Customer service and facilities were good but the spray tan quality here is straight up awful. Sunday late afternoon - Before I went to get my spray tan, I showered and exfoliated and applied no skincare products. While there I bought and used the $10 primer packet all over, used the hand lotion as instructed, stood in the booth EXACTLY as the associate showed me, cleaned up after as I was instructed, wore loose clothing and did no sweaty activity for 18 hours. Monday morning - By the time I woke up the next day, my tan was crazy dark on my face compared to my body, uneven on my legs and arms, and you can see droplets all over my hands, legs, etc. I fixed with at home with a mitt and Bondi Sands on my arms and legs, and it looked as I'd hoped, except for my hands where it still has spray droplets that can't seem to be evened out. Little to no sweating and staying moisturized. Wednesday afternoon - I have orange patches in some spots, my hands are still spotty, and a square inch patch on my chest has rubbed off. Little to no sweating and staying moisturized still. I've gotten spray tans before and this has never happened elsewhere. I did *everything* I was supposed to do and this tan is crap. I've used Jergens and Bondi Sands at home that have worked better than whatever garbage LA Tan uses. I completely regret buying a 4 spray tan package. What a waste of money. read more

Contacted business to see if they could fit me in on a Saturday for an airbrush tan. Madison told me she could fit me in. No mention of any time restriction. Called the establishment at 1:05 to tell them I was running late - couldn't find the place! Was not told this would be an issue. Got there at 1:09 and Madison came up to the front desk to tell me she could not spray tan me bc I was late. (Again, Appt was changed at Wheaton location at last minute as explained on the phone. Got to Lombard location as soon as possible and was cancelled at 1:09. I feel like this was some kind of set up. Why meet me at the front desk to tell me you have to leave - it only takes 10 minutes and I called in advance to explain I was lost!) Terrible customer service and untruthful employees. Nice Facility! I've been a member here for many years and I have never been disappointed. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There have only been a couple of times I have had to wait to get a bed, but the wait was not very long. They have a great selection of products and different levels for whatever their client's need. You can "purchase by use", but a monthly package is your best buy, with convenient hours, open 8a to 10p, most days. read more

I went to this location instead of the one closest to my house because of great reviews and I'm glad I did. I wanted an airbrush tan because I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow night, and I didn't want to risk looking orange or patchy from the Versa. The manager Stevie did my spray and I have to say, she was AMAZING! She explained everything to me and did a very thorough spray. I have really bad eczema and dryness on my right hand, so she took extra care with the prep solution on that hand so I wouldn't have any patchiness. The process was pretty quick, and Stevie definitely put me at ease throughout the entire thing. If you're teetering on where to go, come here. I live closer to the L.A Tan on 75th than the one on Ogden. I choose to drive the extra 15 minutes because I absolutely love this place. The interior is very modern and they are always updating their tanning beds, but most importantly everything is spotless and organized. Love tanning here! I just moved to the area and bought a membership here. I pay like 70 a month for unlimited everything. I love the level 6 beds - Room 1 and Room 5! They are great quality, comfortable and I get an amazing, deep color after one session. They have a lot of products for sale as well and always have specials and promotions going on. With the winter months upon us comes the need for a little fakin' and bakin'. I personally have not tanned via sunbeds since probably...February of 2009? Maybe before that. I can't remember its been that long. I've recently moved to the suburbs and longed for something different than the Ultimate Exposure I frequented downtown in Chicago. The only thing nearby is the L.A. Tan on Ogden so I thought I would give it a whirl. With many locations through the city and 'burbs, I thought it would be a safe venture. And safe it was. Nothing fancy schmancy, nothing fantastic, but straight to the point tanning. The girl at the desk was pleasant, to the point, informative and very helpful. I'd printed out a web coupon for new clients and she informed me of a better deal, which saved me $50+ Right now they have a special where you: Buy $35, get a $50 gift card Buy $60, get a $100 gift card and another one....I think spend $100 get a $150 card?? Do NOT quote me...I don't have the money to spend $100 on a tanning package =) However, the location was pristine, super inviting, and they offer LARGE towels for courtesy hand-wiping and sweat-soaking, which I have not seen at any other tanning spots. I go there every now and then to get a spray tan for special occasions. The workers at the desk are super sweet and Liz is very good at explaining the different services and helps me choose the best one for me. I usually get an airbrush done by Sarah. She is extremely nice and comfortable to talk to even though you're practically naked haha. She always does a great job and the tanning solution develops very well. I love getting an airbrush done because of the precision and flawless look. The salon is always very clean and the other workers there are very sweet. They seem like they're cleaning all the time which is why the salon is very neat and sanitized. This is by far the nicest LA tan I have ever visited. The staff is extremely helpful and always give a great product recommendation when I need it- but they are never pushy and I never feel like I'm 'just another customer'. I'm absolutely one of those difficult clients who comes in totally clueless- 'what bed should I do? What lotion do I need?' And I am always beyond thrilled with the advice I get. They also have a great variety of really nice beds- both stand up and lay down. Something for everybody! Clean goes without saying with that 5 star rating. I am very unhappy with this place....just think as a long time customer decisions that were made could have been, different, known one could even really help me I was just turned away or told they could help me if I bought another package, its all about selling you a package, I never had one till last year and now I don't go as often and 25 sessions just expired I had no idea...because I had never bought a package before thats over 100 worth of stuff and to recover them I was told I would have to buy another package....also could not even tan unless I paid money, the only help I got was telling me this news and telling me yesterday they expired, and that I could talk to a manager during the week, nothing could be done today unless I bought another package, Pretty mad. I do not remember being told they expired my gift card which i always had never in the past expired ...I never knew this....and would not have known, nothing had ever expired on me before....no exception even just for today could be made and known there can make those decisions...cant even call someone....just let them leave....its all about the money and not about the customer read more

I've been to many LA tan locations but this one is by far my favorite. Not only is it always insanely clean but the girls truly take their time with each customer and are very educated on the beds and product! It's out of my way but I love going here for that exact reason. When I need a new lotion they go into specific detail about which one is best for me specifically and what it can do. The manager Stevie is a GOD SEND. She has so much knowledge and speaks passionately about each product. She' also sprayed me a few times and the spray tans I get from her make me look like I just got home from vacation! I've purchased all my lotions through her because of how in depth she goes with the product and I have loved each one I've purchased! This is an awesome Tan Spa. Most of the employees are very professional. The location is great with lots of available parking. The floor plan is pretty big and the rooms are spacious. You don't feel like you're in a closet. Not all the rooms have mirrors but other than that it's great. It's very clean and sanitary. Never a smudge on the acrylic either, thus far. Bathrooms are clean and they always have lots of clean, neatly folded towels available. The beds are amazing. They have a bed for every skin type which is nice. Levels 1-6 plus sunless and professional air brushing. Haven't tried those but it's seems pretty popular. The wait time isn't bad either. They have more than 1 bed for each level so rarely do I have to wait. They also have a fantastic lotion selection. Good range in price from a beginner to an avid tanner. L.A. Tan - Spray Tanning Near Me - Downers Grove, Illinois

Worst location I've ever been to! I stopped by this location because I recently moved and this location is closer than the Lisle location now. However, I now will go completely out of my way to go to the lisle location over this location every time! The people working here are NOT customer friendly and act as if you are inconveniencing them from their cell phones, cigarette breaks, or whatever else they happen to be doing. I used the Versa Spa which I have used many times at the Lisle location. This one however sprays completely uneven! I even went back a second time to see if it was just a fluke with the machine and same thing happened. Their level 2 spray is more like Lisle's level 1 spray. Also they ask if you want to pay an additional fee for the moisture spray (which I did the first time). Don't even waste your money because it doesn't fully dry before the color portion of the spray starts. Also if you choose not to do it, It still sprays that anyway so they tell you to just stay out of the Versa Spa until after it sprays that part and then to get in. I will still continue to go out of my way to avoid this location read more

I never experienced worse customer service for the money I'm paying, the one girl I believe it's Ashley is so unpleasant and ignorant that I decided not to go there anymore and I'm gonna make sure I will tell all my friends to drive few miles away to another location or different business..I'm surprised the owner is not doing anything about it, the manager is no better, and the whole place seems to be like they doing you a favor. I have been to this location on three separate occassions. The first time I got an Airbrush Tan, which I was very hesitant about but I really wanted to try it. I had called before I went in and the girl who answered the phone seemed like she was busy (she wasn't being rude) but put me on a brief hold only to come back and answer all of my crazy questions about their different spray tan services. I got my airbrush tan and have been very happy with the results so far. It looks like a real tan and is fading nicely. The girl who did it (can't remember her name) was very nice and made me feel comfortable. I ended up returning two days later because they were having a customer appreciate day where any tanning bed was $3 and so I tried their level 5. I was very happy with the bed. It didn't get hot at all (because there's AC with this bed) and the music was loud so you can hear it as you're relaxing soaking up the rays. I ended my session and ended up buying a package deal for the day because I was very happy and wanted to get a tan for a wedding in a few weeks. I have worked at a tanning salon and find this salon to be very nice. They have a lot of different types of bed and memberships/packages that you can work with. The girls (that I've met so far) have all been very nice and I'm very pleased. I recommend this place for sure! read more

I have been tanning since the first tan bed came out in Illinois. Fortunately I have been living in Florida the last 12 years. Came back this year for medical problems found an LA Fan less then a mile away. I was extremely pleased with the employee,new bulbs, presentation.... So I immediately became a VIP member! I paid for 2 weeks mid cycle ( which was only 1) but that's the only way their system operates.. Then starts your great monthly deal of 65.99. Which for some people might be great. I questioned the employee about the special they had going on 10 tan for $39. Was told my VIP was the best, of course if you are using all different beds and coming frequently; which do to my medical problems I was not getting out much. Spoke to manager she seemed to understand. To cut it short I became ill very quickly so I called my bank had a 3way conversation with the manager Sandy (who speaks so rapidly)it is difficult to understand. I bad to pay a fee & charges were taken out for this month. I was finally given a pass to go outside on ,8-8, so I thought I would run over & get that 10tan for $39. But of course that special is over. I'm leaving to go back to Florida within 2-3 weeks & only need 10 12 tan level 3. I can't believe there isn't a special going on at any of the tan spa! I also remember one that gave 2 wks. FREE to join. What happen go cleaning the hoods of the beds?!? , ANY TAN SPA OUT WILLING TO COMPETE WITH LA TAN ?! read more
