The lady with the "Guy Fieri" haircut who works that the course is one of the snobbiest people I have ever met. She and her gang of misfit toys were completing holes in 25-30minutes, while playing from the forward tees on a busy Sunday. When asked to play ready golf or play through, she ignored us and continued on her way to look for the ball she shanked 30yards off the tee box. I understand that weekend golf is usually backed up and can be slow. But this was a beyond reasonable. The entire course was backed up by over an hour due to this one group. We were only able to complete 6 holes of golf in 2.75hrs. Even the ranger/starter said that she and her group receive multiple complaints every time they play. Overall, the course was in great shape but this group of Guy Fieri "look-a-likes"ruined then entire round for everyone behind them. read more

Horrible pace of play. It took us 2 hours, 10 minutes to play 6 holes, after which we quit. There was a 6-some in front of us, and only one of the six was not a beginner. Course conditions are poor, particularly given the price ($37 for 9 holes with a cart). I have played here for 60 years and have never seen it this bad. read more

Good course to play at if you're a beginner as it's very open and easy to hit onto another hole by accident. I've gone here less than a handful of times and my last visit there I was pitching on to the green and a guy at the tee box next to the green drove a ball so close to my head I heard the sound of the air breaking. I didn't realize until after I pitched and turned around to see the ball land only a few feet away and looked back at the guy who ONLY AT THAT MOMENT that I looked, shouted four... Also, if you don't have a lot of patience, you better get some because the players who hit their ball on to your hole from the one next to you (which will happen almost each hole), they WILL hit from where it lands even though they should pick it up and drop it back onto the hole they're actually playing. Be weary of the ones who just end up playing your hole if they hit on to it. If you aren't afraid of potentially getting hit by beginners, don't go here. Otherwise the holes are kept up nicely since there's only 9 of them. Alright for the price and almost completely flat so super easy to walk. Not worth paying for a golf cart. Parking is across the street. I'm not aware of any food other than some vending machines. read more

This is a good little course for a quick 9 holes if you live in the area. It's an open course (read that as forgiving for newer golfers), usually in good condition, with a friendly and courteous staff. It's typically easy to get tee times, and there is small clubhouse for drinks and snacks, and a deck with outdoor seating. We've golfed here numerous times, and think it's a very good value for this type of course. They offer golf carts and pull carts for rent, and typically the play moves along at a good clip. They do have leagues here, so plan accordingly. read more

This golf course picks and chooses who can golf or not. Not just one incident but several. Funny part is, we hold memberships to this club. If you know any of the staff or the lawn mower, they will be selective and let you in. Even if it's closed, they use to allow people to practice on the fields. It was just a friendly neighborhood course, where everyone knows each other. Sadly, it's not the case anymore. Now it's just unfair and poor customer service. How can we support such a place like this? So for you minorities, it will be a hit or miss. They might let you, might not. That's how this place is run. Just really disappointed and sad that it came down to this because i really enjoyed this place. BTW, i have pictures and videos of incidents where you see a closed sign and a group of white females were allowed to golf by the lawn mower staff... and just mowing near them and not letting me in. read more

I've been playing this course for years and it is so nice to see the town is managing it now. The prices are very reasonable and the course is in great shape . The improvements that have been made in the last couple of years have been a big improvement and opens the course up . This is a hidden gem if you ask me and congratulations to the staff at the course they are doing a fantastic job. read more

Great 9 hole course. Very laid back. Don't go on a nice afternoon. Unless you have 2-2.5 hours as it can play slow.

Also known to some of the locals as "Pack a Helmet", the proximity of the greens to one of the bordering roads and the wide open layout will be sure to allow you to hear "four!" at least once or twice during your round. The grounds are kept decent most of the time and it's a decent place to play. Pakachoag is only a mile or so from the Auburn Mall and the highway so its really easy to get to which is a plus too. read more

This "golf course" was probably the worst course I've ever golfed. The conditions were deplorable at best, holes are NOT marked, and the staff was perhaps the most unfriendly I've ever met. With that said, save your money, go home or go elsewhere! read more

This was the worst course I have played in central Mass. Not only is the course in horrible condition and looks like a desert, the woman in the pro shop was very rude when I asked her if they did discounts for youth players. I went with my 13 yr. old son to play and for 9 holes and we were charged $52.00. When I inquired about a youth rate or if my son could ride with me under my cart fee the woman responded no and that even if he wasn't playing she would charge me to have him ride with me. I kindly explained that all the other courses in the area have a youth rate or give a pass on the cart, and she just said "well we don't." I decided to just pay the fee and went out to play. Then the disappointments continued as the conditions of the course were awful. I will never play this course again and I highly suggest you try another course in the area that charges less and is more hospitable like Leicester Country Club, or Heritage in Charlton. read more

A bit hilly, and not always the best kept grounds, but still fairly (or fairwayly) fun. It has been a while since I've been here, though.

$13 early bird special to walk nine holes is a great deal, and the course was in pretty good shape, which was unexpected considering the low price. The greens had recently been aerated so they were wildly inconsistent from hole to hole. It's a bit hilly, but it's a nice walk. Not a lot of trees between holes (the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th is basically one huge fairway), so keep an eye on what's going on around you! read more

This course is in deplorable condition and it is not a reasonable course to play. $47 for 18 holes with cart is an average rate for central MA, but this course should be $20. I have photos of the poor condition, but unable to attach. One would be better off to golf anyplace but here! read more

So now, as of yesterday I found out they have a $35 cart fee, on top of the course fee of $31. They seriously want $66 for a Thursday afternoon for 18 holes and a cart. There a little over the top, for a 9 hole back and forth golf course, that is always a wet. Don't forget a change of socks if you have deep pockets and plan on going, or you could drive 15 minutes to the next town over like I did yesterday , and pay $34 for 18 and a cart and includes a sandwich. It sad I live walking distance to auburn course, but its worth driving somewhere else at those prices. read more

Wow! We attempted to play Pack-a-Helmet today and didn't make it out of the clubhouse. First of all, the inside of the clubhouse smelled vile. Second, the guy working there was miserable and rude. Not to mention it was 27 bucks for 9 with a cart. No way! Too many choices to settle for bad service, bad course and high prices. No wonder the parking lot was empty. Good luck over there... read more
