be very careful.....I went in making clear i only wanted to tan one month, getting ready for a trip....i was in almost every day and the last week said...well this is my last week....and then this is my last day. No one ever mentioned that i was on a recurring charge and that there was any sort of form to fill out to stop. I love this place! I previously went to the Newton and switched once it closed (I'm actually closer to this location, but parking in Newton was a bonus). The girls here are SO friendly and helpful, if there is a line it always moves quickly, and I love their machines and products! Always get compliments on my tan (I use both sprays and beds depending on the time). I've tried other salons for personal sprays, mobile sprays, all of it - this one always comes out most evenly (no room for human error - unless it's my own ). Alsooo the gals at the front will always help you choose the perfect bronzer/shade - they're great and very patient! Anyway I can't recommend this spot enough! read more

This is probably the best Palm Beach Tan I have ever used. I have been traveling around the country for years and I can use PBT and any city that I go to, it's a super perk and this one tops my list. Not only was the girl at the counter the nicest, the cutest, the funniest thing, this is a very clean salon, the machines look brand new, everything is really nice. people were extremely rude- treated us like we were dumb and laughed at us for not knowing the specifics of their tanning machines. first free spray tan/service was advertised on the website but tried to charge us $45 and said they changed the policy. someone i know came last week and got a three pack of spray tans and when we asked to get the three back they said they don't do them anymore. clear that the employees were making up policies on the spot to make commission. these people need to figure it out and learn common decency. 1000% would not recommend - feel worse after having gone there read more

I think this location is great. The girls at the front desk are helpful, the space is very clean and the tanning beds are modern and new. I've reviewed some of the complaints and honestly, they really need to go to corporate. The hours and days of operation are made at the corporate level and based on demand. They offer a curated choice of skin care products and they're really doing as good as they can while we are all struggling with a pandemic. Those who complained relentlessly about Huntington Avenue should realize that their lease was not renewed. It is possible they went month to month with the hopes of an agreement but that didn't happen. Again, this closure had nothing to do with the staff. No,I do not work here, nor am I the franchise owner. I just think reviews should reflect the experience a patron has had with the staff. read more

I was so upset when the store in Newton went out of business but the manager in Boston on Columbus Ave (Haley) is wonderful, positive helpful and always so pleasant. Parking isn't awful and the wait hasn't ever seemed terribly long so everything is manageable. The staff should be applauded for turning a very upsetting situation into a palatable one. The poor reviews I've read are absolutely bewildering to me. I've been a loyal customer of Palm Beach Tan, and this specific location, since January of 2020. The staff are nothing but unfailingly friendly and professional. The salon, the beds and the rooms are always completely clean. I went to go to this location the other day & was surprised to find they had closed. I called their other location near Boston University. They said it came as a surprise to the employees as well. They will be opening up a new location at 530 Columbus Avenue in July. I was upset at first & going near Boston University a little far for me but the staff was very apologetic & accommodating. They said I could freeze my membership until the new location opens or I'm welcome to go to BU location & they've upgraded all their customers. read more

Went in for the 4th time ever and I remember why I don't come here. Its awful the girls are so incredibly rude they have no customer service skills, they do not smile. The restrictions on tanning limits is insane, i've worked at tanning salons I know my skin and just because you havent been to their company they put you in for such minimal time, always saying how new the bulbs are. One One lotion packet and a $5 tan deal came out to $21 and they wouldn't let me tan longer than 8 minutes even though ive tanned elsewhere 6 times this month. Whats the point of signing a waiver if they wont put you in for the requested 12 minutes on a 15 min bed. I was happy to settle for 10 min and they said no we could do 9 and rolled their eyes. Rude, overpriced, terrible service. This place will be out of business by March. read more

Manger CC IS RUDE! Spend more time updating your google listing. Don't take have this stores number on a listing that doesn't say the business is closed! Then have customers drive almost 30 mins to that location only to find out of business. You have your phone number on a store that's 30 minutes away maybe somebody from the Boston area would know when they answer the phone who were they are where I don't know I'm not from Boston I wouldn't know when you say Columbus what that means so you should have a notated on that listing if you want the phone number to be there so people can call you which I can understand that you need to put on that listing this business is closed then I wouldn't even called the number. I would've went over to the other Palm Beach Tan location I would've called you directly and I would've went to that location so spin more time working on your Google listing then you're bad attitude that's what you should be focused on and I was at the front desk running your mouth to one another like normal. read more

I went there for a promo they were giving out where a friend refers a new member, and they receive $10 and the friend referred gets 4 free tans. When I arrived, they informed me that my name was already in the system despite having not been there before. Apparently the system they use is the same system as the one that the previous tanning company (who has since left) was using, and therefore they could do nothing for me. It seems nonsensical and highly unprofessional that they would give a promo and not follow through, or provide another option for customers who are already in their system from a completely different tanning company. Additionally, my friend who referred me was bright red and burnt after her second time going. The prices are ridiculous for the services offered, and the employees seem very uninterested in helping their customers, as they looked at me like I was an idiot for already being in their system... that isn't even their system. I don't want to be retaliated against for speaking out against them, because I know that happens. This girl Ce Ce has restricted my time to half the maximum time on multiple occasions. And at first I just passed it off. But now after she's done that to me for months at different times, I questioned her and asked how often I need to go there to not be restricted, and she said I have to tan every week in order for my time to not be reduced to half. So this girl literally counts the days since my last visit, and if it's been 8 days since my last tan, she reduces the time I'm allowed to tan. And she will only add 2 minutes if it's within the week, but then at 8 days, she reduces it again. I don't even think Ce Ce knows how to read. I asked where that's stated in the policy and she looked on the computer for like 10 minutes and couldn't show me anything that said that. I've been a member for over 5 years so I'm used to tanning, my skin tans very easily, and I've tanned at multiple locations and never had this problem until her. But now, she makes it an awful experience to go there. It should be like a fun spa day, but instead I just feel harassed at how she's restricting my membership and not allowing me to tan how I want for my own body. read more

I went there for a spray tan today ,always been a good customer to this company even when they were Darque Tan prior for the first time I went to the Comm Ave location and they were absolutely horrible . I asked if there was parking outside they told me yes . Untrue it was all under construction. So I had to find a parking meter after driving around for 45 minutes park and walk barely a mile to get there. Natalia the GM is there is a very unprofessional and doesn't understand customer service apparently, I hope somebody can help them with their training and professionalism. I'm not surprised I was the only customer in there the whole time. With customer service like this and treatment like this I would recommend to save your money and go somewhere else , I have been to the Newton in Swampscott location in been treated very nicely however this one needs some work. read more

I have been a customer of PBT for a long time. I signed up for my monthly membership out of state and recently moved here, so I thought I would try out the Boston location for my monthly spray tan. It was the worst experience I have ever had. The employee at the counter was extremely stressed (rightfully so, she was the only person working) and very rude, on occasion cussing at customers, literally saying to someone "next time I'll let you go in a dirty ass room then", when approached about waiting 40 minutes for her tan. After rudely assisting me, and after I called the out of state location and had the manager there try and assist her with getting into my account, she hung the phone up on them, and starting cussing them out as well. She did some how manage after all of that to allow me to tan, and apologized for her action, but the experience in itself was horrible. I will never go there again. read more
