It's fine by me. This is one of the few places that allow rapid fire, which I appreciate immensely. $20 an hour isn't too steep a fee. Inexpensive targets, ear protection, and eye protection. Range officer isn't breathing down your neck. Yes, it's in a "hood"... but so is any other range within 20 minutes of here. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is for cleanliness, order, and lighting. Kinda dingey, kinda dim. This is my go-to range though. read more

One of the most dependable guns & ammo stores in PBC, with a great shooting range, Palm Beach Shooting Center is fantastic. I've been coming here for a couple of years now, and they have a great operation. Professional and friendly, their staff is very knowledgable on the latest stock in all calibers and brands of handguns, rifles, shotguns, and more. Normally, I go there to practice with at least a couple of my pieces; and occasionally, may rent an AK or another handgun in case I'm considering a new purchase. The range is great, with at least 16 lanes where you can fire handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Pricing for range use is reasonable. Like most ranges, they only allow brass casing if you're firing a handgun or rifle (although, there are a couple of exception regarding 223/5.52 and 7.62 ammunition. Additionally, they don't allow birdshot if you're firing a shotgun. They have a vast selection of different cases, extra magazine clips, cleaning supplies, targets, and more. It's definitely a great center for all guns and ammo needs. Additionally, they offer classes for self defense and concealed carry. I've been a semi-competitive target shooter for most of my life and it has been a hobby that serves me well. Hunting isn't part of my repertoire for a host of conflicting reasons. I'm a vegetarian and an avid consumer of animals (I only eat vegetarians) but I simply don't want to kill an animal that I will not consume. However, proper ecological and wildlife management has an important role for hunters, with present company excluded. As a Floridian, I'm all too keen of the adverse impact to the local ecology by invasive species. Think Burmese Pythons. But I digress... I had to get rid of the guns when I got married. The guns returned when I got rid of... Anywho. Target shooting requires one's full attention. To be effective you should't be thinking about anything else except the task at hand. Its like meditating but less boring. The entire body and life functions synch to effectively deliver a small projectile down range propulsed by a 9th Century Chinese invention, from a firearm. Stance, ready, aim, breadth control, release projectile by discharging firearm, follow-through, repeat. The reward is typically a half-inch or so puncture on a recycled paper, multiple feet away (meditators I'm sure, believe what I just described to be boring). It isn't for everyone but as I used to say to my munchkin about food: try it first and if you don't like it you don't need to eat it. So if you are like me and enjoy what I just described, then there's really no better place to exercise your rights as afforded by the Second Amendment to the US Constitution, than at the Palm Beach Shooting Center. They'll even teach you how to shoot safely. read more

I'm not an expert but have been to a few ranges a number of times in S Florida. They had fair prices, seemed to be decent guys and the range was fine. I went early and it didn't appear cleaned from previous day but not a big deal. I read about temperature being warm. It seemed fine but again it was early. I would go back and recommend if you're in the area. read more

Called today at 2:45 to see if they had a gun in stock. Talk to John on the phone. Said he had one told him I would be in to get it so he put it to the side till I got there told him I could be there by 4:30. I was a little ways away 40 minutes to get there I arrive at 4:15 15 minutes early. They said they was open till six. When I get there in the parking lot, they're locking the door and tell me oh sorry we're closing early so if they can unlock the door to sell me a gun that I drove 40 minutes to get Because they said they was open till six then I guess they don't need my business no more. read more

Went shooting out in lake worth....Horrible Range!! Stay away from this range. They over charge 20 an hour per person and then a few other fees, for example my partner had to site in the ar and the first round hit the top of the clip that holds the target and put a small tiny hole and they charge him an extra fee for that. I would stick to hollywood or Davie. Bass outdoor world still top for me better environment clean smells good ac works... Palm beach shooting center sucks!!!! First time checking out this range today and what a disappointment. Believe the negative reviews. The staff were unaccommodating and not really interested. The ammo is way overpriced compared to other stores. The range is a mess. The selection of targets are limited and terrible quality. I inquired about a pistol and wasn't really shown any interest in discussing it. Been to far better ranges/stores where the staff are knowledgeable and actually go out of their way to give you a first class experience. Won't be back. read more

Employees were very condescending with any/ all questions regarding products. I read previous reviews and I still like to give everyone a chance and form my own opinion. Unfortunately, they were right. The prices for 5.56 and 9mm were about 30% higher than any other store in the county! $25.00 for a box of 20 5.56 and $50.00 for 9mm (50 count) is absurd! Never even came in or been here. Just got off the phone with an idiot who doesn't know how guns work. You can bring your own ammo, but you cant shoot steel case unless it's out of "an AK47". Real AK47s are rare, they are almost all iterations of AK47 and most are AKM or some other pattern. You cant shoot steel case in anything else whatsoever???? All based on the myth steel cases are A-ok for the hardened steel chamber of an AK47, but NOT ok for the equally hardened steel chamber of an armalite rifle? Not that of a handgun with a chamber that is made of HARDENED STEEL, again one more time from the top, HARDENED STEEL, hello??? Whoever made this policy can take it and stick it right where the sun does not shine. Cant give me a real answer as to why, cant be nice on the phone, wtf dude. Looked pretty promising but not so much anymore unless your stupid policy on steel changes. Btw steel doesn't ruin your gun, even if it's an AR, and if your rifle cant handle the steel, it most certainly does not deserve the brass and is of subpar quality, that is not my problem. read more

If you are somewhat of a beginner, then you can stop looking around cause I have spent the last 3 months researching and visiting different gun ranges from Ft. Laud to Palm Beach, this is by far the best. For a multitude of reasons. Let me preface this by saying believe the reviews when reading about some of these gun rages. It's all true. Part of me doesn't want to leave a positive review for this place because it's perfect right now and I would hate for it to get overcrowded. I have been back to this range a few times already just to make sure I like it and feel comfortable, and next time I go I am signing up. In addition to the classes that most places have, I asked one of the instructors, "What other classes are available?" His answer...whatever you need. Once I told him what I was looking for, he was ready to take me into the classroom and show me right then and there how to take apart the gun and clean it. And...I had my 13 yr old son with me which most other places discouraged, this guy was telling me to bring him with for the lessons. That's the difference. read more

Very bad experience. I signed up for a beginner gun course . The first thing that you notice when you walk in is how dirty the place is and none of the staff were wearing masks. I took my place in the small windowless class room , and right before the class was to start a women came in and asked if anyone minded if she took the class without a mask. Two of us , out of six , immediately said yes. I stated that I had a heart problem and the other person , a lady , stated that she had two small kids at home and didn't want them to get infected. The unmasked lady left and within 2 minutes , the instructor, came in and pointed at my and said " you come outside , I want to talk to you ". When I asked why he said " because I said so" . When I left the room he told me the lady was going to take the class whether I liked it or not. I objected and he told me to leave the premises. I reminded him that a sign on the front door said that you cannot enter without a mask. He said that they don't wear a mask in the shop and they don't have to comply with the law. When I told him that he should comply with the law, ge rested his hand on his gun and told me to leave the premises immediately which I did. What an unbelievable experience. I don't get intimidated easily but I was intimidated by his obvious anger and by his resting his hand on his gun. Totally unacceptable. read more

I am just learning to shoot. I come here on Wednesday's to practice which is "ladies night", so that I feel comfortable. There is free shooting time (one hour, based on availability) for ladies if you buy the Ammo- $17, Earplugs- $1 & Targets- 75cents + Gun rentals- $15/hour. So ladies, bring $35 and you should be fine. You can also buy Ammo for less at Walmart In advance. FYI-No steel casings. Ask for Utah who teaches women to shoot for free on Wednesday's. He is #badass and very patient! Everyone seems knowledgeable. I felt safe & even got some Bullseyes. I Hit red targets after only 1 hour. Also, they offer gun permit classes (2 hours) on Wednesday's at 5:30pm & Sunday's at 10am. read more

I really can't agree with their restocking fee.. You will have to pay a 25% restocking fee if you change your mind and go with a firearm that costs less. Thats $625 on a $2500 (price gouging) firearm. I highly recommend looking for a reputable dealer who doesn't price gouge and doesn't charge a ridiculous "restocking" fee. Only nice thing I can say was the employee who helped me with the purchase was very helpful with my questions. read more

Horrible customer service. As a young girl that walked in alone originally, I was completely dismissed. Upon my boyfriend walking in shortly after, we were finally acknowledged properly. Once in the range, it's nearly impossible to find somewhere to place your stuff and still have any room to load or unload the weapon in the crammed stalls. Not to mention it's humid and HOT with zero source of air flow. Any questions asked were answered condescendingly and with a huge lack of respect. He spoke down to us and several other customers multiple times and continued to talk over me on multiple occasions. Also personal space is apparently non existent when speaking with customers... Absolutely was not impressed by any aspect of this facility or it's staff. Do not recommend what so ever. read more

I've used their range. The range is pretty dumpy. The help was fairly friendly. I really don't do a Karen on business but here's my complaint to the manager. Apart from your mediocre range you quoted me $75.00 for a firearms transfer. Those with experience I bet have never paid more than 30-35 bucks max. I called on Monday and talked to a man and asked if they had any 380 range ammunition. He said they had all kinds of it and I asked him if he would put aside six boxes for me and I'd be there in 15 minutes. I took my dog along and we went in and a girl waited on me and said she'd have to ask the owner. Finally the owner came over and told me he wouldn't sell them to me unless I bought a gun. He said there was no other guy works there. I pointed out the guy waiting on a customer. Lie after lie. I have bought guns there and ammunition and had my guns overhauled but I will never go back. When someone lies to your face that's it for me. This place is very deceptive and should be reported to the BBB. read more

All the staff is super knowledgeable and nice! It was my 1st time in a gun store and what a pleasant experience! My husband and I did the shooting range and purchased a 9MM gun. Going back in a few weeks for a full training! We spoke to nearly every employee and all were super patient, kind, experienced and knowledgeable! I had 0 experience with guns but was interested to learn how to use them and feeling safe handling them. I did the basic course and conceal course with them and they have great instructors. They emphasized on safety when handling a gun , how to grab it and shoot it. We practiced under their supervision. I brought my own gun and ammunition. It was no problem. The shooting range is not quiet but it's what you expect when shooting loud guns. Wear ear protection. The store could be a little better organized but it's not bad. Maybe a sign or person to provide information would be good. read more

I hate to write a negative review, but I will make an exception for this place. Apart from the overpriced ammunition, overpriced range fees and the antiquated range itself( it's like stepping back in the 90's, not in a good way). The staff really did not seem like they are well versed. But the top reason why I am leaving this review, is there was an argument that broke out between an "instructor" and another guy who surely acted like he was an "instructor". This all happened inside the range while people were shooting and both parties had guns on them. Getting into a heated argument on a gun range is a MASSIVE no no, and management seemed to not care at all. This is a major safety issue. I would highly recommend avoiding this range, unless they figure out how to properly run it. I shoot a substantial amount, and I have all my life, but have never felt so uncomfortable at a range. I had to walk out. For 30 minutes, 2 boxes of cheap 9mm, it was over $80. read more
