nice and friendly staff, but the company overall has changed , doubled the cost for monthly customers, and no longer pro rate when signing up in the middle of the month, i have tanned at the 249 location for 4 years before vacation, this year i signed up December 14th and had to pay for all of December as well as the normal 25.00 set up fee, my monthly charge after tax will be 111.00 they always try to sell you on closing account by the 25th or you ll be charged another month, or try to keep you form stopping your tan, that would be 1300.00 a year , i dont need to tan all year as we go to lakes and beaches after february ... JMO its all about getting your credit card in their system.... $$$$$$$$$$$$$ read more

Let me tell you what a huge and ridiculous scam this salon has turned out to be. About a month ago I went in for just a basic spray tan, the "training manager" at this salon was the one who rang me up. She talked me into the mystic spray tan (which I had used before) and mentioned a "buy one; get one promotion". $55 total I figured it was a decent deal. Flash forward to today where I go back in to receive my "free" tan and ended up speaking with the same person. No only did she NOT tell me that the actual "session" was $35 and the "added color (AKA THE TAN)" was $26 extra?!? Not only was this COMPLETELY hidden from me the first time, but I was surprised to be charged ANYTHING when walking in to my "free" session. Truly at the end of the day it isn't about money, it's about running an honest and transparent company. Not just trying to make the sale. Which is EXACTLY how I felt. I won't be back. read more

I canceled my membership here two weeks ago after darque tan was bought by them. They got rid of all of the level one beds and now have a average 20 min wait time to use the one level one bed they kept. Either cancel or upgrade to a level 2 bed outrageous new fee. No thanks. read more

I was a member at Darque tan for years. I had put my account on hold for months and returned to realize it was no longer Darque Tan. They did honor my Darque tan rates, which were quiet a bit cheaper than Palm Beach rates. There are a few super sweet employees then several that are very pushy trying to sell over priced products every time you tan. The worst part is the beds are not as good. I've tanned in several beds including the highest level beds. I'm not getting the same color as I always have in the past. read more

I contacted this location after finding out that they had taken over for Darque Tan. I spoke to a very nice lady named Shiela. I informed Shiela that I had credits with Darque Tan, and that I had been diagnosed with a malignant melanoma and was no longer able to tan, but would love to convert my credits to mystic tans. Sheila was unsure how to do that but told me she'd look into it and call me back. She actually called right back in just a few minutes and let me know that she was able to convert my credits and also that I could use them at any location nation wide. I live in California and was able to locate a Palm Beach Tan fairly close to where I live so I was super happy about that too. I really appreciate the kind and professional service given by Shiela and Palm Beach Tan! read more

Worst tanning place I've ever been to. This place really takes your money. I told the lady at the front desk I only wanted to pay for a couple of months and they have continued to charge $50 out of my account unknowingly each month. They won't give your money back either even if you just try and cancel at the 1st of the month. They still charge you for that month. Absolutely hated the customer service. This place is trash. They are very unfriendly and the beds are disgusting. read more

I've been tanning here for a couple years now and have had not any problems! All of the staff here have been fantastic and very friendly, I strictly spray tan now and have for the past two years and not once have I had my spray tan come out looking bad or splotchy. The price is great the only bad comment I would have is that since it's in the shopping center if it's rainy weather and you rely on spray tanning and have to get it that day and it's rainy and there's nothing you can do about it, sometimes there is no parking at the very front where you can run in and out but that's not their fault it's just the weather. Everything is clean inside the salon and I always get quick service and I've never had any issues whatsoever with it being the wrong color or anything that they're inputting wrong on the machine so I would definitely recommend this location I will keep this membership as long as I live in the area! I've been a long time tanner, I started in high school in 2009, and this chain is the best I've ever had a membership with. There is always a wait for the one level one bed. I asked if they plan to add more to help with the wait times. They said they were not sure at the moment, but offered me an upgrade at $20 more per month. Why not just offer the service I'm paying for already in a timely manor. We have been a customer since 2009. Time for a change. read more

Palm Beach Tan claims 100% customer satisfaction on their websites, but this is definitely not the case at the 249 location in Houston. This location was previously Darque Tan and the members were to be 'grandfathered', but there is nothing grand about Palm Beach Tan. Everything is an upsell and if you don't want to pay additional dollars then be prepared to wait. The staff is more concerned about chit-chatting with each other than a client waiting unnecessarily. I was told there was 16 minutes remaining for the level bed requested. After waiting 30 minutes, I asked when the bed would be available and was told 'when she gets out'. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the wait as well as each time I had visited the salon. The staff member proceeded to ask me where I lived and that maybe another location would be better for me. I explained the reason I came to this location was for the convenience and I was not interested in a different Palm Beach Tan location. Instead of hearing what was important to me, the customer, she continued to push another location and was annoyed that I was not interested. Another staff member came to the front and told me the bed was now available. I pointed out that I had not seen anyone leave, to which she responded 'yeah there was nobody back there, so I guess she was already gone.' My concerns were discounted and I waited 30 minutes for a bed that was empty for who knows how long. I had requested a 10 minute session and there were plenty of other beds available but was told unless I paid the additional charge, she could not put me in another bed. I have cancelled my membership and I do not recommend this location. read more

This location is absolutely incompetent and don't even honor their own contracts . I've been a member on and off for TEN YEARS and Darque Tan was recently bought out by palm beach tan. I went in to do a level 3 stand up, as I'm grandfathered in and that's always been included in my plan and I've not had any problems with OTHER locations honoring the grandfather clause . Oh but this location won't allow me to tan in a 3 stand up. They put me in a low level bed for only a small amount of time . Claiming because I haven't tanned in a while (a week or so )?? Because they closed the location near me . Overcrowded and rude front desk staff . I grabbed the card of the manager at the desk and emailed her about this issue and the RUDE front desk girl intercepted the boss's email and tried to confront me about it as I walked out the door. I walked out in her face and told her that email was not intended for her . Now corporate has been contacted and possibly I'll contact the bbb . read more
