The teacher was kind, but not very effective at guiding the group. She also made some awkward jokes and would laugh at them herself, which made things feel a bit uncomfortable. When people needed help, she wasn't very responsive or useful. I've been to quite a few of these over the years, and this was by far the weakest instruction I've experienced. That said, shoutout to the woman working the bar--she was incredibly helpful and definitely helped salvage the experience!

But thankfully, Aly is the bomb. Not only is she a patient and skillful teacher, but we had so much fun with her. A class at Wine and Design would be perfect for work events, bachelorettes, date nights, and gifts to loved ones! Things to know: - Aprons are provided but definitely wear clothes that you wouldn't mind getting paint on! - Class offerings include regular classes, private events, kid events, and charitable events - Instructors are flexible! If there's something that you want to do differently in your design (we asked to add glow-in-the-dark paint to ours) - Open 7 days a week (Currently, 6 PM to 9 PM Monday through Friday, 1 PM to 9 PM Saturday, and 1 PM to 7 PM Sunday) - Location is downtown, so depending on the time of your class, pay the parking meter!

I stumbled into Happy Hour Homemaker by chance on a Wednesday. They share a space with Rocky Mountain Balloons (Three women owners - what what!!). The front of her shop has a nice array of local gifts to buy. Some are sourced from other makers, a lot are made by her. They are often her tutorial piece from a class that she has taught. The bulk of what Happy Hour Homemaker does is custom works or DIY classes. She teaches guests how to create their own signs. Be it for your own business, your home, your office, as a gift - - there are so many possibilities. You can do an individual appointment or have her host a party (some day - when we're allowed to gather again). She also does DIY gift packs. She creates the beautiful wood pieces and sends you home with signs, paint, brushes and instructions. When I was there, she was working on some really cute Christmas kits. I believe she also has a vinyl printer and can print a custom sticker for your sign (but double check with the business)

I took my daughter, 7, and two friends to make jewelry with MaryAnn…read more Let me just start with how lovely, energetic and fun that MaryAnn was. She could make watching paint dry the highlight of a child's week! Her home is amazingly decorated, unique and fun everywhere you look. MaryAnn gave the girls option on what they'd like to make, which the girls loved being able to chose. She explained everything in the way young girls could understand. The girls were very engaged, enjoying the entire experience. While waiting for our clay to bake, the girls chose clay resin jewelry, MaryAnn started a dance party for them and then provided another coloring art project to entertain them during the cooking/cooling time. I will definitely be going back, not just with my daughter but also our girl scout troop! Should MaryAnn decide to hold a summer camp, my daughter will be there!!
