We (unfortunately) hired Paley to plant some trees as a buffer in our back yard. Phil said the trees would not grow where we needed them and suggested some bushes instead. He said he would plant the bushes and come back in a few days to check. The bushes were planted, we followed his watering instructions ( even bought new hoses!). We never saw Phil again!!! we called and told him the bushes had died. there was always an excuse as to why he could not come back. when I finally asked for a refund , he said " no refund but he would replace the bushes one time". That was June 26 and have not heard from him since!!! And he "Prides" himself in customer service? This is one customer who is sorry we used him! read more

First negative review I have ever written but this could not pass without publication. We had Paley install a short flagstone walkway from our house level down to the yard. Simple right! Paley missed the yard elevation by over 8 inches. So now our flagstone path was 8 inches too high at the end. Not only that, but the quality of masonary work was the poorest I have ever seen. Long story short, the walkway was so bad, we had it torn out in just a few weeks by another hardscape company and had a new walkway installed. The quality difference between companies was night and day. When we tore out Paley's walkway, we found that he had built it on top of topsoil. There was no attempt at any type of solid foundation. Two things to remember when dealing with Paley Landscaping: 1) Keep it simple (spreading mulch, pinestraw, yard clean up, etc.). I would NOT use them for any HARDSCAPE WORK. From my experience, Paley does NOT have the skills needed to deliver a quality job. 2) And most important, don't pay him until the job is finished and you are totally satisifed with the project. Philip and his crew were great. They worked quickly to spread a significant amount of wood chips around the property to create a walking path around the HOA Clubhouse. They did additional work with landscaping around the pool/tennis area creating a clean/minimalist update to our common grounds. We felt like we did not get our moneys worth with this landscaping company. The estimate seemed high, but we figured they would do a great job and it would be worth it. They did not perform several tasks that we asked them to do (basic things like removing weeds and trimming bushes) but still charged us a premium. Our yard should have looked fabulous for the price that we paid (almost $2,000), and it definitely did not. We emailed Paley with our complaints and he never responded, so we wrote a negative review on his website and he deleted it. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for your landscaping services. read more

These guys were tremendous in making my backyard landscaping project successful! Phillip was able to turn my concept into reality, suggested improvements, kept in communication through email, phone calls & text, and delivered at a reasonable rate. Negatives: I typically don't post reviews but felt compelled to after our experience with Phil. We first contacted Phil March 15th to replace our very small yard with landscaping - various plants / mulch and install new stone in our drive. We met in person then corresponded via email regarding plant types and requested an install date. We realize Phil was extremely busy but we never received timely responses to our emails. It usually took a follow up email to get a reply. Additionally, our install date kept getting pushed back and pushed back and by the time he finally gave us a firm date to do the work, it was June 1st. By this point, it was so late in the year and so hot that we now have dying plants, despite diligent watering. A few weeks later our grass started to grow through the mulch. We emailed Phil three times asking which product we should use to combat the issue or see if he could come out and take care of this (since the grass was supposed to be removed prior to our new landscaping in the first place). I emailed him about our displeasure with his response time. He said he would come out the next day and stated how he prides himself on being in good communication with his clients. He never showed. I emailed once more to get his recommendation on a product choice, because by this point we had just decided to buy the grass killer product and do it ourselves...no response, no show. Positives: Their 2 days of work went smoothly. Seemed like a nice guy when we met him but we definitely did not receive the attention we deserved and paid for. read more

Mr. Paley is very busy, so sometimes it's hard to get a firm commitment for a visit, but the work itself is excellent quality and he is a very warm and personable guy. I think he's quite honest and fair -- which is not always the case with many! read more
