This is a cute little shop in downtown Dundee... However, the staff just isn't very friendly and welcoming. We've been in here before and took a picture of something because we thought it was cute, not because we were going to look for it online and not purchase it there. We immediately got chastised by the person by the desk that said no photos. Would be smart of them to have a sign either outside the door or inside the door, but nothing of the sort.we recently went in there again about 10 minutes before closing time and we Amelia told get your shopping in fast. We're about ready to close. This place specializes in customers plenty of other shops in downtown Dunedin to find things like this, so I would keep looking until they're attitude improves. read more

If I could leave a 0 start review, I would. The woman at the counter (i'm assuming is the owner) is extremely rude and not welcoming. I heard her yell at another customer "no photos" like her store didn't have items you could get off of Amazon. After my purchase, she basically threw my bag at me and grabbed her phone to play a game on it. Not welcoming and I will NOT be returning. I am a local and brought my friends here to shop. If you want to be treated like a crap this is the place to go. The woman who runs/owns the shop is possibly the most rude person I have had the displeasure to come across. This is not the first time I have been treated poorly at this shop, but I really thought it had changed owners. It has not. We had a handful of items that we planned to buy but when she loudly berated my friend for trying on children's sunglasses (my friend has a small face and children's glasses are what she wears), we left. We moved here 2 years ago. We decided to finally check out the local boutiques. We were enjoying ourselves in the store. Our first encounter with this person was her making my husband feel ignorant for trying to see what clothing she had. He didn't know she only had women's clothes located in the back area and she blocked him from moving forward and she stated it's just women's clothing, she made it uncomfortable. Shortly after that I got a call and answered it in store. It was my daughter FaceTiming me who currently serves in the military. I thought I would show her a few items to make her smile, so I flipped the phone so she can see the merchandise. The same ladies brash voice stated "no photos in the store". She made it a moot point in front of many shopping.I peacefully decided not to pitch a fit have class and remove myself from the store. As I am trying to leave she unknowingly was blocking me because the store has small walking spaces. We will not patron this store again. Based on other reviews she has moments. Definitely a Florida shop that if you are out of town or are just obsessed with bright, bold, loud tropical everything this is the place to go. There is stuff in every direction including jewelry, cups, mugs, lamps, blankets, ornaments, signs, clothes. Everything you can ever find. There will be stuff you die for and stuff you don't need, but it's so darn cute you will get it. I love going to this store every time I'm in Dunedin. I'll stare at everything forever and pick a whole bunch of stuff and then put half of it down. I go crazy in here. read more

However, from the moment you walk into the store, you are bombarded with merchandise. Another drawback of this shop was the owner. She was rude and dismissive to her customers. This is a super fun shop with lots of merchandise to look through. They have the largest selection of beach coverups and coastal souvenirs. The service was very nice and welcoming. Next time my relatives come to visit I will definitely take them to this shop along with the other delightful shops in downtown Dunedin including high end jewelry, art, and a lovely book store. This is a really cool beach themed souvenir store. It's a bit better than your average souvenir store with the awesome decorations hanging from the ceiling and the amount of mermaid themed items. One of the more touristy type of shops in Dunedin for sure, but it does have some redeeming qualities. I plan on outfitting my cigar smoking area at home with some cheesy Tiki type stuff. I'm not sure why I like the stuff, but I do. And since this shop has a ton of stuff that fits the bill, I plan on taking full advantage of it. The store is a little cramped, so try to avoid it during the weekends. read more

After reading reviews saying the store owner is rude I would like to counter that. She is a very sweet lady who is at higher risk for covid therefore, she did make the mask mandate strict in her store. This is how she makes a living and if she gets covid then there is no one to run her store therefore she won't make any money. If you don't want to keep a mask on while in the store then don't enter. I haven't been in awhile so I am not sure if she is still strict about masks. But please keep this in mind while you read other reviews. I will never return to this shop. The owner was extremely rude twice - once when we couldn't find a price on an item we were interested in and again when she realized we had umbrellas with us (um, it was raining!). I have been to this shop numerous times, both to browse and to make purchases. The selection of merchandise is great. I love all the different, unique items, in particular the metal hanging sea creatures. But after my visit today, I won't be coming back. Today, I came in to the shop just to browse, with my three kids. My daughter brought a bag to show me and as she left to go return it to the rack, the owner, who sat behind the cash register, gestured to an employee to follow my kids and me. This employee did so and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. She made us feel almost like criminals, even though all we did was browse and show each other the items we liked. Once we were done uncomfortably browsing, I had my kids leave and wait for me while I went to speak to the surly-faced owner. I told her how her and her employee's behavior made us uncomfortable. She said, and I quote, "Young people steal and I've had a lot of it. It's a fact of life. Welcome to the real world. If your kids don't steal, then you shouldn't be upset." There was no apology for her behavior or for how she made my family feel. Her behavior and mannerisms were incredibly rude and her facial expressions suggested that we were wasting her time. This is not a woman who understands what customer service is, nor should she be in business. Since this woman clearly does not like or respect "young people", I would like to make a suggestion to her. I would suggest that she treat her shop like a bar. She should have a sign on the door that bars entrance to anyone under the age of 21 or, just to be on the safe side, anyone under the age of 35. read more

Love everything about this store! During COVID they are requiring everyone wear a mask which makes me feel safe while I shop and looks for items. As a Dunedin local, I was COMPLETELY embarrassed by having my family walk in this store. The customer service was completely disrespectful. One of my family members had a cloth mask that she was trying to adjust so that she could talk and the second she moved it she got screamed at, embarrassing her in front of the entire store. She started screaming "YOU NEED TO LEAVE" over and over as she was still trying to get out of the store. She also had the lady RIP an ornament right out of her hand! Can't imagine what someone with a serious medical condition would have to do to purchase something in this store. You don't have to be nasty. I'll never recommend this store to anyone. read more

This is one of the most interesting stores on Dunedin Main Street! You never know what you will find here. Beach themed clothes, casual beads, bracelets & necklaces, hats, house accessories, even Christmas stuff! Most tourists will hit this place. Reading other comments across her FB, google, and Yelp reviews it's seems to be a common complaint that the owner is rude! I simply adjusted my mask and she yelled at me loudly in front of other customers making a scene! If you're that worried about COVID maybe you shouldn't be open and you should limit the amount of people allowed in the store as owner was NOT practicing 6 feet distancing rules! The women working appeared to be a mother and daughter duo, and they were so kind to me and my two (vacation-crazy) children! I was super excited to buy a few Christmas presents for my mother. I saw an adorable jellyfish ornament and I was Facetiming my sister asking her opinion when the employee/owner? rudely stated I wasn't allowed to take photographs inside of the store (which I wasn't). I did not even see a visible sign saying this was not allowed. I went to the Dunedin craft far today and I went into this shop cause my daughter wanted to look at a mermaid doll and as she was looking at it my one year old son picked up a car coaster off the ground and then dropped it on the ground and it put a lil chip in it, then this lady who worked there looked at me and then rudely pointed me to the checkout counter and yelled across the shop to another employee saying she has to pay for that and make sure she doesn't leave! Really? It's a car coaster that is the size of a silver dollar and it was $4.95 and my son is only one plus he had picked it off of the floor, it also is over priced cause I've seen them before in Tarpon Springs for $2.00 and on top of that once I gave her the car coaster as I was paying for it she went to throw it away and I'm like ahh.... if I'm paying for it I'll keep thank you very much! To end this review I'm telling all customers that anything you see in this store is dbl the price then you will find it anywhere else around the area and they are very rude people I won't recommend this store to anyone especially people with younger children cause heavens for bid they pick something up from off the ground that's under $5 and it barely brakes. read more
