Had an opportunity to stop in at this Goodwill Thrift store in South Carolina, to get the first sense of how the retail side of Goodwill operates in the South. The location had a clear preference for clothes, all individually priced and well organized (hung). The inside is one giant warehouse with tall ceilings and makeshift dressing rooms. Out of the three Goodwills that we stopped by during our trip, this location was the one my wife shopped in the longest. Because a lot of time was spent sorting and pricing the clothes, real bargains were rare with most clothes between $5 and $10 in price. There weren't really much non-clothes (furniture, books, music) in the store, which was the same at the other Goodwills in the area as well. read more

This Goodwill Store is huge and not well organized. The racks are so full that it makes it difficult to shop. Many items did not have prices on them. It took a long time to find someone to get a price when one was needed. The staff are very nice. We do appreciate the senior discount. read more

This huge sales floor has everything and lots of it. Massive. We had no problem finding the jeans which were reasonably organized. With a few minutes of searching, I'd found four pairs that my wife agreed were worth trying on. So while she headed off to wait for a dressing room, I wandered the rest. Furniture, kitchenware, golf clubs, bicycles, books, DVDs. When she popped out of the dressing room with three pairs of jeans, I had a pizza stone and we got in the queue. This is the best Goodwill I've been too. It's HUGE. You could spend hours if you looked at everything. I've always found name brands, and good quality stuff here. You have to wait to checkout usually in a big line, so give yourself plenty of time. read more

So disappointed in this Goodwill. They have mostly broken garbage on their home decor shelves. It is disorganized with way too much Christmas and past seasonal items. The clothes appear more organized. Not worth your time if you're looking for home decor items. They really need a major clean out. read more

This is clean and well-maintained facility, with a large selection of items to explore and browse. We stop in here each year, during our visits to Myrtle Beach; and often find an item or two providing some temptation. This is one of the best Goodwill stores I've ever been to. They have a huge selection and everything is so well organized. The staff was very helpful even willing to hold some furniture items mom bought for an extra couple days until we could get back with a truck. On Wednesdays they offer 20% off to seniors 55+ and you can get a loyalty card that will give you 25% off your purchase any day of the week once you build up points. read more

I absolutely love this place. After I outgrew my wardrobe and realized it would no longer fit again, I brought thousands and thousands of dollars worth of clothing here. I brought my son's jeans and tee shirts here, all in perfect condition. I have donated Dooney and Bourke handbags and other designer items. I am met with personnel at the drive up, who are so polite and helpful, they remove the items from my car. I am given a receipt, with a coupon attached for 10% off any purchase. On the flip side, upon entering the shop, I am pleasantly greeted at the door. To the right is women's clothing, the left is mens and children's. The rear and right wall are loaded with shelves of home goods, and in front of them is donated furniture. I love to browse through this store and see what is available to buy. The interesting thing in the women's department is how they divide the tops by color, then size. This is a sweet idea. The prices charged are such a small fraction of the original cost. The proceeds goes to charity, which is a complete win-win situation. I have shopped here and got some great deals. All in all, this is just a win-win store, and I continue to shop and donate here. read more

My friends and I spent 2-3 hours in this location. I am not at all a fan of how they have their shoes set up. You are forced to walk through the entire store if you want to see all of the shoes that they have available. Did I mention this is one of the largest GW stores that I have ever been too? No, well, this is one of the Largest GW stores that I have visited and I didn't care for walking through a maze of clothes just to look at shoes. Funny thing is that I ended up buying clothes and not shoes. Why, cause I had to look at the damn clothes that surrounded the shoes so I saw crap that I didn't need but bought anyway. HUH! Anyway, they do things differently in SC than they do in Atlanta. They don't go by the Color of the week for half off items like we do in Atlanta. They use colors for inventory purposes only. They do have a system set in place for 50% off items but I could not remember how it works. They have a huge area in the store dedicated for household items that they kept stocking while we were there. But it was a hot azz mess as they only had a couple of staff members stocking items and about 4-5 racks of items to put out. We had to literally step over several items in that part of the store. I thought the prices were too high for a Thrift Store. For instance Leather STARTED at about $20. Then they tell you according to length how much a skirt or coat will cost. I like the fact that they had plenty of items to choose from and that they have a Perks or Rewards card here. read more

I took my daughter here as she wanted to go to a thrift store because it's trendy. First, the building was really nice. Looked better than some normal clothing stores. It had a large range of clothes, but my daughter said it was mostly "boomer" clothes. I said it's because old people die and their clothes get sent there. I like that it's a non-profit and only bring my used clothing to non-profits. Give it a shot. read more

This Goodwill used to be one of my favorite places to shop.. much like a hobby. But I was ultimately scammed by an employee who misinformed me into a purchase, and that costly mistake subsequently cancelled my consumerism at not only this location, but the franchise. There were no exchanges or returns- so there was nothing that could've been done, and no attempts were even made. A lot of money down the drain without a resolution. The few good things about this store include Heather, a very cordial employee, and the store's adequate tidiness. Other than that- please avoid making big purchases at this goodwill- even if the staff portray themselves as friendly and knowledgeable, they will not stray you away from making a poor purchase; rather vice versa. read more

This is the nicer (and newer) of the area thrift stores. Their particular strength is clothes and they have a solid selection of very high quality in very good condition. Their selection of furniture, kitchenware, and electronics is always lower than most of the other stores. I've gotten some good vintage glass on occasion. read more

I travel for my job and get to thrift all over the country. I've been in a lot of Goodwill's, this is a good one. I mainly shop for props and wardrobes for my fashion photo shoots. Their selection was pretty good. The store is well organized and the staff is very helpful. The only issue is that they do not separate the clothes by size, which is a tiny inconvenience. First time shopping here. It's a clean store. A little musty but hey it's used stuff so I expect to sneeze. Found a great Mohawk bike helmet for my grandson for $3.99. Got shirt with the ticket still on it for $3.99. Found out that Goodwills in south MB has their own frequent shopper card; get 1 point for every dollar spent and get 25%off with 250 points. I like it!!! Only reason I didn't say I love it cause I think that Goodwills are Goodwills and all of them should have one card and they should all offer it. I don't blame the individual store as it is a corporate decision so this store still gets 5 stars. I just got to remember to bring the card. read more

New buildings look good, may be one of the busiest stores around. They even have a rewards card can you believe that. I got a pair of jeans in very good condition for $3.79. I don't know how they come up with the pricing must be some new kind of idea everything ends with strange numbers like 2.21 things like that. The store has mens clothes but I really could not get into any other then the jeans. They do have alot of womans clothes and my wife also bought a pair of pants for $3.79 also. They have books, small appliances, forks, spoons things like that. It's a must see at least once, the parking lot is just about always full. read more
