great surprise he was...he responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He quickly gave me an estimate over the phone and we setup a time for him to do the job within a couple of days. HIS WORK IS FANTASTIC FOR THE PRICE....it was nearly half of what the other painters would have charged me. Trust me, he is worth it. I've been delinquent but I owe Scott a review. Most of his business comes from Yelp recommendations, so go ahead and hire him for your painting needs. Found him on Yelp, took a look at his website and his painting technique, contacted him and he was prompt with a reasonable quote that was on par if not fairer than a lot of other highly rated painters. He gave specific directions on what kind of paint to buy that would be best for him and long term staying power (benjamin moore fyi), and I chose the colors after much fun on their website. Scott arrived promptly in the morning, moved swiftly painting the 2 bedrooms and living room, and was done before in the afternoon. The only slight con, is that there were little details I had to go over once he left, such as sharpening the paint near the corners and adding another brushstroke to behind the refrigerator door, but that took less than ten minutes. All in all, a great, efficient painter who will save you hours of time and some muscle pain if you hire him! read more

Scott went above and beyond, I absolutely recommend him! I recently moved out of my apartment and hired Scott to paint my apartment back to white so I could retain my deposit. I had deep colors on the wall - red, orange, magenta. Scott was responsive, kind, professional, and did an excellent job! My schedule was complicated: I was moving out of state, and I was already out of town when he did the job. Scott was was willing to do deal with my building and be in contact with a friend of mine to arrange payment - and he emailed me pictures of his progress throughout the day. In the chaos of moving, I did not have time to remove all the nails and screws that were in the wall. Several of them were very high up, and I asked the building to lend him a ladder. They did so.... but their ladder was not tall enough. So Scott went to Home Depot, bought a ladder, and WALKED back to my apartment with it! On top of that, one of my rooms is interior and had no light fixture. He called a friend to bring him a lamp so he could paint that room. I was in a tight situation trying to orchestrate a difficult out-of-state move, and Scott really came through. His pricing was very reasonable - but I am giving him extra! Thank you! : ) read more

I spoke with a few painters to get quotes for my apartment. Painting by Scott was the least expensive and easiest to work with by far. Joel painted the main living/dining room, our bedroom and bathroom. He was punctual, polite and easy to work with. He did everything one day and did a great job, especially with the edging. Scott was recommended to me by a friend, and I've since referred him to another friend. He painted 2 large rooms in my apartment, as well as a hallway, and was always on time and efficient in his work. He offered to bring the paint, which was a huge help to me, and he was very trustworthy and his rates are great. Also, I was impressed with his follow-thru on the job. One of the hallway walls was taking more than expected to coat over the existing patches of color, and Scott agreed to come back (under the same payment for the same job) to retouch these areas. I've hired the company three times. The first time, when Scott was still in charge, I had a great experience. The second two times less so. Most recently I found correspondence with whoever is running the business to be awkward; there were presumptuous comments and slow response times. The work was ultimately satisfactory, which I attribute to the skill of the third party painter who was brought in to do the work. So glad I found Scott on Yelp. I was moving into a new apartment and was considering painting myself. I did a little research, found Scott on Yelp, and watched his video on his web-site. After seeing the video I was amazed by his painting style and contacted him for a quote. He responded promptly and provided a reasonable estimate. I decided to hire him. I wasn't thrilled with this unfortunately. I was in a hurry to get a bedroom painted back to white before I moved out of my apartment. The proprietor was frustratingly slow to respond to my emails when I wanted an estimate and then to confirm the date and time. The painter came on the date and time, but when be finished we realized that he didn't do a very tidy job--he got paint on to some of the trim and ceiling and there was a thickish drop that had slid down the wall and was drying that way. My boyfriend and I used the paint to do touch ups and it was fine, but I just felt like the guy who came (not Scott) did a rushed job. Granted his estimate was lower than others ($350-$400) but he charged me the top of that, $400, and idk it just wasn't a super clean job. read more

Excellent experience with Scott. Needed to freshen up my place to sell and he was super responsive to calls, texts, emails, you name it, a HUGE plus in the not-so-timely world of contractors. Reasonable estimate over the phone and final pricing was perfectly within range. From first call to job done and paid took less than a week and he was very accommodating and flexible with logistics: meet-ups, building access, that whole annoyance of keys etc... He also gamely handled small patches and my last-minute add-ons (oh, can you also do the doors? wait, I need the radiator, etc) with aplomb and professionalism.
