In February, we signed a formal contract & paid a deposit booking R&R's shuttle service to drive our guests from the hotel to venue and from the venue back to the hotel, at the end of our wedding. 3 Months away from our wedding, we receive a call from R&R cancelling their service because Formula 1 was happening the same weekend of our wedding. They would most likely generate more money from servicing other clients to Formula 1 than our wedding. Fortunately, we will get our deposit back however there was no penalty for R&R Canceling our contract. We're now scrambling to book a transportation service 3 months away from our wedding. Do not book R&R as they're unreliable and their service depends on how financially beneficial your needs are to them. Our planner also made efforts to reach out to R&R and they told them the same reason for the cancellation. Needless to say, or planner was just as shocked as we were, as they've worked with them multiple times in the past.

Oct 28 is Emma's Birthday... so Magnolia Hotel decided to open the doors to celebrate! Free tours…read morefrom 10am-2pm! I just happened to see something come through my newsfeed over Fb, I bookmarked it, found my schedule open, so headed east to check it out. Emma likes to play in her room... and who doesn't like to play with little spirits?! I didn't know the history of the Magnolia Hotel so was totally clueless walking in the door... Magnolia Hotel has been on Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel. Also, Magnolia Hotel is ~not~ a hotel, it is now a personal residence. To my delight, I was able to hear stories of the old hotel, tales of it's past residents many of which have never left, and how Magnolia Hotel was discovered by the owners. Jim & Erin saved the Magnolia from being demolished... they single handedly have saved a part of Seguin history!... and some haunted history at that! I spent about two hours just hanging out, looking around, and people watching... talked to some interesting people, listening to questions and answers... all very interesting. Did I have an experience? I had something creepy go up the back of my left neck and skull as I was talking to a ghost hunter in the original dining area where the owner was sitting. I also felt some weird things around the house... but something I brushed off at first until I started listening to others talk about it... when you first come up the stairs, it feels really heavy. I originally brushed it off as I just walked up the stairs... but no, go back and you feel it... and everyone was feeling it!!! Emma was playing in her room. One of the guides said just a few minutes earlier, a little girl got scratched. Then someone told her that they saw the door knob in the pink bathroom turn back and forth. The owner, Erin, said this house is more active during the day than at night. Wow! The owners Jim & Erin host a ghost tour in their home on occasion, which books up months in advance. The tour last about 2 hours with in-depth stories which might also include a spiritual reading from the Erin at the end (but only if deceased wish to come forward). Erin has written Haunted New Braunfels, Haunted Seguin, and soon to be released Haunted Magnolia House. All proceeds go towards restoring the Magnolia Hotel. Just nasty. Our bathroom was so dated needed caulking all along the floor and shower in the worst of ways. Whenever you did shower pretty sure water might have been leaking under the tub. The carpet was filthy - dark stains on it. Tons of highway noise.Their breakfast consisted of coffee, apples and pieces of bread laying in their giant container to grab not individually wrapped like most places are doing now during covid. Oh there was also a waffle machine. Sleep here was awful not sure if it was because all the highway noise or the fact that i felt like i was in a super dirty hotel room during coronavirus. Either way i wouldn't stay here again.

I had to call Hilton so they could connect me with this hotel because apparently Hilton has a mystical magical phone number that works. The parking situation sucks here too. Don't get here late because you won't find parking, and when you do, if one car parks too close to the line or over the line, this pushes all the cars into other parking stalls in an already small parking lot. The best is when you walk up and someone is smoking a blunt in the parking lot by the dumpsters as you walk your 11-year-old through to get to the lobby. The elevators are also frightening here too. They shudder and shake as you ride them, and you pray that you will survive the trip up to your room. Of course, the hotel staff doesn't tell you when they shut down the elevators either, so you may be stuck on your floor if you can't use the stairs to get down to the first floor. As for the rooms, there are marks all over the walls. The beds are uncomfortable, and the rooms smell. Our room looked like a crime scene all over the walls. I would understand this hotel being in this condition if I paid Motel 6 prices, but I paid the price of a typical Hampton Hotel, and what we got was a roach motel. I am so sad that I wasted my money on this place. I stayed here years ago and it was a beautiful hotel. Now this place looks like it is on the same level as a rundown Comfort Inn in Chipley, Florida, which was just as disgusting. Won't be coming here ever again.
