This is a great place to go to if you want authentic Indian food! My parents love this place and we go after church almost every week now. The restaurant is spacious and can sit a good amount of people. I highly recommend the Parotta and Beef Roast. Customer service was lacking because it simply wasn't there. I wasn't greeted at all. And the young woman never even smiled. But the Chicken Briyani came out hot, quick and delicious. It came with a small container of yogurt and herbs and red peppers. The Briyani was excellently seasoned and it had large pieces of chicken (its underneath the rice) that were tender and equally flavorful. The Chicken Briyani was $15.00 which i thought was a great price since its a laborious dish to make. I also purchased a mango flavored yogurt drink for $5.60. I've had food catered to my house and church events from this place ever since they opened. They've never failed me as their Kerala food authenticity is very high. We even go there, grab a curry, or thoran, on a given day my wife was unable to cook . However, having a 'dine in' there was not on my bucket list. The ambience is not like that of a regular restaurant. So many people lining up to pick up food and eating in a crowded area is not my cup of tea. However, even though the ambience remains the same, the food 'outsmarted' my other pet peeves. We had a vegetarian meal and a non- vegetarian meal along with a special Mackerel fry and Indian tea. I was sad to see that Kerala Kitchen had closed (maybe-not sure what happened) but very happy when I heard that Palm India also served Kerala food. Hooray! Reasonable prices and good portions (for most items) the Moru curry was delicious- but a bit too much ginger- The samosa was not what I expected- thin, tiny and not very tasty- the beef was salty. The chicken curry was spicy- I will ask for a medium spice level next time. I want to try the kerala meal next time. read more

Palm Indian restaurant cuisines are mainly coconut based curry. A self serve restaurant. However, they were very helpful and patient with us. Very cafeteria type of operations and large volume of takeout orders. We enjoyed our meals. Ambiance is very basic. The price is very reasonable. read more

In both dishes - the fish was probably not cleaned properly before cooking, because I could smell the insides of the fish. I really love the rice and the chicken in both the biriyani and curry are super juicy and pack full of flavors! BEST. KERALA. FOOD. IVE. EVER. HAD. We made a pickup order over the phone and paid when we picked up. The service was exceptional! We tried the south india Thali which included Kerala rice, Avial, cabbage thoran, beef fry, fish curry, Chamanthi and moru (yogurt). It also came with a dessert for which I don't know the name but was delicious!! I also got to try the kappa (tapioca) and it was just like my parents! Hands down, Palm India is the best option for Malayali food in Dallas (Bay Leaf is another decent option in Dallas). We had no doubt in our mind to go with Palm India for catering in food for our Engg batch's reunion that happened over the weekend. For evening tea, we took Pazhampori and Parippu vada. Their Pazhampori is famed and it delivered to its promise - trip for getting a Pazhampori right to select plantain that is ripe to the correct extent. For dinner, we had Pepper Chicken, Gobi Manchurian, Beef curry, Pathiri, Chicken Biriyani, Veg Biriyani, Kappa, Fish curry, Chammanthi and Ada payasam. People loved their dinner and when it came to breakfast, it went one step further - the Egg Kurma got wiped out, folks ended up skipping lunch after a heavy breakfast that included Idiyappam, Idly, Sambhar, Chutney and Egg kurma. Pathetic service, poor ambience. They took my order and told 15 mnt wait time. After 20 mnts when I checked with them they completely forgot about my order. It is not like the shop was full only two other table were occupied. I waited for 45 mnts , because kids were already hungry. Still they said 2 more mnts. A week ago we got the opportunity to taste the chicken biriyani, which was spicy and delicious. So on Sunday, I ordered a mutton biriyani to go. It took a while for the food to be made, as they make mutton biriyani on order. One order of biriyani, my wife and I had it for lunch and we had some leftovers also. It was delicious.
