I am new to this process and still developing an eye for what the finished product should look like. My tech was so personally and nice that I forgot to check the quality befor I left. The pinky of one nail needed another coat compared to the other one. One of my thumbs had dents from the UV machine-I think when it went in I didn't realize it scraped the edge. Another nail had a hump towards the nail bed and dipped mid nail. The first time I had them done I was in St Louis and the technique was quite different. When the tech dipped the nail, her next step was to tap the powder off by tapping my finger in a side ways motion. My first experience was that the excess powder was removed with a kabuki brush. Instead of spraying my hands with a solution like this tech did after my last application, I washed my hands. This is to remove any residual product. I was charged $5 to remove the previous nails. The only questionable instance was when one mail did not nudge after 30 min soaking. Instead of applying more acetone and letting it soak; she pulled off the thick nail residue. My daughter warned me that this ruins your natural nail. The gel pedicure and dipped manicure took nearly two hours. I will return the next day to see how it will go to fix my nails. The policy is within one week. The original tech wasn't there but after waiting a few minutes another tech repaired my nails quickly. The tech was pleasant and polite. When I went on a Sat there was only 2 other people there. I did call ahead for an appt. I will say that this is the first nail salon that I have been to outside of Aveda that actually asks how do you want your toe nails to be shaped. I find this so frustrating and 99% of all nail shops that they don't bothers ask and you don't feel like you can ask. Detected a great job forming my nails in the rounded shape.

I decided to try Glitz and Glam, and have been a loyal customer to Peter. His wife does my waxing and from the start when i told her i break out from the hit wax, she has used wax for sensitive skin. The first time Peter removed my dipping powder nails after I'd been to Queen, he said my fingers were red and itchy bc the girl had used acrylic! I told the girls every time that I couldn't wear acrylic - my fingers crack and bleed and itch. Although I drive a little farther, it is so worth the trip. The salon is large, airy, and new in appearance. One problem: I have asked Peter not to take a vape break out back when working on me bc I am allergic to the tar, however during my pedi he usually runs out for a quick smoke, so he smells of tobacco. When I arrived, I signed into their kiosk and we were immediately greeted by several employees. They pointed us to our seats and then asked us which pedicure we wanted. They have a lot of options. Normally I would have chosen basic, just due to the $35 price tag, but decided to go with the Royal, which was $45. First we got to pick our polish color, and then we got to pick the "flavor" we wanted for our lotion and foot scrub. I opted for mint. Laura was my nail tech and was very pleasant and cheerful. This is a newer nail salon and it always appears to be bright and clean. She got started on filling up my tub with warm water. Laura did a great job of really massaging my feet and legs. I think that's the biggest takeaway with getting the royal pedicure is they really spend the time massaging your legs and feet, which I really needed. All the chairs are equipped with a massage. We were also asked if we wanted a beverage, they had water, soda, etc. Laura was also very meticulous when it came to my polish and spent a lot of time making sure it was just right, which I really appreciated. My pedicure took about 45-50 minutes and then I stayed an extra 10 minutes to have my pedicure dry. Laura was even nice enough to put my flipflops on, so I wouldn't ruin the polish.
