It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

There is a nice playground area with a structure, benches, a softball field, a basketball court, a walking path, and open grass to run around in. For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

The north end has a band shell with a stage for performances with seating for 150 people, restroom facilities, 12 station Heart Trail, a boat ramp with four launching pads, boat trailer parking, horseshoe pits, and a fishing pier. There is also a public art area that has a benches, a mermaid sculpture, and murals. The south end has a bocce court, picnic pavilion, picnic tables, BBQ grills, restroom, playground, and boardwalk with a lookout platform on the water. Although the park is lovely with a beautiful view of the Lake Worth Lagoon a lot of homeless people congregate here. They don't bother anyone though. They are mostly just looking for a place to sleep. Bryant Park's parking lot serves the nearby Snook Islands Natural Area as well. Parking here can also be a good for the incredibly crowded street painting festival if you don't mind walking a few blocks to the west downtown area.

There is ample parking on this side, either by pulling up on the one way street in front of it or pulling in and parking in the oceanfront parking lot. A sidewalk runs from this side of the park all the way to the Lake Avenue side of Bryant Park, which is a large grassy area with an amphitheater. But the Park also includes a boat ramp, exercise equiptment, fields often used for casual soccer or other games, and a little dock with a cover that goes out onto the Intracoastal and can be used for fishing. The playground side has a rentable covered picnic table area and bathrooms which are questionable. A lot of adults hand at the picnic area, but the playground area is in the middle of that side of the park, with a paved sidewalk around it, and no trees to block your view in this unfenced playground. There is a swing set that can face the ocean, and tiled concrete picnic tables, as well as some benches. Very dog friendly spot, and squirrels abound. Some folks fish on the concrete edge along the Intracoastal, but the rocks at the bottom make this difficult for small people. We saw a sea turtle the last time we visited.

They have a lot of classes and programs and after care. They got a lot of improvements due to a 2020 Parks Bond Referendum. The former beach house that was in poor shape - the old tennis center. 2020, saw new heights - city did it! a new $2 million tennis center and tennis courts that has the South Florida Tennis Program. And there are a ton of tennis players here all the time. It is great to have this park in West Palm Beach! So thank you very much!

Signage was displayed everywhere, very easy to follow. So many volunteers for such an awesome event. I know that the event was the star of the day but it wouldn't have been possible without this great location. But just after one visit we realized what an amazing park this is and often drive from two cities away just to visit. This park is a lovely escape to nature in South Florida. Boosting, many walking paths, bike paths, a dog park, a splash pad, frisbee, golf pitch, fishing areas, boating lake and many other sports areas. Overall, the paths pavement are generally well maintained, however, you do get a little bit of cracking as you do with most paved areas in Florida due to the heat- nothing too extreme, it was still easy to push a stroller. The bathrooms are always clean, yet admittedly, they are quite dated and dark on the inside, even though hygienically they are up to standards . Perhaps adding some better lighting on the inside could help make it feel a little nicer. Today while walking around the park, we visited many of the small playgrounds and our young child enjoyed getting out to play .

I don't know if she's serious about collecting $19 per visit and being stingy with a 20¢ serving of Goldfish or if she's genuinely unprepared for her customers today. It was weird. I absolutely love this place!…read more I was looking for an indoor activity last minute for my son to partake in on a Saturday and came across this indoor playground. I honestly did not know what to expect but when I walked in the doors I felt immediately welcomed. I love that the front door stays locked for security purposes and the check-in system was super smooth. The price of play was $15 which was more than reasonable. My son immediately took his shoes off and began to explore. The owner offered me a cup of coffee (I immediately knew we were in the right place lol) and we engaged in delightful conversation. This is not your "typical" indoor playground which I love more than anything. Totally tech free! There are endless centers and sections of play areas for kids to get lost in imaginative and engaging play time, whether with friends or independently. There is a full size trampoline, toddler trampoline and slide for the kids to enjoy as well. My son had a blast and I intend on making this one of our regular weekend spots to spend time out the house hanging out.

Some different friends who also Disc Golf had said it was one of the best courses around so I finally felt the urge to make it up there. The open a little early which is nice too. Entering the park is impressive in itself. There are so mnay things going on from a large lake spanning waterpark, wildlife all over, a BMX park that's a good size, and of course, the disc course. The things some had said that was obvious immediately, is that the place had far more rolling hills than any park or place in South Florida. I started off at the top of a hill and had to through down to the bottom of the hill. There were shots later where I had to throw over a pond and up a hill. From the elevation changes to the great forest and water holes, it really was worth the drive. Heck, I've been back 2 more times this month already.

During the COVID lockdown, walking the trails became my favorite pastime. Especially as a pregnant woman looking for peace and fresh air, lol. Years later, those same trails are still a favorite activity for my son and me. More recently, I've taken up disc golf and was excited to find out the group I joined regularly plays at the Okeeheelee course. It's been such a fun and engaging experience! Just yesterday, I attended a picnic at one of the park's pavilions, and it was wonderful. The swings and playground next to the pavilion made it perfect for a family-friendly event. The space provided plenty of seating and shade, so everyone could enjoy themselves without being overwhelmed by the heat. There's still so much of this park I haven't explored yet, and I genuinely look forward to continuing to visit for years to come.

This hidden gem is now known as President Gerald R. Ford Lantana Bicentennial Park, renamed in 2007 to honor President Ford's 1976 visit commemorating the nation's 200th anniversary. Today, it's a peaceful and well-maintained waterfront spot right at the base of the bridge. The park offers a great mix of amenities, including picnic tables, grills, a playground, a picnic pavilion, a spacious green lawn, and clean restrooms. There's also a seawall and a fishing pier, making it a great place to cast a line or just relax by the water. Directly across the way, Sportsman Park provides even more fishing opportunities. The pavilion can be reserved through the city, but the picnic tables and grills are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is metered unless there's a special event, in which case the city provides a shuttle. Lantana also hosts community events here, including Fourth of July celebrations and a local green market. Even on a regular day, though, it's a perfect spot to sit along the water, take in the scenic views of Lake Worth Lagoon, and watch the boats drift by.

The signage and park also honors former President Gerald Ford. In front of the park sign, and in front of all the flagpoles, there's a separate small stone slab highlighting each armed services branch including the coast guard. Behind the signage is a large art installation. And there's a small butterfly sculpture nearer the waterway. The park is located on the north side of Ocean Avenue just west of the bridge going over the Intracoastal. There's a nice sized playground area -- including structures to climb and slide on, and also a set of swings. A few kids were loudly enjoying this. There's a covered pavilion; and bathroom facilities; there are benches spaced periodically. And a walkway along the wall running along the waterway. A fisherman was trying his hand from the side nearer the bridge. And a few folks were just enjoying the water views from benches and taking a "me" break. My husband is already planning to come back here to fish. And I'll be bringing a good book to enjoy while he catches us dinner.

Park amenities include three picnic tables, a small playground made from recycled materials, restroom, and four lighted softball fields. While the park itself is a public facility, it is closely associated with the Lake Charleston community. Lake Charleston Park is an inviting destination for those seeking outdoor recreation in the Lake Worth area. Whether you're interested in sports, nature walks, or simply enjoying a peaceful picnic, the park offers a welcoming environment for all.

I took my children here recently to try out some new playgrounds while in the area. Two playgrounds…read moresit next to and behind this community's rec center and pool area. Parking is ample, free and shaded. The first playground is designed for smaller children and is designed as a sailboat. A small rock wall, pretend boat helm and two-tiered design appealed to both of my kids (1 and 3). A tiny 'hill' beyond this is the playground for older kids. There were a couple of cool features on the lower levels. Both playgrounds are connected by a sidewalk that continues on in a few different directions - around a lake and through tennis courts. Across from the sidewalks are large fields that I assume are used for soccer, due to the goals. My kids ran around in the mid-length grass/weeds trying to catch dragonflies. The field is very far from the road so it was nice for them to run around without needing to worry. We spotted different kinds of birds and a family of ducks far away. We did walk through the courts (2 tennis and 1 basketball, at least) to another part of a water body (Lake Charleston? No clue!). I was pretty nervous about alligators being that close to the water. We came to a tiny dock that was so covered in bird poop that it was uninhabitable. I didn't see any signs about alligators, but I don't think I'd walk my kids around that part again without a stroller. I'm not sure if it was just a windy day, but these are kind of 'waterfront' playgrounds and definitely received nice breezes. They were also shady with benches and altogether pleasant. Although not fenced, the far proximity from roads is nice and feels protected. The bathrooms are located outside but on the other side of the rec center (not near the playgrounds). They were remarkably nice and clean. We only encountered one other young child here briefly. Otherwise, when I arrived, the smaller playground was being used by a fitness class (for adults), and the larger one was being used by 3 teenagers.

And their kids all running around playing together. It was beautiful. Big dog park too. Only bummer was the baseball field nearby was locked up. Bit of a bummer when you want to have batting practice or have babes that want to play in the dirt.

The park rates high with walkers and runners with its half mile path circling the perimeter. The entire park is under ten acres. Throughout, there is the occasional bench for rest and contemplation. And a station with waste bags for the dog walkers. It's not just open grass as there are some trees for shade. We didn't see any, but we understand you can see ducks in season by the lake (pond?). The park only has about 6 parking spaces. There is a small pavilion and playground. The main attraction of the park is the large green space perfect for kids to run around on or play football or soccer games. The perimeter fitness path that runs at the edge of the field is a half mile and can be used for running, walking, and biking. There are 12 health station intervals along the path if you would like additional exercises. Dogs are allowed if they are on leashes.
