My favorite neighborhood store....! I've been coming here for 43 years ! Same owners just new generation but the same good produce and friendly people. They carry everything you could ever want including some odd fruits like dragon fruit or fresh turmeric. All local dairy products and cheeses and local bread. A favorite for everyone! read more

This place is great. It was one of the few places where you could find toilet paper during the height of the Great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020. Unfortunately, a car crashed into it at around 3am on September 12, 2020, and the building caught on fire. I don't know if they're still open. Hopefully, they'll be able to rebuild. read more

It was the peak of strawberry season, they looked great and I thought if I wanted some great strawberries that I should buy local and organic. So I splurged, buying a whole case roughly $20. I even made it a point to ask the attendant if the season was good and if the fruit was good quality and this particular farm was good, I was nothing but reassured. The Strawberries were bland. It was like eating flavorless mush. For the price recommendation, I expected more and from the praise of the employee I expected more, much more. The strawberries rotted before long and quickly ended up in the garbage. I expected Andy's produce level and got Safeway compost bin. I will not be back and I won't recommend anyone come to this produce stand. In fact anytime this produce stand is mentioned I will have nothing but discouraging and disapproving words in regards to the low quality produce, high prices, and untrustworthy bland-berry-pedlars. read more

I miss my favorite corner market! I did most of my veggie shopping there and they have the best macaroni salad. But just good for odds and ends, milk or bread. They are a great spot and everyone is wonderful. Hope they're all ok and come back soon! read more

I want to praise them for what they are. This fruit stand in unique! It's not like you often see yet very friendly and welcoming. Not only do they sell some good beer but they also provide a very great price on a variety of goods at a very fair price. It brought me back to the old days when my parents would stop by the side of the road at a local fruit stand and buy me a peach. I'll definitely be back! read more

I love this place! I stop here all the time because I live close by. Always a great selection of fruits and vegetables...very fresh. They also have lots of other things you can get as well. I miss Palace of Fruit a lot! One of the last of its kind so I am very happy to hear that it will be reopening in September later this year. I was really concerned it would just go by the wayside as grocery stores seem to be getting bigger and bigger (and more expensive) while places like PofF are harder to find anywhere. This little market was always my go-to spot. I stumbled across it about 10 years ago and at first I would stop by for that one thing I was out of like butter or bread. Gradually I started doing more of my shopping there. They have a very good inventory of just about anything you might need, including of course fresh fruits & vegetables but also very good (local) cheeses and last minute dinners like frozen lasagna--but the good kind! They also have a good beer & wine selection in addition to all kinds of soft drinks. I have really missed this place--a store like this really serves the community well. Thanks for hanging in there Palace of Fruit and for planning on re-opening. I'll be counting the days until September 1st, 2021! read more

Oh NO!! I just drove over to my favorite place to buy fresh fruit; and it looks like they're in the process of tearing down the building. My favorite place to shop for anything....GONE! The end of an era. Shopping there was like traveling in my own private time machine - taking me along the highways and byways of rural America, where those types of stands flourished in the 50's and 60's. I can't believe they didn't have a strong enough fan base to keep them in business! They are NOT replaceable. Petaluma has far too many grocery stores per square mile; but all of them reek of the stank of corporate greed and price gouging. Oh well...guess I'll have to get begrudgingly over it. read more

I feel bad giving Palace of Fruit anything other than five stars because everyone else loves this place but....I'm not a fan. The prices are not that great and the selection was slightly better than Safeway. Went out of my way to go here based on all the rave reviews but I won't be going out of my way to shop here again. read more

This place has been in Penngrove my entire 42 years + and I've been eating their fruit the entire time, no joke! My parents started shopping here in the 60's, and I go there once a week to get the freshest, cheapest fruit next to a farmer's market! Prices are BETTER than a farmer's market! and you can get regular groceries as well! This place ROCKS! read more

Now that I've come there several different occasions through out the last few months, I have to say there is some truth in some of the bad reviews other people have mentioned. Some days their produce looks to be going bad but it's not terrible. I think the worst I've seen there was black bananas and I'm not talking about plantains. But hey - what do people expect if it's local and fresh? It's obviously going to go bad eventually and they still need to try to sell the mediocre produce. read more

I love love love this place! I love everything about it. I try to buy my produce from there as much as possible. Yesterday I went in and bought a bunch of apples, bananas, strawberries, brussel sprouts, asparagus, avocados, bell peppers, lettuce and a bottle of balsamic vinegar.. and the total was only $21!!! I couldn't believe it! Everything was so fresh and so delicious! Another amazing thing about this stand is the wine selection! Who would have thought they had some of my favorite wines!?! read more

I have shopped at the Palace of Fruit for years. However, today, I went and stood behind a gentleman that was being helped...then another man stood behind me. Another employee came out and helped the guy BEHIND me before helping me. Yes, they are of one culture, but I was ignored..... And, I thought it was rude that the two women employees thought it was OK to help someone who looked like their brother....Will not be going back. read more
