Jodi was amazing. We went in a week ago and purchased a walk-in no commitment package. Well, we liked it so much we went back today and joined. Jodi had been so patient and kind with us, and recognized us when we walked in, we said "Why not". Very efficient, clean, patient and smiling staff. No hard sells. I like the Infrared light/red light room. It helped me with my mood and energy during the cold winter. They keep the room clean and I enjoyed having the blue tooth speaker in the booth so I could listen to the podcasts. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this location! It's always been super clean every time Iv gone. They can sometimes be super busy so sometimes there is a bit of wait for certain beds, no fault to anyone that works there of course. The only issue I have had is when I originally signed up they told me they would be waiving the start up fee but when I checked my bank account it showed they still charged me for it. I don't understand why this place has bad reviews. I'm new to the area from Annapolis. I was happy to find a palm beach tan in Frederick since that's where I had been going before moving. I walked in was pleasantly greeted and helped. Every tine I've been the last several months I have been helped quickly by someone who is always happy and polite and the beds are always clean and hot! They have excellent knowledge of the beds and lotions. Absolutely recommend!! read more

If I was able to give this location 0 starts I would! Not only have the beds been dirty 98% of the time I go but the current staff is unfriendly, uneducated, and flat out rude! I have contacted customer service countless times. I did receive one phone call from the district manager, who left me a message, but I have tried multiple times to reach back out to her with no response. The incident today is why I have decided to share this in a review. I walked into the salon and asked to use one of my 8 upgrade I should have had in my account. I was told I did not have any and would I like to pay for an upgrade, at this point the bed I wanted to use was available, I explained that the last time I was in I was told I only had 2 upgrades and after using the one that specific day I only had 1 left, I have not used that upgrade since that date of service, on that day I explained I should have had 9 available on my account to use. The only logical explanation is that the staff is giving my tans to other customers. As I am discussing this with both of the staff members at the front desk, one of the girls tells the other to give me a complimentary tan for today and to make a note on my account. So as the girl that is 'helping me' is noting my account the other staff member puts another customer in the only upgraded bed, the one I had requested ten minutes prior. WOW! So at this point I am either forced to now wait for the other customer to tan or use a bed on my current monthly package. Ok, I'm obviously irritated at this point, I decide to use room 2, then I'm told that this bed has new bulbs and would I like to go in for 6 or 7 minutes? I said I'd like to go in for the full time of 12 minutes. Then the other staff member tells me because they're new bulbs she's not allowed because I can burn and I can only go in for 6 minutes. Firstly, when you sign up you have to sign a waiver. Secondly, it is my legal right to use any bed I am paying for for the maximum time. Their job is to make sure I am informed, I was. If I burn, by my choice, that is my decision and they are not liable. I GIVE UP! I said forget it and begun to leave the salon. Then one of the staff members proceeds to say "yeah, ok" and huffs at me. All in all, horrible customer service, staff and management, unclearly and extremely unprofessional environment. Not to mention I was forced to use this salon when they purchased the Carolina tans and my monthly package was downgraded, I lost my $25 monthly account credit and I am currently paying $5.00 more a month. I have, again, contacted customer service. I will update my review if/when anything is done. I would not recommend this business, especially this location to anyone! read more

Is it a requirement to be rude to work here? I walked in knowing I was signing up for a diamond membership. The 2 workers did not greet me, and were not friendly in any way. She charged me the start up fee (which can easily be waved), and then had the nerve to try to sell me a $100 bottle of lotion. PBT salons are always nice and offer a wide range of beds, but I'm not a huge fan of this location. For one, the tanning beds are kind of in cubicles as opposed to actual rooms. This means you can't turn on a radio station of your choice, and it also just doesn't feel as private. The lock on the door is just a sliding plastic piece which is fine and I know it shouldn't bother me, but it just doesn't feel as comfortable as an actual lock. The staff doesn't seem as friendly as the staff at the location at FSK, and every time I've gone in it seems like they're more concerned with hanging out with each other than the customers. It's not awful, but if you're somewhere between the two Frederick locations I wouldn't pick this one. read more

Had an issue with my membership and went to cancel. I missed the date to cancel by 1 day. My monthly fee was $60. Since I had not used any service for the new month the manager offered to switch my plan for the month from sunless to a tanning bed membership. I was led to believe that it was a comparable exchange. When I went to tan today I found out I ended up getting a month of tanning but only at the $20 rate. When I asked why not an a comparable service the gal at the desk said I was lucky to have that because they didn't even need to that. Not friendly at all. I will reluctantly try to use whatever service for the next month but will never go back read more

They offer great sign up deals....then once you sign up, up go the rates. Like an add on spray tan was $5 the first 2 months of my membership, then leaped to $27! A big scam. And they don't care if you catch on and cancel your membership (which they make very difficult to do)...because they know a new customer will walk in and fall for the great intro deals. They wait about 2 months to really clobber you with extras. Not an honest way to run a business. I'm back to Hawaiian Tan on Rt 40. They are fabulous. I tried Palm Beach because it was a couple miles closer to my home. NEVER AGAIN. RIP OFF!!!!! read more

So all in all this place is just an average tanning place. What's nice is that it is clean and they do have good quality tanning beds and a nice variety of spray tan options such as the mystic tan and the versa tan. The reason this place only gets two stars is that the customer service sucked. When I asked to speak for a manager there's never there never seem to be a manager available to talk to so I can complain instead I just get blank stares and a lot of attitude. I like the low cost of their monthly base membership at under $15. You have to admit, that is very cheap. Their basic beds are very basic and look well-used but they do work. Also, the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. read more

The whole company is terrible when it comes to customer service. I paid for an upgrade...the bed is suppose to have aquacool and aroma mist. The first 2 weeks either one worked. When I asked the assistant manager, I was told "they ran out". After days I was finally able to speak with a district manager who indicated that she had to go get the aquacool from another store and drive it to this location. "Which I should not have to do". It my mind, if all the features of the bed are not working then the bed is not working properly. The district manager described my concerns as "a harmless mistake and that I was making too much of this situation." Why should I pay for an upgrade when the upgrades are not working. I have called the customer service and am only able to leave voice messages. I receive an email back that states someone will call me back in 24-48 hours..........doesn't happen. Please do not use Palm Beach Tan.......they do not value their customers and are not concerned about resolving customer issues. read more
