I always get a 6oz steak and they cook it perfectly and it's always a little larger than 6oz(; The ambiance is soothing and dim, and the style is tailored to an older Victorian style. I stopped in for a quick steak to go and the waitress, Jordan, was very kind and accommodating. She even brought my food out to the car while I waited with my dog. i'm gonna be honest this was not my first choice me and grandma wanted to go to the main street diner but they had been closed and i'm half they were. this is probably some of the best service i have ever had in a while the people are so lively and it's so much fun and it's a little loud and Greek Salad-the geek (greek without the "r" is what one of the servers call it) is SO good it's one of the best salads i have had in so long and i tend to not like salad but i'd eat this all day. We hit this place a few yards from the Missouri River on a Sunday night in January and first thought whoa maybe not, it is nearly empty. Glad we stayed: solid small town steakhouse with a menu that featured a bit of everything. My party pronounced the chicken fingers, smothered steak, and gyros as top notch, and priced modestly. I liked the salad bar--not a huge selection but fresh! Add to it the fact you are dining in a 19th century historic building. I would stop here anytime I am In Boonville. read more

If you are looking for a gyro, this is the best you can find! I have lived in Boonville a long time and this is still my favorite restaurant. George has the best burgers, steaks, grilled chicken, and the Greek salads are AMAZING. I have never had a Gyro as good as the ones at The Palace! And I have tried many. read more

This was another of my stops while in Boonville for a soccer tournament. Had high hopes for the greek food here but the consensus for the table, most had the gyros including myself, was that the gyro meat was bland. It just didn't have that greek gyro flavor that it should have. The staff was nice and friendly, service was fast considering they were getting pretty busy right after we arrived. The steaks were recommended by the waitress, it was just hard not to try the gyros since they are one of my favorites. Next time if I happen to be in town will give the steaks and baked potato a try. The building was unique and had some history to it, worth a try if passing through Boonville. read more

We were told this was a Greek restaurant. It's not. A couple if Greek dishes but not much. I had the half fried chicken. Nicely fried but zero seasoning. The salad bar was very so-so. The white gravy on the really nice homemade mashed potatoes had a really strange taste, but nice, and came from a package mix or can. The falafel was very forgettable. We were in Booneville on a Saturday excursion and needed dinner. The Mainstreet Rest. was closed after 8 and up the street was the Palace . We asked three people who were just leaving and they highly recommended the food. BEST was their Steak . Sounded good to me . Inside, we asked two More diners and they said " Steak" . No more questions, we got the Serloin steak and , YES , very tender And tasty . Salad bar was average but fresh . Texas toast was bland . Needed to offer and use real butter . All and all: my wife rated it as 3 , I said 5 , hence the 4 rating . Yes , I would recommend, especially their steaks . read more

Excellent food, friendly service and reasonable prices! What a historic place! The steaks were freshly cut and delicious. Loved their salad bar too. My friends and I were in Boonville and needed take-out for dinner one night; we called The Palace to see if we could get a salad "to go", and they were very accommodating. They made one up to order, and let us browse the salad bar for the other. The staff is all quite friendly and were happy to provide travel advice for our next stop. Needless to say, the salads were quite tasty and fresh! The Palace seems to me to be a nice, neighborhood place, but they're very nice to out-of-towners as well! read more

Good prices, good food, needs an update. Husband and I were driving through and stopped for food. The gyro was amazing with the best tziki sauce I've had in a long time. Excellent Greek salad!!!! The dressing is made by the owner, and he doesn't give out his recipe, but you can buy it there. Try the greek pork chop, it is absolutely DELICIOUS. Don't get the mushroom and Swiss it's not the real thing cold and no juice at all. As well as the vegetables were all cold on my ladies sides. Then to top it all off the owner was rude as hell... Great little restaurant in downtown boonville. Lots of choices on the menu. Their Greek dishes are extraordinary!!! Service was excellent. Very clean. Decor has not been updated in a while but we were there for a good meal after a long ride on the Katy trail and got just that and more. read more
