However, once Eric R. settled in Manhappiness, I needed to find someone local. I happened to sit next to the owner of Gaia Salonspa on a flight, and she convinced me to see Hannah and told me the wax is intended for people with sensitive skin. I have been a regular client of Hannah's for three years for waxing, and tried a facial with her as well. She is very professional, makes me feel comfortable, and has a lot of experience and training. When I found out a few weeks ago that she decided to start her own studio, I was excited for her (and also because it is down the street from my house). Today I visited Hannah for my first appointment at Luminous Esthetic Studio, and it was a great experience. She has a private studio within the Allure Salon, which is quaint and decorated very well. After the appointment, I paid with a chip card reader connected to her phone, and set up future appointments which immediately were texted to me as confirmations. I hope her appointments don't fill up because I sing her praises, but she is awesome and I am so glad I found a great aesthetician who is literally down the street!

What really bothered me was the lack of communication. No one sat me down and explained what the extra services or costs would be, which would have let me make an informed decision. If I had known, I would have chosen differently. Instead, I left with a color I'm not happy with and a bill three times higher than expected. I also felt uncomfortable during the appointment because the stylist made negative comments about another client and her younger sisters. Overall, it was an unprofessional and disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend this salon if you're looking for transparency or customer care.

Everyone there is great also Tieler ! she is a work horse & will not let you leave her chair until you are thirst trap ready. This salon is so inclusive & buzzing with talent. I started coming here after everywhere else I tried caused my nails to break constantly and my skin to break out. I love the pedicure area in the back as it is tranquil and not crowded usually. I have been getting regular shellac manicures here which has saved my nails! They now grow and never break! Avalon uses CND nail products, which are great quality. I own several CND lotions and scrubs plus regular CND polish, which does not require a base coat. The gel though is not harsh on my nails and it is not terrible to get off. The prices are very reasonable too, and the atmosphere is nice. I am so glad I found Avalon, and it just happens to be very close to my neighborhood.
