Very cute interior, clearly well thought out and designed to be a photo/insta location. The colors and decor all flowed well. But beyond that, they have wonderful flavors! We tried about 7 in our group and they were all good. Tasted high quality and you could distinguish what the flavor was supposed to be. Fresh made on site I would guess. The order process is a little difficult w use they have so many flavors spread out over about 15 feet of displays. Hard to pick what you want without running back and forth to see if you would miss anything! The seating areas were nice and had lots of seating. Disappointed to see that the bathroom was out of order and just had an envelope with a handwritten message on it. Really took away from the experience. But would enjoy again!
It's hard to say anything bad about this place!…read more The line is long, but it's full of excitement and gawking at everyone's gelato and seeing their faces when they take their first taste. Also, the line moves pretty quickly. At $7.19 for the regular (two flavors), it's not cheap (PR McDonald's vanilla ice cream cone is $0.99 for comparison!), but it's definitely worth doing (at least) once. The flavors are all extremely unique and it's a mystery what may be in a specific flavor (e.g. Pavlova and mixed berries), but you can try to your heart's content for free. In the end, I doubt there is a "bad" flavor. My favorites were cookieman (like Oreo cookies in a vanilla base) and chocolate cookie. Pistachio was good, but a taster would have sufficed. Sadly, they did not have a mint and chip!

It was such a delicious treat! This gelato shop is located on Ashford Avenue in Condado. There were…read moremounds of gelato with so many unique flavors & combinations. We just couldn't pass it up. So, let's talk about the history. It all started out as "Anita La Mamma del Gelato" in Tel Aviv back in 2002. "La Mamma del Gelato" that you see on the walls inside this shop represent the mother (Anita Avital) & son (Nir) duo who started it all. It's grown to many more locations to include NYC and Miami. There's even a sub-brand of Anita Gelato called "Golda Gilda" that is very popular in Israel. I have to be honest when stating that I've never heard of either gelato brands until seeing this shop near our hotel. We each decided to get the smallest cup size that includes 2 flavors. I selected Pavlova Mixed Berries and Chocolate Pistachio & Kadayif. There was a white chocolate version of it as well, but I decided to stick with the traditional milk chocolate. I don't remember what flavors my husband picked out. I'm pretty sure he enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed mine. I especially loved the chocolate pistachio one. That layer of pistachio cream & crispy kadayif was delightful. I didn't taste any pavlova in the mixed berry gelato, but it was still wonderful. They're very good about giving out samples for those who are unsure and want to get the perfect flavor. I wish we had returned to try more. It was a delicious & relaxing experience. The service was great. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. We fortunately arrived in the late afternoon when it wasn't too busy. Definitely do not pass this one up when in Condado.

Gelato while you…read morewait Piccolo Gelato is located right in the Luis Marin Airport in San Juan. Not a whole lot of restaurants in this airport so the choices are very limited. The little open restaurant has some sandwiches and of course gelato. Not a lot of places to sit and eat, certainly nothing like the food courts at most airports. You just take your gelato and find a place to sit where ever you can. I'm hardly an expert on gelato but the gelato here tasted more like ice cream to me. Certainly not the silky smooth gelato than literally melts in your mouth I've had in other places. The serving sizes were quite small the prices fairly high for what you got. Just a very small cup that was gone in a very short time. Of course this is an airport and prices tend to be higher than usual. They probably know the choices are quite limited and there isn't a whole lot to do in this airport while you wait for your next flight. I certainly would have been disappointed with the gelato, serving size and price if it was anywhere else. But when there is nothing else, just about anything seems decent.
