Bright and clean- snacks were neatly on display. Amazing prices! Loved the variety of snacks in the display- but missed the mark when I asked for a hot cup of chai- it was on the menu, no luck. I settled for a cup of coffee and it was so good! Thumbs up there. Couple of possible revisions: -it was super hot inside, definitely felt like india. Don't be put off byt he fact it's located inside a 7/11 type store the food is very authentic and the gentleman behind the counter was very helpful. I've slways had to wait since I usually walk in; seems a lot of people order ahead. I would make the drive to order more often but honestly it's too spicy and hot for my western tastebuds. My family orders food from Bay Leaf all the time. The owner is super nice and friendly. You do have to order ahead or else the wait time is very long. The Kerala food from here is probably one of my favorite in dallas. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Kerala food. It is pretty authentic so expect the spiciness and all that comes along with it. I think my favorite item off the menu is the chicken curry. This place is the fuel city of Kerala Food lol. STAY AWAY!!! Like many, I was skeptical of this restaurant being in a gas station, but the other reviews lauded the amazing taste and cheap prices. Well that comes at a cost. That night, I got chills and body aches. Thinking I might just have a cold, I went to bed thinking I just needed some rest. The next day I felt like I had a rock in my stomach, with the accompanying bloating and stomach cramps. I stayed away from eating thinking I maybe just over ate, but the pain only got worse, accompanied with diarrhea, nauseousness, and the occasional gagging which culminated in me vomiting three times the next evening. Finally felt better but knew that it was definitely food poisoning. I don't know what kind of sanitation practices they have but they are clearly not sufficient. There are very few exceptions to the "don't eat at a gas station" rule I have, and think most people should naturally have for themselves. Bay Leaf Garden presents one of those exceptions. Perhaps because it is new, and perhaps because it is so close to my home I was very curious to try it. I have a strange relationship with South Asian food. I love it and yet can't stand it. The spice nearly does me in every time, as my sissy taste buds squirm and beg for more water I continue to shove the food down my gub. This was one of those experiences as the chef asked if I like Spicy and I like an idiot answered in the affirmative, always forgetting that I think I like spicy but have very little experience with the true sense of the word, but I digress. He recommended Chilli Chicken which is from their Indo-Chinese portion of the menu. The ginger, and pepper are extremely present in this dish, along with a sweetness that did little to nothing to quel the fiery inferno from the peppers. The order did not come with rice but anticipating what a spice wuss I am the chef gave me a free giant portion of basmati which I enjoyed with my Chilli Chicken by pouring the chicken and sauce over it. I can't wait to try their more traditionally South Asian dishes such as Chicken Curry! Next time you fuel up here don't fail to stop in for food! read more

I noticed they tell customer it will be ready 20-30 minutes but originally it will be more than a hour. I don't think that's fair.
