I am probably in the top 10 ranking of some of the whitest people on this earth. When the weather is cold my legs appear to be a purply blotchy nightmare and unfortunately when the weather is warm, if I try to lay out to get a tan, I fry. So, I'm either stuck super pale, or get a sunburn. I had a wedding to go to though and I looked almost sickly I was so pale. My friend David has been a tanaholoic for years and has worked at several tanning salons so I decided to give him a ring and see what he could do for me. I came up here for a spray tan and even though that is so not my thing, it was awesome. They had a special going for 3 for $30, you get to pick what shade of tan you want to be, they can add a scent to it so you don't smell like funky fake tan, and the machine is state of the art! It talks to you and shit! My tan was very even, lasted for about a week and I looked healthy for the wedding. Also note that this place is like OCD clean. They keeps the towels washed, the beds gets wiped down with cleaner (I saw some of the staff doing it as soon as customer came out), and the presentation of the store itself is just immaculate. I hear so many things about tanning salons being dirty and people catching ring worm so it's nice to see that the employees take the initiative to actively clean instead of sitting on their phones texting their friends and screwing around. read more

EDIT: the manager reached out and was extremely nice, explained the policy to me, and offered me credit for next time, I appreciate them reaching out It was my first time here and right before paying I was told that you only get half the time on your first visit. I understand that this may be a policy for safety or something, but the price needs to reflect that. I don't understand how it makes sense to pay full price for half the time? I'm feeling very regretful that I paid $35 for 7min when 14min costs the same, wish I had walked out and gone somewhere else. read more

The young girl that worked last night was so unfriendly and rude, she had no idea what any of the shades or hues looked like. I saw the reviews about bad customer service and went anyway thinking different (better) people would be working, there was not. It's been a few months since I've been in here and I'm truly amazed the place is still open based on their customer service or lack there of. Hence why I haven't been in there in a few months. No one is ever out front when you walk in and then finally a minute or two later they mosey on out. No smile. No, so sorry I was in the back. Nothing. Absolutely no friendliness. Literally probably one of the rudest staff bunch I've seen in years. The place always seems like a ghost town. When I first went in I had brought a coupon from the nail place a few doors down and the girl said it was pointless to use unless I "just want to turn red." What's the point of paying to have a coupon printed that new customers will gain no benefit from? So, I got a package. They got me! Kind of overpriced for what I was looking for. Went a few times and literally every girl that was working (I encountered 2-3) were more dismissive and ruder than the next. Always acting like they were doing a favor to tell me what room I'm in, made me feel like an idiot for asking a question. Hey staff, get off your high horse. You work in customer service at a tanning salon. Stop acting like you are too good for your job. If you are, go work somewhere else. From the looks of it, you sit on your ass in the back all day because no one is ever out front. Seems like a sweet gig to me. So stop acting like it's horrible. Basically, if the Sun blew up and we had no way to obtain vitamin D except for a tanning salon and the only place open within a hours drive was this place... And my life depended on it... Highly fraudulent business practices. Cancelled my membership in August 2017. All of a sudden charges started again in December 2017 and to be open I didn't notice it until today. They say I never signed the paperwork to cancel in August of 2017 which is also the last time I was ever there, but I know full well that I did as she walked me through the whole process. $607 worth of charges they fraudulently applied. This company refuses to take ownership of their "mistakes" and appropriately make things right. Run, run RUN from this company. I really wish I had read all of these reviews before even walking in there as they are truly as bad as every one of these reviews indicates. read more

Their tanning beds are great, and the place is very clean, all that is great BUT they have to have some of the rudest clueless people working there. They make you feel stupid for asking questions. I have decided to not tan at this location for the mere fact of the employees. If your miserable at your job, QUIT, you clearly don't like working there. They will not even honor cancellation paperwork (since according to Carrie they have none). They have BBB complaints up the yin yang that they just go unanswered. Had a disgusting conversation with their "regional manager" Carrie and as I thought Vinnie (also a "Regional Manager" never contacted her making him lazy and a liar. I can't believe these people have the nerve to call me with the same 90 day refund BS and then she yelled at me because I told her a 90 day refund was unacceptable. But I guess you can't expect brainiacs who work as tanning bed "managers". Think I'm making this up, do yourself a favor and google PALM BEACH TAN LAWSUITS. Or look a their BBB ratings. These people are a bunch of crooks and there are endless stories like mine. Please, there are so many other tanning salons, go there but stay away from PBT. IF YOU WANT YOUR BANK ACCOUNT RIPPED OFF GO HERE! While my initial experience at the salon was good it all came to a halt when my financial advisor asked me why I was being billed every month from a Palm Beach Tan. Since I was going through some serious health issues it took me a few days but I called the store and asked. They said I was still a current member and there was nothing they could do. I am 100% without a doubt, certain that I cancelled any "membership". I know this because I told the store manager that I would only be using it for one month and did not want to get pulled into a monthly fee scam. She agreed, stated she understood & that was that. I paid for ONE month of services then cancelled. On my last day I said goodbye to all the girls and told them I would not be back, they thanked me and that was that. Once I discovered what I assumed was a mistake I called the store and spoke with Cassidy (very sweet, remembered me and my circumstances). She agreed it was most likely an error and she would have to have her regional manager call me to discuss a full refund (she was only authorized to do a 90 day refund). I waited about 3 weeks before calling her back and telling her that this manger VINNIE had never called and I wanted my money back immediately. She gave me his number and I left him 4 or 5 voice mails before he finally answered on my 6th attempt. This guy was shady and arrogant from the beginning, telling me that "yah sometimes this stuff happens but I can't really do anything about it". He said he would look into it and call me back. Once again that didn't happen and I finally tracked down after days of leaving messages and he offered me the same 90 day refund that Cassie a sales clerk had offered me months ago. He explained it was corporate policy & it had to be followed. I suggested that with a title like Regional or District manager I would think he'd have slightly more pull than the desk clerk but he said he had "spoken to his boss and she said that was all that could be done" (I don't believe he ever even made this call). I told him that this was totally unacceptable, that what they had done was illegal... stealing and that I would take them to small claims court if I had to but that they would refund the money they had illegally taken out of my account. This Vinnie kid is a real trip, days went by and I heard nothing when he called again to offer me this "great idea he had come up with". He would refund me 90 days at a time, every 90 days until the refund was complete. I told him that if I couldn't trust him to return a phone call there was no way I was going to trust him with that and asked him to please contact my attorney. Its been nearly two weeks and not a word from Vinnie. Im just so stunned that this has gone on this long. Let me start by saying Becca is who greeted me when I walked in the door and is a true find! She remembered who I was from calling her a few days back and knew exactly why I was there (even though I had NEVER been there before). I decided on a Level 1 clear Mystic Kyss spray tan and Becca walked me through the process very thoroughly. I even told her I want to steal her and hire her as an employee at my firm! So, I am super white and my skin just doesn't tan, no matter how hard I try. Though, my sister is getting married so I would like to be tan(er). I just did the spray tan (since bed's are useless for me)... Tried the light, nothing. Tried the medium and it was barely noticable. Very nice place. I went there to tanning for the first time for my sister's wedding and everyone was very helpful and understanding since I had no idea what I was doing. They took coupons I printed off the website and walked through everything with me. I was surprised how clean the place was. It was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it. read more

These are the tan gurus for pale people. I am not one to go in a tanning bed being the major Burner that I am so I spray tan. Everywhere I go to spray tan I always end up looking some sort of orange tint. Here they were very knowledgeable about my skin tone and what spray Bed I should be going into that will not turn me orange. They educated me about the levels and why certain spray bed turn you orange. I highly recommend going here! read more

Nikki is hands down the worst employee let alone manager employed by Palm Beach in the history of the company. She is very rude, does not seem to appreciate customers based on her foul attitude when "greeting" customers at the counter. "Greeting" used generously that is. She always smells like cigarettes and is clearly always high on marijuana as she has admitted to me before. Also, I've witnessed her belittling her employees for doing their jobs correctly that SHE should be managing, hence the title manager. She is not knowledgeable about the equipment or especially the products for sale which is the point of the business if I'm not mistaken? As a pharmacist her explanations for the tanning lotions for sale were quite comical. She's never to be found upon request and over all does not adhere to the dress code that I am familiar with being a long time Palm Beach Tan client. Her still being employed comes as a complete surprise to me as she is the most unprofessional staff member of the store. I recall James was a excellent at customer service and kept the store in tip top shape as far as cleanliness as well as being extremely fluent in product and tanning knowledge. Becca is also a 5 star employee in regards to service, politeness and knowledge about tanning. Extremely disappointed in the manager Nikki and assistant manager Ashley as I believe Becca should hold those positions. Will be cancelling my membership if quality of service is not significantly improved. Palm Beach Tan used to be recommended by me to my friends as an awesome place to go however these days I feel embarassed recommending such a low class environment to my classy friends. Too bad it can't be like the old days, where Jon, Michelle, Becca, and James always made the tanning experience 100% pleasant. I have to agree with Erik here. I have been tanning here for many years. I love Palm Beach Tan. The Reps are Nice, Polite and have helpful Knowledge of the Products. I remember going in 1 day and seeing a new Rep there, James. I asked questions regarding some of the products and why some are different then others- I was VERY surprised at the Knowledge he had- he new So Much and explained everything with such confidence, even though he was new- he seemed as though he had been there for years. So I do believe they DO go Through extensive training. And to call them "clerks"? That truly is Disrespectful and Minimizes what they do. I RELY on these Reps here to give me helpful advice-and THEY DO! Sometimes you just can't reason with an Uninformed Disgruntled person. Seems to me this Patron is like a dog with a bone.. Reading that- Management Did Offer Solutions and Refunds. I don't understand the mindset with that person, but then again it is hard to decipher someone who has no Common Sense and is Rude. I like the Reps and they do NOT deserve to be beat up like this. They do a GREAT job! read more
