The assistant came out of the office & told me to sign in & then she took my temperature which was 98.6. I return to my chair. The wait was about 20 minutes and I was called to go into the examination room followed by Dr. Layne. She wrote down the required information that I gave her. I was weighed & examined by the doctor. She told me that I had irritable bowl syndrome & that I was to keep a 6 week dairy of everything that I ate. She told me the food & beverages that I could not eat or drink. Dr. Layne sent me up to the Northwell Labs for blood work. I was relieved that I finally had taken action & I was in the hands of Dr. Layne who was calm and I definitely feel that both she and I will put an end to my misery.

They are the best and allow nothing, but the best care. They make you feel like a part of their family and give you that extra special care. Even if they find you healthy in their area of specialty's, but not others outside the gyno world, they go above and beyond to find other specialized doctors to get you the help you need. From the friendly receptionists right when you walk in those doors & the security team who locks up your belongings while you're in surgery to the nurses- lots of nurses- they were all very sweet, caring just simply great and my doctor- Dr. Gilbert- an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand & upper extremity surgery- he is truly amazing. Not to mention, they literally waste no time- I was on the bed, hooked up to an IV within minutes, waited a little while, anesthesia kicked in, the last thing I remember was being in the OR & woke up in the recovery room. The PACU nurse made sure I was OK, gave me graham crackers & water, and even helped me get dressed. I was indeed well taken care of at this Hospital.

I'm reviewing here because I've been to the Syosset office too and I didn't see an option to review the PJS office. Let me start by saying both Dr. Horlick and Dr. Carvallo are excellent, thorough doctors. During a routine scan Dr. Horlick found pre-cancerous cells I didn't even know I had that could have been big trouble down the line but are now no big deal. But this review is as much for the office staff as for the doctors. Both my wife and children have had dermatologists that even in an emergency it seems like you can't get into the office for two weeks. The first time I ever called the office (my father is a longtime patient and recommended Dr. Horlick) I was able to get an appointment for the same day for a rash I had, even though the had never seen me before. When I thought I was having an allergic reaction to the medication he saw me again, same day that I called. The office staff could not be more accommodating... the times when I've needed an emergency appointment they've accommodated me same day every single time. The doctors are great. The staff is even better. I'd give them ten stars if I could.
