I tan at PBT regularly and can't express how much I love coming here! The beds are always super clean and the bulbs are routinely changed to ensure even color. The staff is **AMAZING** !! Kim (manager), Nevaeh (asst manager), Jess, Maddie, Jessie, Alyssa, and Caelen are THE BEST and take extra steps to make me happy, welcome, and cared for. My only complaint is that they have one person closing at night. There are a lot of homeless people wandering around this neighborhood and I worry for the safety of the PBT staff! ***One star review is for the district manager not the ladies that work at this particular location, they are lovely.*** Membership options were poorly explained during my first visit and I clearly stated that I only wanted to tan for 3 weeks. Sold a package because of how the pricing is structured. The payments are reoccurring and was charged for a month I didn't use. Started the process of cancelling (they make it difficult) and while in the process was charged AGAIN. So now we're at charged for 2 months and I visited 0 times. Asked for refund for just one of the months not both. Had to email corporate, physically go into the store and spent 15 minutes filling out a form for review by district manager. So after multiple phone calls, emails and driving 20 minutes to and from to fill out the stupid form, they said no. It was only $69 but more the principle of you wasted not only my money but now my time and the entire process was aggravating. $69 is a cheap price to keep a customer. read more

so they won't let you buy individual tans so i bought a pack of 3 for prom for 105. 80 for the pack and 25 for the single tan i used. i go back in thinking since ive already paid so much for the other 2 i dont have to pay any more right? I was offered a free tanning package all I went in today for a visit. I was uneasy after reading the terrible reviews on yelp but I'm a maverick and bad ratings don't scare me. I walked in and waited about 3 minutes before Mariah came out to greet me. I liked that the way it was set up it felt more like a health spa than a cheesy tanning salon. I told Mariah I was a super rookie and she was great, taking me on a tour, explaining how everything worked and the difference between the beds. She was so great and treated me like an important client. She recommended some great lotions and set me up with a tanning bed. The tanning experience was very relaxing and fun. I have been going to this location for about 8 months or so and the tanning salon has always been up kept and neat when I walk in. The lobby floors really are squeaky clean. Summer and Austyn are rock stars! They are very knowledgeable on the prices that correspond with each bed, how they operate, lotions, computer system, etc. Overall I'm pretty pleased coming here. I had a subscriptIon for about a year. The last time I went there was in 2016. I cancelled my subscription many years ago because the young lady up front was rude and had made an unkind and somewhat racists remark to me. Then proceeded to let other women go ahead or me- my tan was always orange. I called today to inquire why they kept charging a card they did not have and wasn't even on the authorization, they said they would not refund me for 4 years of billing. That's a total of $3,456. Be aware there are a lot of add-ons that they do not tell you they are adding. I was tricked into buying $60 worth in 1 tan. I usually pay 20-25 elsewhere. Kind of sad this place has some 1 star reviews. I think anyone who gives a 1 star review is probably uppity and expects people to kiss the ground they walk on. I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE, I GIVE IT TO YOU STRAIGHT! Anyhow!! I actually love this place. The girl that helped me sign up for my membership was professional and helpful (I think Summer? The manager?). I was going almost every day for a couple of weeks then missed the last couple of weeks. When you sign up you get a complimentary spray tan, which I wanted to use in the days leading up to my trip to Mexico, but I knew it would expire before then. I literally went for the first time this morning in 2 weeks and Aystin was manning the desk. I asked him if there was any way he'd be able to extend my free spray tan use because of my upcoming trip. He clicked a few buttons on the keypad and was able to extend the deadline! I was super super greatful and thanked him over and over. Other than that, it's pretty chill here, very clean, I say the staff is attentive and helpful. I don't use their products because products sold anywhere in places like these tend to be high (plus I personally just rub coconut or jojoba oil on before I do my tanning). Your time in the beds goes by quickly, I start at 10 minutes then work my way up to 12 and 15 minutes. Great little time to take a quick nap! Maybe the people who gave bad reviews just don't tan very well and are looking to blame others. I love you Palm Beach Tan! read more

Honestly, I am so so so disappointed in this take over from Darque Tan. I actually wrote Palm Beach a personalized letter about their staff , the horrible service and HORRIBLE products.... I have YET to hear back... I use the versa spa tanning which I am not sure why the solution they switched to requires me to literally tan three to four times in a row to get the color I want. I have asked the people that work there why this is and been told "its much more natural looking". No. Its not. It doesnt even look like I got tanned AT ALL. I am paying 50-60 bucks a month for a tanning membership, I would expect to look tan after one time. Also, I lost my ring there and their new policy about having to come into the store to discuss this is insane but I did it anyways and the girl told me she "had no clue where the lost and found was kept and I would have to come back later when someone else was working". Great, thanks for all your help. I was soo pleased with Darque Tan I am so sad that Palm Beach has taken over and that the product and service they provide has gone so down hill. Update: I knew I had to come back because it was cheaper for me to buy 3 spray tans than 1. I used both tans recently and I've noticed the quality of the tan has gone down significantly. I get the darkest shade you can go & barely feel tan the next day. My boyfriend doesn't even notice like he used to. Also the VersoPro seems to have been downgraded where they don't do the pre-spray anymore & the drying amounts have changed. If I would have known that the first time I would have been less confused. But they told me the second time I went in. You're better off going to a custom tan place for way less & for a longer lasting, better quality spray tan. I recommend the Bronze Bar in Old Town Scottsdale -- huge fan. Lastly, I received a comment on my review from 2/24 from Penelope M. of Palm Beach Tan asking for more information about my poor experience. I responded by email on 3/7 & never heard anything back. read more

I went to get a spray tan, and I asked for the darkest color possible and let me tell you, I am beyond pale!! Completely overpriced and the girl at the register kept pressuring me to upgrade to these enhancements that's made my spray tan 60$. Ridiculous. For a custom spray tan, I get that. I stopped by to purchase a spray tan and somehow got signed up for monthly UV tanning? I called in to cancel this monthly charge and the "manager" insisted that she could not cancel my account over the phone and that I needed to cancel in person. I explained that I lived over 30 minutes away and she said that it would continue to charge my card until I came in. And she said this all with a smile in her voice. She was very condescending and had no care for my needs. I asked to speak to the manager and she giggled and explained that she was the manager. When signing up she made sure I was aware of all the different tanning bed levels and different promotions going on. All of the associates are super friendly and knowledgeable on the beds & products. Most of the associates know my name now which makes the whole experience that much better. Staff is beyond unfriendly and don't even think about canceling or freezing your membership and having legitimate information as to what the fees entail. When I tried to cancel my membership the first time they said I would have to use my last monthly tan then and there which I was not ready to do. I was not given my full allotted month that I already paid for. So I froze instead with the staff saying that it would cost seven dollars a month which is no big deal and after "that adds up you can use that money towards other tans/ etc". What they don't tell you is that that money can't be spent on monthly tans or memberships and can go to lotions that are grossly overpriced (only one time they let me use towards a tan but all other times I was told it's impossible).On top of that the staff gives you attitude for even inquiring on information ... making it insanely uncomfortable. Even with a $20 tanning membership which is one tan per month you're paying another $20 for god knows what when u actually go in for your tan. Never doing business here again. The first time my husband prepaid for 3 Tans for me here. I came to redeem the first one and they said there was a note in the computer saying my husband wanted me to purchase all this extra stuff which ended up costing me $60 extra. When I got home my husband said he never said to buy all that. I let that go went back a second time went to get my third tan and they said it had expired and wanted to charge me an additional $32. This place just recently took over Darque Tan, which provided great service to it's customers I'm giving this place an extra star because the staff are nice people but totally replaced the staff I was used to working with. Not only that, but the manager used to always work there when I would go in and knew me on a first and last name basis, as well as knew my tanning bed preferences. This place no longer gives tanning tattoo stickers and has pretty expensive prices in merchandise, with no deals in sight. The rooms themselves are pretty blank, which I understand they are going through a remodel But there are no trash cans or mirrors, which sometimes makes it difficult when getting dressed to go and run the rest of my errands. Lastly, I know this is probably a law, but never before have I been restricted by the 24 hour rule and I know I have probably circumvented it without knowing it per the Darque staff. I just think it's frustrating that I have to go in at the same time or later if I need to go every day before a major promo event that I'm working. What's the point in having a membership if I can go into the store in the evening on a day I work but can't go in the next afternoon on my day off. Too much has changed within the last month to want me to keep my membership. Also, I've noticed that half of the staff aren't tan themselves which makes me go "hmm". read more

I just wanted to share my story so that nobody got ripped off the way that I did. Everyone knows I have been going to Palm Beach tan for about 6 months now. I have done nothing but brag about them I have never complained on them. I went to the Decatur location and found out that my package included spray tanning. Every time I ask the coolman location they told me it would be $35 plus the additives. I was told by the Decatur location to contact them about this because they also sell kits for their new amethyst tanning lotion. Which is around $200. Decatur told me that they should have not sold me one bottle they should have told me the kit would be the next day. So I contacted their main office and they told me to not come back. I did not cuss them. I was not ugly to them. I told them that I thought it was wrong that I've been paying for services that I have not received and was told I would be charged for. I am very hurt by this company. Everyone that knows me knows that I have been very good to them and have spoke nothing but nice words on them. I was only doing what the Decatur location told me to do. So this hurt me and I have no way to contact anybody about it. So if anybody has any ideas on what I should do please let me know. And be careful going to the location because you can be a loyal customer. I've spent thousands in that store and over one complaint they told me that I could not come back. I wish I could tag them in this but I can't but I just wanted to let everybody know in case you decide to tan there this summer. read more

I went to Palm Beach Tan very excited to see if it was going to be a place I would want to switch to, since it is close to my work. However, it is FAR from it. When I went in, Mariah was the one who helped me and she was incredibly rude, and looked like she was ready for a night on the town, not to be at work. I found her very unhelpful and short with me. You know when you try a place and it's great? And then the next times are terrible? Yes, that is indeed what happened here. I get the 24 hour tanning rule, but if you're within one or two hours I don't think you should turn someone away...however beyond all of that is this: I wanted to tan a few times for an event, I was told it would be cheaper to do this as a month membership. Okay fine. Done. Okay now three weeks later at the end of the month (what I paid for) I'm ready to be done I tell Melissa I want to cancel, she says it has to be done by the 25th, so naturally my response is "it is the 25th" oh no she didn't mean the 25th she meant before...like the 24th as in by. That's absurd. She says she'll talk to her manager. I come out of the bed and ask her if she's going to talk to her or what. She starts trying to explain that I have no choice but to wait another month because it is required to have one withdrawal before canceling...you did withdraw, you know, the first day, "no withdrawal as in automatic withdrawal" Well if you had told me that I wouldn't have given you my business. "You should have gotten a printout of this on your agreement" I didn't. "Well she should have told you about the withdrawal." Well she didn't. *starts looking through the agreement she is referring to* - surprise she can't. It actually says if I want to cancel within 30 days they'll refund you minus your sessions blah blah blah. Since she can't find the claim to support her theory "Okay well here is corporates number call them I can't do this for you." I call, no it is not customer service, it's an automated service telling me where the nearest location is. Look up the number online, after searching forever. Obviously they don't pick up it's Sunday. So I call the Chandler location "oh yeh we just have to have you come in and sign the paperwork! Who told you you couldn't?" -_- call back the store I was just at...told her the other stores told me they could do this but that location is an incredible inconvenience for me to go to. Melissa responds "it's not that I can't cancel it...you're just still going to get charged $60 for another month. Who did you speak to at the other location?" You've got to be kidding me. Call the Shea location as it's the next closest..."of course we can you jut have to come in to sign today because it is the 25th" so you won't Charge me? I feel like the service provided needs to be aligned. The way the girls specifically (there's one guy who I've interacted with, who is always nice & professional) come across a little snooty. I feel like their attitude towards me, is like they're above me. They don't have a friendly and inviting presence and it varies every time I go in. I work in retail and truly believe that your interaction with your customer should be welcoming and friendly. The girls don't seem genuine at all. I can never predict what my interaction will be like and it's honestly making me feel like switching tanning salons.
