We were visiting the Bradenton area for a week and saw the Palma Sola Botanical Gardens and knew we had to go! When we travel to different cities with our Rv we try and find local botanical gardens. This garden is so nice and love all the plants and trees they have! The Plumeria section was beautiful and healthy. My wife FaceTimed her mom to show her (she is on a Plumeria group in Jacksonville that grows them and enters them in awards). She even said "wow"! We definitely recommend you visit this garden. Just some advice; wear insect repellent! There was a section in the gardens that was taken over by mosquitoes! I never get bit but today OH MY GOSH I had at least 10 on me and any given time. Once we left that section all was well and no more issues.

Palma Sola Botanical Park had a nice little Xmas Event with Christmas Lights. It was a free event where they accepted donations for money to keep up their park. They had sponsors as well and those areas had different lights in different areas of the park. There was some very neat Christmas light displays and they also had a Surfing Santa and a band. It was nice to check it out here and would love to see it during the day. Parking was at Robinson Preserve right across the street. This is not far from Anna Maria Island as well.

I have been here so many times!! First off- it's FREE!!! And the gardens are just a pretty place to walk around. They have a butterfly garden, cornfield, pond with turtles by the parking lot, cactus area, and a fruit orchard- lots of trees with all different types of fruits!! (For looking only) They accept donations. Dogs are allowed as long as you pick up after them- poop bags are a couple places around the gardens. My husband says this place is so small, but each time I bring someone we are there for 45 mins to an hour.

Amazing place. First time there but definitely not last. Visited on early February, so maybe not the best time, but it was very worthy.

A gem of a botanical garden! Donation based, and a leisurely stroll through some exotic plants. Great for practicing your photography or sketching/painting skills.

This is a small but lovely little botanical garden. There are some cool flowers and trees.and a lovely area of exotic fruit trees. You can see star fruit, pomegranate, dragon fruit vine, lychee, longan, mango, avocado, persimmon and lots of other varieties growing, flowering and fruiting, depending when you go.. Fruit is seasonal despite what Publix will have you believe.. :P There is also a cactus garden, some ponds, and lots of photo opportunities. A picnic area. Robinson Preserve with a nice 2.3 mile paved bike trail (running, dogwalking, roller blading, walking welcome too) and nice viewpoint offshoots is across the road. Geraldson Community Farm share is down the road a hop, and Geraldson Farm Market stand is around the corner. All lovely to see and explore. There is also a commercial nursery nearby growing ferns, pointsettias, roses, geraniums and other flora. Lovely big hiuses around the area too Enjoy!!! Keep an eye out for birds and butterflies. The screw pine and other tree specimens are super cool. Lots of great stuff grows in Florida..

My parents have lived in Bradenton for a year and hadn't yet noticed this gem of a park just a few miles away! The park is free and open 365 days which is amazing. Staffed and funded by volunteers, it's a meticulously kept space that offers the scenery, plant/tree diversity and cleanliness of a for profit attraction. Will come back with a picnic!

Botanical park. A paradise to enjoy. Pagoda Flower towers over the others.

The hiking trails are great, the kayak launches make it easy to get out on the water, and the observation tower is a must--climb to the top for an awesome bird's-eye view, including the Sunshine Skyway Bridge showing off in the distance. There are plenty of picnic spots, plus a pavilion with nearby restrooms (always a win). One of our favorite things is walking out to the Portavant Temple Mound, where helpful signs bring the area's history to life. And if you're looking for photo ops, this place delivers--nature shots, family photos, you name it. We've had ours taken here more than once. No matter if you're exploring, relaxing, or snapping pictures, Emerson Point always has beauty waiting around the corner. There's even a welcome center near the pavilion to get you started. A perfect spot to wander, relax, and fall a little in love with Florida!

I love Payne Park…read more I do NOT like too many of the people that use it. Recently, the number of unsupervised kids that are riding their bikes, scooters, and electric do dads are inconsiderate with their use of the sidewalks, their total lack of attention to their surroundings and other people. These kids need more adult supervision and parents need to take more time teaching them manners. I also am taking exception to the growing number of pet owners that think THEIR dogs don't need to be properly trained, leashed, or picked up after. The 5 O'Clock group of owners that let their dogs off theie leads and let them just take over a section of the park is non-sense. Read the signs. That is not acceptable. On several occasions, while just walking I have been run up on by dogs showing their teeth. I stop, sayd nice doggy and then move on. But some day, if I do get bit by one of these unruly monsters, their entiled owners will owe me money they haven't even made yet. I would like to see more of a park police presence for a while to get the kids and dog owners back to being decent people. And to the people that are feeding the ducks and squirrels, STOP. Read the signs. You aren't doing the wildlife any favors by feeding them and you aren't doing the other people that use the park any favors either. Payne Park is beautiful; a great place to enjoy the out of doors and the wonderful weather in Sarasota. Kids and Pet owners don't have the right to ruin the experience for everyone else. Oh, and teenagers, we know you are smoking pot there. Move away from the popular walking areas. Your weed smell like skunk butt.

When I saw the beach I couldn't believe my eyes. The water was a gorgeous color of blue/green! It was hard to belive this was Florida lol. We walked for a while and I found some pretty shells to take home from my adventure. This part of the beach wasn't too crowded which I loved. A few people were fishing and others were sitting and relaxing. While a few tourists were in the water. Brrrr it was too cold for me. I only let it hit my feet lol.
