Before we scrapped it and bought a new one we called a different repairman that was LG certified and he quickly diagnosed it with a broken valve, which he easily replaced, and now the washer is back to new. Had we not called for a second opinion we would've wasted hundreds of dollars on replacing the drum or buying a new washer based on the Gowen's repairman's wrong recommendation. not a happy customer.

They still took the time to look over the machine for potential causes of the non-responsiveness I'd experienced, speculating that it might have overheated and shut off. They left a sticker to remind me of the number if another issue came up and advised that, when the washer goes, she will be truly done (with the wood paneling, that washer might be older than I am). They were extremely kind and I appreciate that they came by to take a look the same day. I just wish I had checked the machine again before making a service call. The cost was $75 + tax ($81) for the visit, which is applied to the cost of any repairs that need to be made.
