Every time I've stopped by to drop off a donation of food items, the employees and volunteers have been very helpful. Parking is very limited, with all the trucks and other equipment in the lot, so it's good that someone is usually outside to help. They allow me to stop at the front, and even bring a dolly and unload the food from my car to bring it in. They will also provide a written donation receipt, upon request. With the number of families losing their homes and everything during the recent storms, it's reassuring that the Hawaii Foodbank will be there to help provide relief.

It takes a special kind of person with dedication and commitment to operate a successful program like this. Including loving, caring, understanding, compassionate and grateful. Sounds easy but I can tell you it's very hard work just as a volunteer. There's a lot of behind the scenes support from the team like truck drivers on the road all day to the warehouse crew providing logistical assistance day in and out. Administration and Management to the custodians and maintenance people keeping things clean and running. MAHALO PLENTY TO EACH AND EVERYONE. You're the BEST! Never go hungry.

They are there every Saturday and are the first vendor on the left as you walk in the main entrance. I had a great experience. Top notch customer service. The owner is very personable and friendly. They have a small menu of only 7 food items compared to their main location in Chinatown with a larger variety menu. This menu seems to be their popular items and according to the owner, the pork belly is their best seller. Even with just these items, I still had a hard time deciding what I wanted because it all looked so good. They not only have the menu posted but a picture of each menu item. I like when businesses do that, you know what you're getting. I opted for the Double Fried Chicken. It comes with 2 pieces of boneless chicken thighs (about 3 oz each), 2 scoops of white rice, cole slaw (about 1/2 cup) & a mild sauce. The chicken was wonderful! It was lightly breaded, not over cooked but fried just right to give the chicken a good crispiness. The thigh meat was still moist and not dry from over frying. Seasoning was just right, not overly seasoned, yet still tasty. Good 'ole fried chicken as fried chicken should be. The only problem I had with the chicken was there wasn't enough. Wish there were 3 pieces. The cole slaw was surprisingly good and I'm not a big fan of cole slaw. This one I liked. It was well seasoned, not tangy, and a lite creaminess with good crunch. The sauce that came with the chicken was also good. It tasted like ketchup with a kick. Keep in mind this is not fast food and usually everything is cooked to order with food trucks. The owner did advise me the wait would be 10 - 15 minutes. I was ok with that because then I knew I was definitely getting it hot and fresh. Overall, the food was great matched with first-rate customer service. It's a place worth a return visit. Support local!

Nothing to complain about…read more.. Seriously in comparison to my town location mainly Kapiolani with a ton of people waiting in line there's no sense of urgency here...not having the tellers to rush at all but there's always a line here and it's just normal as usual so I haven't been here in months searching for the right location. Very ready to give up having to see so many in training and taking the longest time to process a simple transaction to walk away to get approval constantly is a bit frustrating and know that the nation is short staffed know also that the right place will know how to take care of their employees to keep them happy and productive see that FHB isn't one of them. With that this Moanalua location has been here forever since to my knowledge and since I was in the area decided to give them a visit and with a huge parking lot it was easy to drive in and park since I only have less than an hour before they close it was completely empty was in and out in just minutes...nothing spectacular...no frills...no problem just wished I wasn't forced to be pushed to this situation and be slightly inconvenienced. Thank you!

But I never stepped in here until just recently. In my office, many colleagues buzz about their Show and Sell event, a bazaar that is held quarterly. I love these events because you can pick up homemade goodies, plants, crsfts, books, home goods and knick knacks, while supporting our Kupuna. Built in 1969, LMPSC is State owned facility that is operated by Catholic Charities Hawaii. It holds various functions but primarily offers a venue for our senior citizens for events, activities and gatherings. LMPSC boasts as Hawaii's largest senior center in the state. My colleagues would rave over the Show and Sell event that is held quarterly here. I made it an effort to attend as it's for a good cause to support our Kupuna and I love buying homemade treats and plants. The event starts at 8am but was advised to go earlier as popular items like plants go quickly. Upon arrival I immediately found the plants section and scored 2 that appealed to me. There are many rooms and hallways with all sorts of items for sale. I even found a nice collar shirt for just $5. Score!!! I then made my way over to the food area where the smell lured me over. There were a handful of ajumma cooking away that also got my attention. Mandoo, chop chae, kimchi pancake and homemade kimchi. Mmmmm...... My eyes landed on the baked goods area where I had a hard time deciding what to get. I ended up with homemade almond cookies, energy bars and Chex party mix. I checked out and realized I spent quite a bit of $$$. I'm supporting our Kupuna so it's all good. The only setback is that this facility could sure use an upgrade. It has seen better days. With Hawai'i's aged population growing at quick rate, it would be nice to give this place a more modern look. Overall, an above average first experience and looking forward to the next Show and Sell event that will be in August 2025. Stay tuned! NOTE: I ended up returning later in the morning as my colleagues mentioned prices are slashed 30min prior to closing. Most of the vendors were wrapping things up and some already left but there were a few stalls that reduced their prices but with a limited selection to choose from.
