The staff here is really great. We brought my little one in after a car accident and they were sweet and super attentive. My little guy didn't make it, but they gave us nice options for cremation at reasonable prices. I picked up my Nico's ashes today and everything was so nicely packaged, it was beautiful, and they included a few extras like his paw print and an ornament with his name. When I picked up the staff was so sweet and told me how sorry they were about the loss of Nico. If/when I get another fur baby I will be back. read more

I'm not sure if Dr. Daniela Durantes was having a bad year or what. Initially she seemed nice but eventually became super unprofessional & down right rude. The last straw is when my mom took my cat in and Dr. Durantes scolded her & she left in tears. Never coming back again! Way too overpriced to be treated this way. Had an appointment for my dog at 9 am, was informed the dr was running late so we had to wait 30 minutes, no problem. My dog was received by the assistant and was taken back, after a couple minutes go by the assistant comes out from and said the Vet does not want to trim his nails without his rabies vaccine given first, understandable but he wasn't due until December. Minutes go by and I can just hear my dog crying in pain, later on the assistant came out and said he had too much anxiety and they accidentally poked him one too many times with the needle and they couldn't do his nail trim. And it looks like they tried cutting his nails because now he has one broken nail dangling off his skin. I asked the assistant who was dispensing the shot and she said herself.. im very disappointed with this visit. Especially the Vet for not supervising the assistant with my dog. We called to get an International Health Certificate for international travel. We have never traveled with a dog before. We called them expecting them to be professional and have the expected knowledge. The vet is "USDA Accredited " BUT they didn't know the whole process. We were told it would take "one day" for the certificate. This is FALSE! The certificate is submitted to the USDA for final certification and takes 3-5 days to return the final signed document. It is mandated to do this whole process 10 days before travel. This vet office scheduled us 2 business days before our travel date. Which means our dog would not have the required paperwork necessary and we would have been either denied travel at SFO or even worse, denied entry at our Europe destination and the pet would have been sent home without us! Do not use them for this service! read more

I have an English bulldog who is allergic to life itself... But I love him! long story short- I had taken my dog to multiple vets in the area and every other month the issues never got resolved, and the charges were outrageous every time. So I sent my husband to Pajaro Valley Vet. All I have to say is that my dogs skin did a complete 360! (within 3 weeks) I booked a follow up appointment so I can personally thank the Vet. Upon arrival the waiting room/check in area is clean+ easy check in+ wait time was decent. The staff all had smiles on their faces. Once in exam room I meet Dr.Daniela. Nice to have the feeling of dealing directly with the caregivers for our Basset Hounds. Dr Kelly and George offer a way to control the health of our dogs teeth without costly, and therefore often forgone, multiple tooth cleanings. Somehow George is able to keep our long eared family members teeth sparkling without the prohibitive cost of anesthetic procedures, a true dog whisperer! As soon as any dogs teeth are cleaned they immediately begin the journey backward to needing another round of treatment. George's skill at non anesthetic oral care makes it possible to repeat the procedure every 3 to 4 months without spending a months rent every time your dogs teeth warrant a cleaning. I brought my dog, Lola, here this morning because I'm worried that she might be developing skin cancer. Dr. Michael Kelly was unenthusiastic and negligent. During the checkup our dog was taken to the back room and Dr. Michael came in briefly to ask a couple questions. He asked if we wanted to test our dog's fatty lump on her rib, another concern of ours, for $240. We declined due to financial hardship. He seemed completely uninterested in us and the health of our dog. The vet assistant brought Lola back in the room and told us to have a good day before we even spoke to the vet about the exam and get his professional opinion regarding Lola's health. The vet assistant seemed shocked and annoyed by Dr. Michael as well for not reviewing anything with us. When the vet tech notified Dr. Michael to come back in the room, he continued to be very nonchalant about our concerns for Lola possibly having cancer, which came off very callous and dismissive. Lola is 7 years old and in all my years of vet visits, this was the first one where I didn't feel confident in the care given. The lack of consideration and explanation left me feeling like this exam was a complete waste of time and money. I will be visiting a better vet soon that truly cares about animals unlike Dr. Michael. read more

Let me start by saying under the old vet, I would not have recommended this place. But recently, Dr. Daniela Dorantes has transitioned into being the full-time vet here, & I 100% recommend this place! Dr. Dorantes is an excellent vet & so caring, genuine, & good with animals. I completely trust her judgment, as she identified certain issues in my kitty that had been overlooked & dismissed by the previous vet. Further, both my pets felt instantly comfortable with her, & she is very kind & knowledgeable. I feel confident that I can trust her with the care of my pets. I will also mention there was a massive billing issue under the previous vet due to office staff turnover that turned into a nightmare & almost lost my business - but even with that having happened prior to her arrival, Dr. Dorantes' excellent care has made up for this & more. Since she has transitioned here full time, I've also noticed the front desk staff has been helpful to a new level as well. I feel very lucky to have her as our vet! Highly recommend! read more

Used to be great when Roger was vet. The new vet has zero bedside manner, comes off very rude, and made it seem as though there were little to no ways he could help my dogs epilepsy. Said he was only willing to try 2 meds separately which didn't work, and just kept trying to push me to go to a dog neurologist that costed thousands. Tried another vet and immediately got epilepsy under control with a med combo. Current vet was willing to try numerous different meds and eager to help, which was such a different and awesome experience. read more

I had been a patient here for decades. I was very happy with Dr. B. The new vet- well, simply the most unsettling vet appointment EVER. I have so much respect for veterinarians so it was not at all what I was expecting- not efficient at all, unprofessional atmosphere, did not read intake information, did not treat my dog for what I brought him in for. Animal abuse in my book - I would give zero if I could. We were instructed to sedate our dog before bringing her in for a nail trim, they instructed us to do so 2 hours before her appointment. Day of appointment call us an hour after she's taken her dose to reschedule us (for the second time). I'm furious a vet tech would instruct me to drug my dog then call me well after she's been high to reschedule. Not to mention they had checked the schedule at 8am. They had two hours to reach out. While asking to speak to a manager and trying to get some sense of responsibility for this issue I was rudely spoken to and hung up on by the receptionist. They're rude uneducated girls working the front. You would think an apology and some understanding would benefit. So unprofessional and cruel to my dog. Now she's high and scared for no reason. We have been with Dr. Bierstedt since he bought this practice many years ago, and he was fantastic. He retired last Fall, about which we were not notified. Nor did we receive any "Welcome" from the new owner. The new owner is a corporation. Though there are several new vets, they do not seem particularly competent. I took my 5 year old dog to him as she wasn't doing well at all. I told him to run blood tests etc. He said there was no need. She just needs to lose weight. He palpated her. And that's what he said. She needs to lose weight. 2 days later I took her to the emergency hospital, pacific vet hospital. She had cancer in her groin really bad and under her left arm pit. I had to her to sleep 4 days later. I wouldn't take anything to them anymore. He can't till fat from groin cancer. read more

Overpriced. They wanted $1,300 to nueter a puppy. I paid $70 to find this out. They would not disclose the price of the surgery over the phone. Nuetering is offered elsewhere for free to $200. The large male vet also wanted to give my pup extra rabbies vaccinations and distemper even though I first presented him with my dogs vaccination records indicating that my pup was up to date. No wonder their availability was wide open, and the office was virtually empty on a day when it should have been packed. The girls working the front and back were nice and not pushy when I declined the extra charges. I think they know what is up. Go elsewhere. The Mountain Animal Hospital in Ben Lomond is the most honest vet I've found. Unfortunately, they don't do surgeries. read more

From the bottom of my heart I regret so much taking my little dog here. I came here for a non-anesthetic teeth cleaning by the guy who comes down once a month. He was recommended to me that he was amazing so I thought it would be good. My dog is only 8 lbs and I did not want to put him under. So I explained to the guy that he is super scared and very sensitive to please be gentle with his teeth. I told him he does have a couple loose teeth so becareful. I got my dog back missing 6 teeth. I was absolutely heart broken knowing that my dog was in pain and terrified, he definitely was aggresive and rough during the cleaning. I immediately started crying when they gave him back to me, the guy said it was a good thing. I was like how is this good my dog looked off and had blood on his face. He was trying to make it sound like they just fell out and they did not that was by force, and not call and tell me before what is going on. My doggy has not been the same since then it has been about 5 days and he is finally getting back to himself. I still blame myself for taking him there but I thought I was doing the right thing.
