Today, (5/22/2025 @ 11:50) I had a Dentist Appointment at Bearable Dentistry in Moscow, Idaho…read more While waiting in their South waiting area I observed an older couple attempting to work with the reception staff on a billing issue. The male staff member did not understand HMO, PPO, and Medicare and was unable to explain anything to the couple. The female receptionist was impatient, condescending and rude. There was one other patient in the waiting area besides myself. After approximately ten minutes of enduring the painful mistreatment of the older couple, they were attempting to leave and being respectful by saying thank you and attempting to walk out the door, all while the female receptionsit continued to be a very rude person. Those that know me, know I am not one for letting someone get hurt mentally or physically, bullied, or walked all over. As soon as the door shut from the older couple leaving, (in a conversational but firm tone) I mentioned to the dentist office staff that they were holding an embarrassing conversation with patients that they should have gone to a private area and attempted to properly resolve. Maybe even call the insurance company with them and attempt to get it resolved. But they instead held it for all patients to hear and made people feel uncomfortable and had the older couple leaving feeling humiliated. I then said if they tried to pull that with me, I would end up telling them to "kiss my ass". At that moment, an individual in blue scrubs who I assume was Bryan Schiavoni, firmly tells me not to cuss in his office, or he will kick me out. In a quieter conversational tone and a look of "Ok?", I said, "Kiss my ass?". He then tells me to get out of his office before he calls the police. I stood up, looked him in the eye and said, "that if he thought I was cussing, then stand by, you can all go F*ck yourself, cancel my f*cking appointment". The Bearable Dentistry inability to take constructive criticism and extremely poor treatment of an older couple ensured I am removing my family from their patient care and going back to the Dentist Office I love but had to leave due to an insurance change. I was able to speak with the older couple in the parking lot and they thanked me for standing up for them and told me that they could not understand why they were treated so poorly, and were humiliated by the way they were treated. So if you are in the Latah County area, avoid Bearable Dentistry.

I was diagnosed with a rare disease that went undiagnosed for years and unfortunately it rotted out my teeth. Because of such I have had to have alot of dental work. A few months ago I went to a chain place in town and they absolutely TORTURED me pulling out two of my teeth. Tortured to the point I still have nightmares due to the experience, so I went elsewhere and am so thankful that I did. From the get go Dr. Barney and his staff have been incredible. They are willing to work with me on everything and each and every member of the team is so very compassionate and understanding. I was actually shocked with how quick and painless my last extraction was. Dr. Barney was gentle, my tooth was out within minutes, in fact I didnt even realize he was pulling it I thoight he was still checking the numbing, I felt nothing. And besides about half a second of discomfort I didn't really feel the needles going in to numb the site. Dr. Barney and his asistants took great care with me, making sure I was comfortable, in as little pain as possible and didn't let me leave the office until my bleeding was under control. I highly reccomend Dr. Barneys office for all of your dental work, he has my patronage for life.

I went to see my son in Lewiston, Idaho, a 5.5-hour drive, for his 19th birthday. He had an…read moreaccident in the hotel swimming pool and chipped his front tooth around 9pm. Dr. Barney was able to get him that next morning. He took an x-ray of the damaged tooth and was able to put a temporary veneer over it. We were done by 1pm! My son will have his permanent porcelain crown put on next week. When I asked him what the worst part was, he said the needle for Novocain but then he said he didn't even feel it! My son does not like needles... Kudos to Dr. Barney. Wish he was closer to the Puget Sound; I'd make him my dentist too!

Unfortunately, I have to seriously downgrade my review of this dental office. I recently moved out…read moreof Pullman, and when I went to see a new dentist I found out what a terrible job this dental office did with my teeth. My sealants, done only a few months ago, are chipping off. Worse, they seem not to have cleaned my teeth before applying the sealants, and now I have cavities under the sealants. A filling done a not that long ago has cavities forming around the edges and will need repair and polishing. I'm facing a lot of work to fix this office's mistakes. It looks nice but they really messed up my teeth. They did give me a 1/3 refund on the bad sealants, but feel they are not at fault or negligent. They say they would wait and see with the cavities and that it might just be discoloration. The refund they gave me will only cover about 1/4 of the cost of the work my current dentist recommends to fix mistakes this office made. Proceed with caution if you go here, and if you've been here in the past have your dental work checked by another dentist.

I have had "difficult" teeth since childhood (am now in my 50s) and Dr. Chiang has been the first dentist to carefully track and treat my dental health over time and to fully address my individual needs. I have had procedures ranging from simple cleanings to a dental implant and have always been 100% satisfied. Dr. Chiang is amazing at keeping pain to a bare minimum (usually none at all) and he is always continuing his education on the newest advances. He treats patients with kindness and respect, explains and answers all questions - and see patients as people, and not just as "a set of teeth." I wish to acknowledge also Pullman Family Dentistry's Narissa and Lisa, two amazing women who are always kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable (and all the others have been super as well - I've never met a rude or incompetent staff member at PFD.) Finally, the people at Pullman Family Dentistry are all just lovely people with whom to interact. I do non-profit work in India and Dr. Chiang has always been a big supporter and has even made donations of dental supplies (e.g. toothbrushes, floss, etc.) to help the children who cannot afford such Western "luxuries." He did this without even being asked and without asking for any recognition in return - which is rare. (And, no, his generosity does not affect this positive review of his skill, but just goes to illustrate his general compassion for those in need.) I am so very glad and grateful to find such a wonderful dental practice here in Pullman, and am a fan for life of Pullman Family Dentistry.

The waiting area with the video games, movies and play area is very well done. In addition it is very clean. The staff takes great pride in keeping a clean disinfected area for the kids to play. They are very timely with their appointments and the wait time is minimal. When the kids go in to have their teeth cleaned they put on their sunglasses, lay down and watch a movie. The staff is very gentle with the kids and take their time to get their teeth cleaned. All of us with kids know at young ages they are not the best brushers so it's important to go to the dentist for oral health. It is nice to go to a dental office that cares about kids and goes to great lengths to make their experience delightful.
