They have cool cut outs to take pics with and stages for you and your friends to take pictures after you paintings are done! They have different paintings to chose from each night and you reserve your seats easily online. They allow you to bring snacks and drinks (byob) and you can also have parties there!! The step by step instructions were so helpful, so you don't have to be a great artist. We painted a baby Yoda and they provided a pattern to trace. Enjoyable until the instructor stopped painting their painting and, instead of providing feedback or instruction, decided to just take my painting and finish it. And he did this literally half the class, just sat there for 15 minutes and painted your painting without really asking for input or providing feedback, just enjoying themselves on my dime. read more

Man I love this place! I couldn't tell you how many times I have been to this establishment. I have gone to the one on Burnet and the one in Round Rock several times each but there's something about the Cedar Park location. The only thing I can think of is management. The manager here really cares about this location. From what I can tell this is the only location that celebrates their anniversary which I have to say is a huge huge turnout. She definitely makes it fun and I have gone to all of them and will continue to go to all of them because it's not just about the painting but how they make you feel. I went here this past week, for the first time, and I'll go back for certain. This place is so much fun! I signed up for the Paint Your Pet, and it was challenging. They sketch the picture of your pet on canvas, and then you have to paint it, making this the more challenging of all their classes. However, the staff are helpful and provide tips and lots of encouragement. I think my portrait actually came out really well. :-) Also, they allow wine and food. So, I was able to bring a bottle of wine and some snacks. This made the whole experience all that more enjoyable, and I'm already planning a girls outing here with my mom. read more

Apparently under new ownership - not impressed! I've been to this place more than a half dozen times and will not be returning. They were clearly understaffed, no offers were made to help inexperienced guests with techniques, actually heard a staff member offer less than polite commentary to guests. Class started late - like 15-25 minutes. Paint wasn't out and ready. And desk staff seemed more interested in helping late arrivals sign up and pay for the session in progress than those who pre-paid online. Open Studio should be avoided! There was no mention that images selected well in advance would not be pre-sketched, the image wasn't printed and ready. Instructions were exceedingly poor and two hours wasn't anywhere near long enough when you must first draw before painting; when you start late that's even less time and most guests didn't finish. If they didn't have the canvas size you selected, paid for, and had confirmation for, they simply unilaterally changed your selection, failed to notify you, sprung that surprise in person, demanded you pay the difference if you selected something similar that cost a little bit more OR offered you a partial credit towards a future class. Like THAT will happen! This place has gone down hill in every way and I'd give negative stars if I could. I was certainly embarrassed to bring guests who had never been here prior. They aren't interested in returning either! read more

Went here last week for a fun night out with my employees. We had a BLAST! We ended up being the only ones in the class so that was awesome but not expected. Adrienne was our instruction and she was fantastic! She never made us feel rushed (I think we even went over our time) and didn't rush us to start when a couple people were late. This was my first time doing this and I will say I was pleasantly surprised by how much time my girls and I had to still socialize. The Yelp page for this location is oddly empty considering the hundreds of reviews on the Cedar Park PWAT Facebook page. Anyways, we drove out all the way from UT during Valentine's weekend since all of the "good" (we weren't into the love trees..) classes for closer locations were filled up. We were between this session (Congress Bridge) and the Austin Sunrise one. We came prepared with wine (wish we had more), and it looked like most of the folks there brought wine and beer as well. Booking a session was extremely easy, and while I initially thought $35 a person was pretty expensive, PWAT has to have been one of the coolest/most fun dates I've ever been on. When you get there, you pick out an apron, which they have plenty of silly ones, and sit in a seat they assigned to you. Your canvas, brushes, and all the paint you will need are already all laid out. I was pretty nervous near the start since I kept thinking I would mess up irreparably, but soon I was having fun and realized it was hard to mess up too badly while following the instructor's directions. Our instructor went at a good pace and was entertaining during the breaks we had when we let sections of the painting dry. There were some short party games and giveaways, etc. The session honestly ended before we knew it, and the end product turned out awesome enough now that it's hanging on my wall, even if it didn't look amazing up close that day. I think if you come with an open mind, are ready to have fun, and have some alcohol with you, this place would be a great way to spend two hours for any kind of outing. It was my second experience with Painting With A Twist and my first time at this location. My first experience was so great at the Burnet location and the teacher did very well explaining throughout the class. I went yesterday afternoon with a couple of friends. When we got to our seats I noticed the painting was not like the picture we saw online which disappointed me. The clouds we're painted differently and I couldn't tell what was the beach or the water. It didn't really make sense in relation to each other. We had a couple bottles of wine that we wanted to put in some ice buckets so I asked the assistant if we could have an ice bucket and she told me they don't provide ice. It says online that they do provide ice but I guess now they don't? If they don't provide it anymore, the online description of what they provide needs to be updated. The teacher was OK. She wasn't very energetic and did not explain thoroughly on what colors we should use in what order and how to paint it on. I wish she provided more tips and tricks on the water and clouds. A lot of people would ask questions and she seemed to get irritated by it. We also didn't finish in time. We just started the clouds and they told us we had fifteen minutes left so then everyone was rushing.The teacher and assistant could have been more friendlier. They basically give you paints, a canvas and instruction (and also music!) while the guy teaches you how to paint a scene. I personally felt a little bad because I was getting slightly bent out of shape that my painting was turning out like absolute crap, despite the fact that I've totally taken art lessons in the past (granted, like, a decade in the past). There were only a total of 4 people at the appointment, so we definitely had the luxury to take our time and get some one-on-one with our artist, Mandy. They provide you with a canvas, paint, brushes, and talented teacher/artists to guide you through the experience--basically everything you need for your perfect painting. In addition, it's BYOB (they have ice if you forgot some). #1 rule: relax and have fun. The artists go step-by-step with you--they tell you what colors to mix, what brushes to use, how to stroke your brushes, etc. It may look like a mess at first, but everything honestly does come together. Mandy was a great joy to be around. She was patient, enthusiastic, and mingled with all of us throughout our session. There was also a raffle: guess how many cork screws are in the jar. Whoever gets the closest amount wins a prize. And guess who guessed the closest? Your gal right here! Wooot! I got to pick a painting of my choice on the Raffle Wall (the red canvas). So I came here recently for my moms birthday and honestly I was not pleased normally I go to the locations in Houston and every single time I have a amazing time so what made this not so great was that the painter or instructor looked as though she was extremely stressed out she wasn't super you know energetic or anything like that they didn't have any cups or ice I'm just used to these accommodations you know when I would go to the locations in Houston now when I asked her about these things she definitely did say that oh per state standards or city standards or something like that was the reason that they didn't have any of the ice or cups but even then I ask for napkins and I was with a group of five and she gave me one or two napkinsSo I had to go to the restroom to get more napkins I mean it was an OK time but I definitely will choose another location I'm just used to a super fun energetic instructor and she was just like not having a good day or they must have been shorthanded or some sort read more

I really wanted to enjoy the experience but it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. I felt like the instructor could have given more tips while painting. My painting that I came home with was meh, it was alright but I threw it away afterwards. The instructor asked us in the middle of the session to publish a photo / status on social media and "check in" on the Painting with a Twist location. I didn't really like this marketing effort, they even turned it into a contest where you win a painting in exchange for getting the most "likes" at the end of the session. Purchased a class for the Mother in Law, Wife, and Daughter. Ladies told me that they felt rushed and no attention was given to them because of the bigger class in the other room. Wife asked for assistance several times and they told her she needed to hurry up because another class was scheduled right behind them. My husband and I did the "Paint Your Pet" event in Cedar Park, in part because it was a fund-raiser for Puppy Mill Awareness Day and in part because I had seen the painting my sister did during a previous "Paint Your Pet" event. I had high expectations based on my sister's experience - and my expectations were exceeded! I was really nervous, but the instructors helped put me at ease. They provided a great outline on the canvas and all the supplies we needed, broke everything down step by step, and provided individual help as needed during and for a little bit after the class ended. Even better, they offer a free S.O.S. class for those of us who need and/or want help to work on our paintings a little more. I also liked that they work with a lot of organizations to arrange fundraisers.
