Kevin makes the class very interactive, so it definitely isn't boring. Kevin also has a Police/Military background so he provides you with really useful information on how to handle yourself in different scenario's. The classroom portion is done at his home and I felt comfortable. The practical portion is done behind his farm and you will go through about 100 rounds while utilizing different shooting techniques. I liked how he had us do more then just the normal stand and shoot at a target. Kevin had us doing shooting while walking and shooting from the side of an object that you use for cover. This class is not intimidating like some other CPL courses as Kevin is a very easygoing person. It's easy to miss this place. Just look for the American Flag on the red barn. Bring the cash for the course, eye protection, ear protection, a firearm and about 100 rounds of ammo. In the Summer, Kevin said he will be doing advanced shooting courses for those that are interested. I highly recommend this course to those seeking to obtain their Michigan CPL.

So, I tell them I'm a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. So, I'm on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one - big hitter, the Lama - long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga... gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

9/14/19 Today I've completed Armed Citizen: Every Day Carry (EDC) with Defensive and Tactical…read moreApplications (DTA). This is my 3rd consecutive yr completing this class. Each time, the shoothouse is rearranged to accommodate realistic, every day scenarios for students to complete with role players. This is a force-on-force class using UTM munitions. Today we completed 9 scenarios, anything from getting out of your car, going into a store, or just getting home from work. Each scenario encompassed shoot/no shoot decisions with multiple roleplayers involved. This class takes you out of the "square range" shooting paper targets. UTMs feel like getting stung by a wasp too, so even with multiple layers of clothing, it stings every time you get shot. If an armed citizen truly wants to test their knowledge, situational awareness, and shooting ability, please consider taking force-on-force training at the Muncie Threat Assessment Center (MTAC) or at any similar facility near you. I've trained with Defensive and Tactical Applications (DTA) at MTAC for 3 years. I train with multiple other training companies too. While all companies do an excellent job, DTA is the only training company in Indiana providing this reality-based force-on-force training multiple times each year.
