I'm not quite sure where to start.. I got married at the end of June. I was very nervous about picking a florist because I LOVE flowers and I had a specific vision of what I wanted. After months of looking on Pinterest, my expectations for floral designs were pretty extravagant. Even starting from the first meeting with Heidi and her husband, I knew they were going to be perfect. They make a wonderful team. They are so organized and ask great questions to really understand your vision. They also give great advice and recommendations to get what you want within your price range. They are so flexible and accommodating. And they go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect. They both came out on the wedding day to make sure everything was perfect (which was so nice!) Heidi even added some flowers onto the wedding cake, which we didn't even have in our contract. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. The flowers were so fresh and beautiful and everyone could not stop raving about them. They kept asking where I found the florist (it was just through yelp!) I really cannot say enough great things about them. You will regret not choosing them to be your wedding day or any special day florist. Kathy at Palomino was wonderful to work with. She took our wedding vision and made it both gorgeous and memorable. We had specific family heirlooms incorporated into our flowers and she followed through with our requests perfectly. Not only was she early with all the bouquets and boutonnieres on the day of the wedding, she was timely to all requests and inquiries. The reception venue was absolutely gorgeous and the flower arrangements exceeded our expectations (bigger and more beautiful). It was such a pleasure to work with Heidi and Palomino Floral Designs for our wedding! My new husband and I met her back in October 2016 to look at floral designs for our wedding in August 2017. Being dragged along to pick flowers wasn't my idea of a good time! Kathy was very amiable and more than knowledgable when helping us select colors and flowers. We had actually seen her floral arrangements at another location by chance when touring potential reception sites. That alone was enough to check her out and we were not disappointed. The colors and flowers were exactly as described and was a big relief for my wife. They also lasted a long time after the date. Table flowers were also so pretty that we had no shortage of takers. The brides bouquet was the heaviest bunch of flowers I have ever carried as it was too heavy for the wifey to hold all day for the photoshoot! Their passion and expertise for floral arrangements is clearly evident in everything from the actual flowers to the vases to the set-up. Their flower arrangements are impressive and top tier. I gave the color scheme, a few ideas/descriptions, and my centerpieces turned out gorgeous and even better than I imagined. Once the order was placed, everything else was seamless, and since you usually have a million things going on before an event, it was one less thing I had to worry about. I did not book with Palomino, and was incredibly unimpressed by their consultation. They began by asking about all our quantities (bouquets, corsages, etc) rather than trying to get a feel for any design elements we wanted. All of their pictures were online, on either Flickr or Facebook, rather than on the computer they were using, and most of the consultation consisted of them scrolling through the pictures rather than trying to tailor anything along the lines of an arrangement to us. I told them at the beginning of the consultation that I was allergic to roses, and did not want orchids, and after correcting them twice on suggestions for each flower, just gave up. They were unable to ballpark a quote for us at the time of the consultation, and advised that they would email us the quote later that day. I had to ask for the quote to be sent to us three days later, did not receive it until two days after that, and it was more than twice the amount of the other two florists we interviewed. I found their presentation to be focused on what they had already done, and did not feel as though they were working to try to create something new or original, or at all special with my wedding. read more

I really can't say enough nice things about Kathy and Palomino. First of all, I came in with kind of an "outside the box" set of ideas. (No roses, instead I wanted weird flowers like snapdragons and tiger lilies in crazy, splashy citrus colors - lots of variance in texture & height!) I've seen a million classic and gorgeous rose-or-calla-lily-hand-tied type bouquets, and yes, Palomino can do those too and do them well. However, I wanted those flowers to practically leap off our otherwise monochromatic palate. Kathy made me feel like my ideas were more cool and fun than bizarre and I was really excited to see what she came up with. Then, come time for us to have our final meeting, a family tragedy struck my family literally moments before I was supposed to be there. I came in late and kind of sobby, without my final payment and Kathy could not have been sweeter or more understanding about it. She's not just a good businesswoman, she's a good human being. ...and the kicker? The flowers were UH-MAY-ZING. My literal gut-check reaction was, "Oh my god, these are PERFECT." They could not have been more what I envisioned. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants flowers that pop at their wedding. read more

I actually found out about Palomino from a friend who got married 2 years ago. I loved her flowers so much that i knew i would be using the same company for our wedding. I met with Kathy a few times and showed her some pictures of what i liked but told her to do her thing and adjust accordingly. The centerpieces turned out better then i could have ever imagined. She even fixed a small miscount on my table/centerpiece ratio by making a quick centerpiece for it! If you give her your budget she'll work with you and give you the most for your money! She has a wonderful family-owned business; she is a total professional, she keeps her word, and she will work with you to create centerpieces that you couldn't even picture. My bouquet was exactly as I wanted it - beautiful lavender roses with baby's-breath underneath. My centerpieces were gorgeous; everyone complimented the flowers (as soon as I have pictures of the centerpieces I will post those, as well). We were fortunate to work with Palomino Floral for our 7/27/14 wedding. We found them online, read the great reviews, and were able to meet with them in their Schaumburg office. During our first meeting, Heidi and her husband were very thorough, going over all the floral needs for our wedding that we had planned for and things we hadn't discussed. We came in with ideas and they provided us with albums showcasing their work which helped us narrow our decisions. After the meeting, Heidi was very prompt to email us a quote with all the details. Everything was clearly explained and all the charges were noted. She was very flexible in making changes as well. We also met with them two weeks before our wedding to confirm everything was ready to go. On the day of our wedding, Heidi and her husband arrived on time and were flexible. Our caterer was running late but Palomino Floral waited and set up everything (center pieces, cake flowers, roses for mothers) once they were able. Our wedding was outdoors and their flowers were gorgeous and exactly what we wanted, complimenting the venue's atmosphere. They were also prompt in delivering our personals. All the flowers were labeled so ring bearers, groomsmen, and the rest of the bridal party could easily find their arrangements. I can't express how truly impressed we were with Palomino Floral Designs. I originally chose this company because of the pictures I saw on their website. Their flowers were some of the only I found that were fully open, and just absolutely gorgeous. I was taken with them even when I saw the pictures of the flowers online...gorgeous. Other companies seemed to have flowers that were not fully open (roses that were still tightly closed in the bouquets, etc.). If you look at their pictures, you'll see what I mean! And the colors of the flowers..wow. From our first meeting, we were struck by the true professionalism of this company (Heidi and her husband are absolutely wonderful). They listened to everything we wanted, and really understood our vision. They were flexible, kind, and patient, which is such a refreshing combination when you're in the middle of wedding planning! On the day of the wedding, the team arrived like clockwork, exactly when they said they would. They came in with the flowers and I literally lost my breath. They were so. beautiful. Absolutely perfection. It was like a dream come true. They dropped off the bouquets for myself and the bridesmaids, and went to set up the ceremony. Without a word from me, they knew exactly what to do. When everyone is asking a billion questions, it was such a refreshing change to have them get right to business! I entered the room for the ceremony a few hours later, and again lost my breath with how gorgeous the room looked- exactly how we had described and better than I even pictured in my head. Absolutely wonderful. Finally, we had asked Palomino to flip the room during cocktail hour for the reception (no easy task!). When I re-entered the room for the reception, it had literally been transformed. I can't even describe the beauty. I almost fell over when I saw how gorgeous everything looked. Down to the greatest detail, the flowers were stunning, and they had created the most romantic atmosphere. I felt like I was dreaming. My flowers for my wedding were amazing. Kathy was nice to work with. I do not know much about flowers, and when I tried to visualize what my wedding bouquet would look like.. I had no idea. When sitting down with Kathy I was able to look though many pictures of samples and examples. I had a much better idea of what I wanted after talking with her just once. I very vaguely explained what I envisioned and she matched it perfectly! My flowers were gorgeous, and they matched my colors scheme. I had gone to other weddings where the bride's bouquet wasn't that large or extravagant, but mine was exactly what I wanted for about the same price (a little less) as what friend's paid for their smaller bouquets. The bridesmaid's bouquets were just perfect also. All the other flowers: boutonnieres, roses, tossing bouquet, corsages, etc. were perfectly labelled and organized so I did not have to worry about everyone getting their correct flowers that day, it was all done for me. :) Even though it was a very hot day (in the 90's) my flowers stayed beautiful for the whole day, which is all I could ask for. read more

She has a calm persona, and from the very beginning she understood my vision and exactly what I wanted. The flowers are gorgeous!!! is what all my guests keep saying. In fact, my guests were fighting over who would get to take the arrangement home! The banquet hall we had our bridal shower at told us they have fake flowers for centerpieces they could lend us. These fake centerpieces were really nice, but I just love real flowers. My family wanted to save some money and since I wasn't paying for the shower, they decided against real flowers. One week before my bridal shower, they changed their minds and now wanted real flowers on the tables!!! I felt so bad for contacting Palomino Floral with a last minute order, but they had great reviews on here and yelp, so i figured I give it a try and see if they could help me. I explained my situation to Heidi (owner) and she agreed to make 12 large floral arrangements for me. I told them my vision, and like magic, they made that vision come to life. After the bridal shower, My family said they were extremely happy with the decision to go with real flowers. And after seeing the quality of the product and seeing how happy these arrangements made our guests, my family realized it was money well spent. We now have hired Palomino Floral Designs to do my wedding flowers in October for 500+ guests. I have no doubt in my mind those flowers will be gorgeous too.
