I have been going to Dr. Matilda Palacin for years and she has done extensive work on my teeth implants crowns the last time I was there I could tell she had a new staff there I was given x-rays then told y some other guy in another office I needed all of this extensive work done on my teeth that would come to $3030 was pretty shocked I then got a brochure stating all the bad health situations such as dementia,Alzheimer's cancer, stroke, respiratory infection,diabetes,pancreatic and liver cancer osteopenia and arthritis. what can happen to me if I didn't have this work done I left the office in shock. Yesterday I had an appointment with my physician and he looked at my gums and my gums looked fine and did not have gingivitis (my gums don't bleed). I brush regularly, floss, and use a dental pic on my teeth several times a day. My doctor said it looks like her office has been bought and they're looking to get more money in. They are not clear with the billing charges. We were fully approved by the financing company for three crowns, they said we needed to pay extra charges that were not covered by the insurance or by the financial company in advance. I am not coming I back, I feel they are not honest. They do have modern equipment but now I'm not even sure if we really need all the services they said we needed. read more

Its true. THIS OFFICE IS A SCAM!. The minute they found out I have insurance they started looking for ways to increase my services. I went there for a dental cleaning. They held me for 90 minutes. the hygienist left my whole mouth full of blisters from the unnecessary x-rays she took. As I said, they showed absolutely no problems. finally, they denied me service. Total SCAM. I do have gum inflammation but when I went in they said I needed a $700 deep cleaning without explaining anything in detail. I have no bone loss and no periodontal disease that warrants an invasive deep cleaning. I was refused even a basic cleaning. Then they said that I had 7 cavities that needed to be filled. It's been a couple years now but I'm still going to write this. I went to this place and felt something was off. I've had one cavity my entire life and when I came in for a cleaning and checkup they told me I had 5 cavities! FIVE. I was shocked but the dr said so it must be true. But deep down I knew something was fishy. At the moment I didn't have the money to fix all them at once so I just fixed one. My old one that had cracked and was bothering me. THANKFULLY my insurance changed and I changed dentists. I got checked by two different dentists and I have 0.... ZERO CAVITIES. This office is a total scam. The dental hygienist is nice and kind. The dentist is a total rampage, she's not gentle rips your mouth open and rummages around your mouth as if you're out under anesthesia. She always finds something even though nothing is there. I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. I am anal about my dental health. Last time I went to this dentist she said I grind my teeth....they tried selling me a 350$+ mouth guard. That I have a fracture in my tooth and needed 3 fillings to fix this. I went to another dentist to get a second opinion...they said I have beautiful teeth...NO signs of grinding, and needed no fillings. I am truly disappointed in this dental office and would NOT recommend them to anyone. Save your time and go somewhere else. read more

Do NOT GO HERE. This place is TERRIBLE!!! I had my first filling done here and it's chipped TWICE in only two months since I've had it done. The second time I had to come back to fix it the "Dr." told me I was being sensitive and tried to normalize fillings chipping that easily! She was incredibly condescending and told me I was "right" sarcastically after telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and that I was being sensitive. Apparently I had the same scam issue as other people on this review. I went to Palacin dental to get a teeth cleaning. I had a teeth cleaning 3 months prior at another dentist. I wanted to try another dentist just to change things up. I had no sensitivity or any problems. Barbie at Palacin said I needed a deep cleaning due to inflammation and to fill several cavity's and 4 broken fillings. She brought me in a room to discuss prices which I thought was odd. The deep cleaning itself would be 890.00. A lightbulb in my head said SCAM. They wanted me to pay 125.00 to join their club for discounts too. What a joke!!!!!! Barbie must get a percentage of the sale to do this to me. Stay away from this FRAUD factory. I will be calling the department of professional regulations. read more

Worst dentist I have ever gone to. I was told I needed 7 fillings. My husband was told he needed a deep cleaning. Unfortunately I didn't read these reviews before going here. Charged my husband $890.00 for deep cleaning that would take 2 visits. He decided not to go for the second visit. The only way we got our refund was threatening to sue. I went to have fillings. The dental tech only numbed one side of my mouth then the dentist put the needle in until I stopped her. They let me gag on debris from the filling, I had to sit up and spit it out. The dentist kept hitting my teeth with the metal equipment while working in my mouth. Neither the dentist nor assistant apologized for the errors. Then she told me I had another cavity and to make another appointment. I went to another dentist and one of the molars she filled is so close to the nerve and she filed the tooth so much that I need a root canal now. I wonder if she really is a dentist. I should have checked yelp prior to going to this nut. read more

Do not go to them! I prepaid to get a lot of work done they did one side of my mouth I had a lot of problems with after she did the one side. she filled my natural teeth down so much when I close mouth they do not touch any more! Then the bridge she put in did not fit right but she refused to fix it. When I said I wanted my money back for the other side that I do not want to get the rest done with them any more they would not give it back. It took over a month to get some of the money owed to me nut they "changed" the price of everything so I never got a lot of money owed to me. When I went in there the last day they laughed and made fun of me and how bad my teeth were when I started crying they didn't stop laughing. Stay away from these people!!! They are scammers. They told me I needed a deep cleaning with Antibiotics, because my gums were swollen and were infected. And they were going fall out. This cost 600.00. So then they said they were not going to do a regular cleaning because my teeth were clean and I did not need one. I needed a deep cleaning. Then they told me I needed to redo my fillings that were not giving me any problems. Then they told me I had 10 cavities that were on multiple surfaces. I knew I have a few but this was a bit much. 3,000 dollars later, I left and sought out a couple of other dentists. I got two second opinions and both were the same. Both dentist agreed; I did not need a deep cleaning or to change out my original fillings and That I had very healthy gums and teeth. I did need few cavities and a root canal, But I knew that going in. And don't get me started on their fees. The Palacin groups fees are astronomical. You can find better prices else were. read more

We went for a routine check-up & cleaning. They wanted to charge my wife $238 for a more thorough cleaning. I only agreed because she sometimes bleed. Then they wanted to replace a crown that she had done not even a year ago with another dentist for $800! With me they wanted to replace my implant even though I have no problems with it for $3000! They also wanted me to do a deep cleaning. I said no, I only wanted the basic cleaning the insurance would pay for, They said no! Can they refuse a cleaning that a patient wants because he's not willing to pay extra? They wanted $4000 between the two of us! I don't have any issue with my mouth, no pain , no bleeding, no halitosis and people always compliment me on my smile. The dentist however insists that I have periondontal disease and gingivtis and if I don't fork over all of my money my teeth will fall out tomorrow! I brush ,floss, and use mouthwash daily and yet three different people tried to convince me to part with my money. I told them I'm not a bank & I didn't hit the lottery! Afterwards I went to my chiropractor in the same shopping center. I told him of my experience and he told me that other patients of his also complain about what a ripoff this place is! Now these reviews are more like it rather then the bs ones I just read on Google about this place which I am sure were written by the actual staff. This place is a scam and they are lying to their patients. I have been called repeatedly by this office for the past 6 months stating I needed to come in to have my deep cleaning because I was on the verge of a periodontal decease plus had a couple cavities and one in my front tooth. Who has cavities in their front teeth? I'm sure it's possible but coming from someone who is not prone to cavities nor do I eat junk food for that matter. I felt some type of way about this and decided to go for a second opinion. Sure enough, I have no cavities, didn't need a deep cleaning and my teeth are perfect. I spent a couple hundred dollars dealing with this office and their lies for the past two years. Luckily for me I did not pay the $600 they wanted to charge me for some procedure which I didn't even understand what they were telling me was wrong with my gums. I have been going to Palacin Dental Group in the Shenadoah Shopping center for about 4 years now. I'm not sure why some people are writing the negative reviews, they can't be going to the office in the Shenadoah shopping center. I love this dentist. All of the people who work there are the sweetest group of people. I have never had a problem with the work I received and I have had plenty of work done. I've found them to be honest, provide great dental service, while making suggestions on future issues that may occur. Never have they told me that I needed work that wasn't really needed. When you first visit the dentist your teeth are evaluated and a plan of action is created with the findings. You have the choice to do as much as you want/need or as much as you can afford at the time. I'll admit that it takes you back a little because, really who likes to know you have a plan of action with your dentist. It is what it is for each individual as far as your treatment plan is concerned. This office makes you feel like you are family and the office staff is on top of things, and I can't say that about most office staff in the dental or medical field. They Do Not over charge you. I have dental insurance and believe me, they would immediately let me know that the charges are out of line with the standards. I was referred by 2 of my friend one of them does not have insurance and has to pay cash, she would be the first to complain about the cost and service and she doesn't. I have never waited more than 10/15 minutes to see the dentist unless it was an emergency that couldn't be helped, but the front office staff lets you know what the delay is. I was there today and would not change a thing about the service, people, price or treatment. I would recommend this dental service to anyone I know. read more
