As we were walking up to the hotel with our luggage two bell hops spotted us and jumped out to help us. That was great and we appreciated their quick help. At check in there was one woman at the front but she asked us to wait for the second person to check us in. He came right out but was wondering why she was sitting there if not checking guests in. In any case we were extremely happy to get an early check in. He even walked us to our room. It was quite a configuration to get to our room. The elevators are so very small and scare me. I opted for the steps. Our luggage was quickly brought to our room. The rooms are clean and fine. Not a "wow". However...still...we expected better for our stay. Internet was absolutely horrendous. I kept getting pushed off. That was extremely frustrating. I finally had hot spot to my phone. Television did NOT work...only 2 channels and we could not get them on. No wash cloths in the room. I had to use a towel. Cold linoleum floors. People we met said they did not have shower water! They were told it happened in the entire hotel which was obviously not true. Flimsy cloth window shading. The noise from the street was loud and made sleeping difficult. The light switches were very confusing. I think they are backwards. Make sure you bring an adaptor if you are from the states. There is no accommodation for 110 voltage. Luckily the bed was comfortable. This hotel was part of our Regent Cruise line package. I was a bit skeptical when I read reviews but could not change location based on that. 3.5 overall rating is a bit generous but most are old reviews. read more

Disappointing for a 5 star hotel! Starting with the positives: - location is really good since it's right across the street from the central train station. - the staff is friendly and helpful and you feel welcome staying there - the breakfast is quite good - they have a made to order crepe and pancake station and buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto. That's all I really wanted :) Unfortunately the negatives are pretty significant: - our key cards stopped working or never worked at all; in the end they told us that there is something wrong with the computer system and gave us the physical key for the door - there was an event going on in the restaurant for one of the nights and it was actually pretty loud in my friend's room....maybe better sound proofing is needed. - the shower was horrific in my room. Water was warm but couldn't really get hotter and the rainfall shower was not providing an even water flow, some part would be strong while the other side feels like a sprinkle. The other hand held shower head was also not very good. This is a very modern/trendy hotel that should've been a lot more than it is currently. read more

From the moment I passed through the gates, the spectacular service started - the porter took my bag, and escorted me to the check-in counter. Stanislav assisted me and was extremely helpful, fluent in English - and helped process the check-in and escorted me to the most spectacular room in the palazzo. Everything here was magical. The bathroom is ultra modern and sleek, yet it works in harmony with the room's old world gorgeous coffered ceiling. If you ever get room 207, you're in for a treat. This room also comes with a mobile phone loaded with tours and audio guides of the city. I may just use it tomorrow. As for the breakfast and spa, I have yet to experience them. I'm only talking about the room. And considering the location, it's remarkably quiet at night. read more

My experience was amazing at th Radisson Montemartini in September 2023. My room was upgraded to the Junior Noble Suite since the hammam in my room was not working. It was also my birthday and welcoming us with desserts and wine added to the special experience. The location is great if you want to walk to the train station but not for other sites. There is an incredible museum next door called the Museo Nazionale Romano. I would absolutely stay again and by the way the breakfast is amazing! read more

This hotel, between its charm, its location, and its service really blew us away! We started a ten day journey through Italy, Greece and Turkey here with a couple of days and loved it. The hotel was well kept, the room well done and spacious, the breakfast perfect. And what really made the difference was the personal and attentive service from each member of the staff. (I will warn you, when they say watch your belongings in Rome for pick pockets, they aren't kidding. This was truly a comfortable and clean room and hotel. The staff very accommodating and friendly. The shower and bath rooms are so very well stocked, from very absorbing towels and robes to beauty items. Night Lights in the bath along the under sink not only useful and clever but pretty. The king size leather bed and bedding are perfectly comforting with fantastic windows which open out to the city. Only one criticism would be to have room darkening shades for the jet lag days. Otherwise I'm an early riser. I would turn the treadmill towards the windows to look out while working out. Loved this place! read more

This Hotel was awesome. The staff was all very friendly. Veronica walked us to our room and showed us everything. The room was top notch. Extra modern and sleek just how I like it. Frosted glass, white leather. Big TV. The bathroom was unparalleled. A huge shower with plush fluffy white robes. One of the best showers I have taken. They had all the music video stations but not much was free. This is your typical over priced extras hotel. I think is was like €270 for an hour massage. Mini bar was hidden in the bench, didn't even see it. They did have free internet, always a bonus. Great king bed. Cool purple rug set the room design off. Flexible bed light and plugs next to the bed as well. Had a great Martini on the rooftop bar which was beautiful. They had no olives. Tsk tsk, you have Martini in your name, gotta have olives at the bar. Breakfast was off the chain, they had the best krapfen (little powered doughnut hole thingz) of anywhere. The positives: Good location. Friendly Receptionist. Modern, clean rooms. Right next to Termininstation and yet didn't hear the noise. Walkable distance to a few sights but major ones need a taxi or bus. The negatives: Senses restaurant food just ok. Fitness center very small. Refrigerator in both of our rooms was ridiculously loud, turning on for 5 seconds every few minutes. Annoying. Air condition in one of our rooms stopped working on our last night stay. read more

This is really a 3 1/2 star hotel posing as a 5 star. No coffee / tea facilities in our room which we have never come across in a 5 star hotel before. When we phoned reception to ask where the coffee / tea machine was we were informed that the type of room we had booked didn't have a machine but the they could provide us with a kettle and Nescafé sachets / tea bags. Italy is supposed to be renowned for its coffee and when you stay in a hotel of this star rating you expect to have coffee facilities in your room. Bottled water was only provided on the first night and after that we would have to pay 6 euros per bottle, we have never experienced this before as usually it's complimentary in a 5 star hotel. Breakfast - this was not an enjoyable experience . The hot food was being kept warm with one small liquid burner and the food was never hot. We stayed 5 nights and the second to last morning the burners had gone out and we had to tell the dining room manager about this as none of the waiters had noticed it ! He apologised, then proceeded to re-light the burners under the now cold inedible food, instead of replacing with fresh food. We believe this to be unsatisfactory and unsafe procedure. We were never offered the choice of having freshly made eggs, or omelettes as the menu was never presented on the tables. Orange juice was never offered and we only realised you could order fresh juice when another guest had asked if there was any available. The coffee at breakfast was always lukewarm which was also really annoying. There was a chef who just stood staring into space for the whole time waiting to cook pancakes that nobody seemed to want! Her time would be better spent preparing omelettes or fried eggs! Spa - It is not clear when booking that there is a charge of 20€ to use the spa. Access to the spa is free to guests in all 5 star hotels we have previously stayed in. Extending check out time - When we asked if we could extend our check out time as our flight was at 8.15 pm we were told that the hotel was fully booked. We had a look on the hotel website and Expedia and both sites were showing lots of available rooms !. This we found very unsatisfactory. read more

Mixed feelings... My wife and I booked 1 week in Palazzo Montemartini through Voyageprive.com, including 1 dinner at the Senses resturant and a massage for 2 in the Spa. When we arrived, we were offered a coffee & tea at the beautiful Senses restaurant. The staff was very welcoming. Then we went to our Collection room and found it nicely decorated. Nothing extravagant but modern style, which we like. In the evening we received a bottle of spumante in our room together with a personalized letter from the hotel manager. Again, we appreciated this attention and started to feel like in a 5 star hotel. It was confirmed when we went to the Senses restaurant for dinner and to the Spa. The cocktail, dinner and wine were excellent. The place is gorgeous, really looks like the pictures. We also had the breakfast served in the Senses restaurant (from Tuesday to Thursday). The buffet is gourmet, high quality food and delicious crepes were made on demand. Then we went to the Spa. The place is very modern, top quality, and hostesses/masseuses had strong attention to details. Well, until now, everything seems perfect, so why did we only put 3 stars? Because the 2nd part of the week was much less pleasant. Point# 1: Since we visited a lot Rome, we realized day after day that the hotel is quite far away from the city center. There is no much to do around the hotel. Termini station is surrounded by tramps. So no choice than go to the city center to visit. We walked 13-15 kms/day, of which 30% of this distance required to from the hotel to the city center were most areas of interests are. At the end of the week we were more reluctant to walk to the different places and used uber which did cost on average 18-20€ each time. At the end of the week, it is quite a budget, especially if like us you come back to the hotel to change and go back to the city center or Trastevere to find a nice place to eat. Point# 2: when we went back to the hotel on Friday evening (22:45), there was a huge party organized in the Senses restaurant. Very loud music, many very young ladies dressed on high heels, short skirts, hanging around in the lobby. What a surprise for such a hotel. We went back to our room, located just above the restaurant and realized that the hotel is not sound proofed at all, especially for such loud music. We called reception to complain and they promised that it would stop at midnight. We could not even hear the sound of our own television!!! Impossible to read to wait. Impossible to sleep either. At 20 past midnight we called again the reception to complain again. They promised it would stop in 10 minutes. It finished at 1AM and after that they started to move around all tables generating some noise again. It was quiet at 2am... In the morning, we went to the reception to ask for the hotel manager. To keep us waiting the concierge took care of us and offered us a coffee. After many back and forth discussion they offered us a dinner for 2 (including local wine) at the restaurant on Saturday evening. We had to change our saturday evening plans to " enjoy " the " compensation ". It sounded like it was the best we could get as a compensation of our night without sleep in a palace... During the whole day, despite the fact that we asked specifically to speak to the hotel Manager and gave our personal phone number, we never got the chance to discuss live with the hotel manager. The concierge (extremely nice person, very helpful) was our contact for the whole process. We thus went to the Senses restaurant and indeed did not pay for the meal but were invoiced 7€ for a bottle of sparkling water and did not get the promised wine. We also felt a different attitude of the staff vs our 1st dinner (which we paid for) at the Senses. Just did the job. Nothing more. All of this could have been avoided. We could have received a letter in our room to tell us that this event was planned and would last until 1 AM. The staff knew that this event was booked and should never have given us a room that is right above the party. They could have offered to give us a different room, proactively, just for that night. And certainly the manager should have been in front line to address the complaint and not send his concierge. So, in the end, mixed feelings. My wife and I are used to travel the world for business and stay in 4/5 star hotels. We have had many experiences to compare with. Most of the staff is smiling, caring as you would expect in a 5-star Hotel. The hotel is a very elegant and rooms are OK. But organizing such events at the expense of your customers who booked a room to sleep in your Palace hotel is absolutely not OK. And apparently such parties are frequent. The manager did not call us at any time to handle direct'y the complaint is not OK either for a Palace. It all started well. It's a shame it did not end up the same despite some efforts to " compensate ". The tagline is " The Exceptional ". Quite not there yet. read more

Our stay at Palazzo Montemartini was great. We arrived in Rome really early in the morning and we were able to check in as soon as we got to the hotel, no wait at all. The room is clean and the hotel offers it's guests the use of a cell phone which made it easy to get around the city. We also took advantage of the great spa. The hotel also has a nice rooftop bar for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. read more

The experience at the hotel itself was excellent, beautiful property and service. Two bad experiences at the end of the trip changed our view though: 1) The hotel booked us a car to go to the airport. We asked for a taxi but they booked us a private transfer, which is more expensive but still fine. The problem is that the driver was either under the effect of drugs or had some health issues, so the experience for me and my family (with an 8-month old baby) was terrifying. I called the hotel to report the issue and they told me they would give me feedback immediately by email or phone. A day later I still haven't received a call back which is disappointing for a 5-star hotel service. 2) The hotel charged us €7 per night per person for city taxes and I realised when I got home that this was included in the booking.com booking. Well, staff was exceptional, very helpfull And they can Book everything for You, from transportation to tours. We didn't Like pillows in our Room, they were so hard, I had pain in my neck every day. Also, first night I were using shower cup, one time use, and they never replace it. Breakfast was poor.You can not order omlet or just fried eggs. They have only powder scrambled eggs. We enjoyed our stay at Palazzo Montemartini. It has nice spa that includes: sauna, Turkish sauna (steam room), pool with faucet to massage back, Jacuzzi, cold shower, cold and warm breeze showers as well cold and hot rain showers (those showers change color of water coming from shower, have different aroma for rain and breeze as well as water intensity coming from shower (very nice). Service was great, room always clean, room and bathroom size was big enough. Breakfast had good variety. read more

The hotel is right next to termini: good and bad: the area is not an upscale place and smells like S... But the hotel is of course accessible and easy to get to. I haven't been to other hotels in Rome. But this one I think was overpriced ($300/night) for its location and quality of service. The breakfast buffet was just OK. Nothing extraordinary with scrambled eggs and sausages. They charged extra if you wanted to get omelette. The real nice thing about the hotel is the spa. If you decide to go here, make sure you "reserve" the spa. read more

Stayed here for eight nights. Love the mixture of clean modern look/interior in a classic building. Room spacious and bathroom huge and ultramodern. Service great, personnel super helpful and friendly. Senses resturant a pleasant surprise with its sophisticated dishes at reasonable prices for the level of cooking in a unique setting with classic columns and 20 ft ceiling. Location super convenient next to the train station. Finally the classy roof bar a big plus. read more

A hidden gem in Rome. Everything was excellent. I would never consider staying in a different hotel in Rome.

The hotel was lovely and clean with modern rooms. Quite noisy from the street below. The biggest let down was that the swimming pool and spa is 20 Euros per person per day to use if you are not in the most expensive rooms. Even then you have to be over 16 to use it so our 15 year old was very disappointed. For what was rated as a 5 star hotel, there was very little available in terms of facilities. For example, the bathroom facilities were poor (cheap shampoo/shower gel combined and no conditioner provided) and the room was pretty basic. Also the rooftop bar (which was one of the reasons we selected this hotel) wasn't open - seemingly because the changeable weather would have meant more effort from the staff to maintain the area. Commission was charged by the hotel for booking tickets to events - it was cheaper to book online. I'd expect this to be a free service offered for the guests. Tea at €16 for 2 cups was also excessive. On the plus side, it was a good location and there was free use of a phone with useful apps. read more

The hotel is well located, clean and very modern, the staff is extremely nice. Unfortunately the first room we got was far below our expectations - the room had no windows, only one chair and not in line with what was shown on pictures. Thankfully, we got upgraded to a better room just because AC was not working in our room, but in general the hotel has to improve their clients expectations management. read more

Very friendly staff and excellent spa ($20 entrance fee as guest for use of sauna etc although jacuzzi needs to be warmer). Rooms also need tea / coffee service and hotel should provide irons and ironing table upon request rather than force you to use the pressing service. Breakfast was nice and rooms were comfortable. We smashed a glass and housekeeping cleaned it up in our room very quickly without any fuss at all. WiFi worked without issues for us. Good location with metro 4 mins walk and Colloseum 15-20 mins walk etc. read more

This was my 4th stay at Palazzo Montemartini for business. The hotel and room was as beautiful as ever. I was greeted by a friendly bellman when I arrived and the front desk check in was smooth. I had breakfast in the restaurant which was wonderful. All in keeping with prior experience. For that the hotel deserves the 4 rating. Yet after that first morning, I had a few experiences that left me feeling less welcome and satisfied, a few staff interactions that were not so warm, as if I didn't belong. Lots of noise at late hours near my room worth mentioning but didn't personally bother me. Lastly, the 6am checkout experience was just bizarre, though not the fault of the hotel but a sketchy couple. All the little issues made me wonder if there has been a management change. I'll try a different hotel in my next trip because above all, I don't want to feel unwelcome in any place at which I am a guest. read more

I almost hate to post this review as the hotel was mostly nice. However, the hotel is surrounded by busy streets and near the train station with a bus stop on one side. Well, heck, that's great for transportation, right?! The thing was that the windows were single pane thin glass with really old frames that let so much street sound in, that we did not get much sleep. Every time a bus or other vehicle came down the side street and hit the man-hole cover, it would sound like two loud hammer strikes. This happened about every twenty minutes or so. The bus noise was loud, but the people getting off of them and or walking down the street were louder. The first night, I thought it was a fluke, but every night around 3 or so in the morning and again later, someone would be walking up the street outside our window yelling. The shops across the street opened up their gated doors around 6 am. The metal doors raising were as loud as the rest of it. Apparently, Rome doesn't sleep. Neither will you if you stay here. We stayed in room 214. I did not see much way that any of the other rooms would have been better as they all seemed to be on the street one way or another. I also, after the second night with one night to go did not want to move all my stuff to another room. The bed was okay, but the pillows were pretty hard and flat for my taste. For the money, this hotel drops that one ball severely. It really is a shame, because, otherwise it was very nice with nice staff, good breakfast and nicely appointed rooms. Some of the little extras were so-so. The robes (nice, right!) belt loops were frayed and worn out a bit. And the slippers (I know!) were both a size 6 maybe. The wife was fine, but I wear an 11. Those were just little things that you notice when you don't get much sleep. read more

Hotel and service was great. Only problem we had was with the airport transfer the hotel organised. The fare should have been the standard 48 euros but when got to the airport the driver demanded 65 euros and was quite aggressive. Id recommend the hotel doesnt use this driver/company again and that other guests organise their own transfers. read more

We were a family of four staying for five nights in June and have nothing but excellent things to say about the hotel. The staff was very helpful and courteous, our two rooms were just as they appeared in their website, the bedding was very comfortable and all was modern, immaculate and with all the conveniences one expects in a hotel with a 5 star rating. One wonderful little perk was the temporary smart phone that allows for use outside the premises and was really, really helpful in navigating our way through the city, making local phone calls, finding restaurants, etc. The hotel restaurant was lovely and delicious. Also, when I made the reservations, I hadn't realized that it was just across the street from the Termini train station (albeit tucked away), which turned out to be such a plus as we traveled on by train to Florence, and it definitely minimized the time it would have otherwise taken us to purchase our tickets and depart. They also have a beautiful spa area which, unfortunately, we were too busy to utilize. read more

Arrived with son and told I needed to pay upfront for the hotel room and they wanted a deposit of 100 euros per night. The later would be returned on departure I obviously looked aghast at this and was informed that if it was not paid and we did not take up the booking I would be charged a cancellation fee. We left Sunday lunch time and deposit has still not hit my account. Three hundred pounds deposit is ludicrous, made me feel like an untrustworthy guest. Also told that we could only access the Spa if we paid 20 euros each. Spa therefore not visited. The money I had to pay out for the deposit was going to be spent on sale items for my son who is at university, consequently all I could afford was a jumper and not the coat I wanted to buy him. The room was adequate but sparse. The hotel is devoid of character there is no ambience.The breakfast was good. There is no relaxing area just to chill out and it all looks very minimalistic and practical. Good for a business trip if someone else is paying and it is near the station which is good for metro. read more
