Just to preface, I had taken my previous dog to this groomer and never, ever had an issue. Mona and her staff always did such a great job and were always pleasant to work with. My dog had passed away a couple of years ago and just recently got another doggie. Unfortunately, this new doggie had been through hell and back before I got her. She is a rescue, had been abused and primarily used as a breeder dog. (She's a mini poodle.) As a result of all the abuse my dog had gone through, she is a very nervous and scared puppy. I had given my dog a medication to help calm her down and informed Mona of all the trauma my dog had gone through. That my dog also needed time and patience to get used to a new place. I hadn't been home 10 minutes and got a call from Mona stating that they couldn't groom my dog. My dog had jumped out of the bathing tub, tried to bite Mona all because my dog was so scared, First of all, I don't understand why they wouldn't have my dog on a leash while in the bathing tub to help prevent them from jumping out of the tub at all. They didn't take the necessary time to work with my dog in spite of the fact that I had told them she needed time and patience. They even labeled my dog as "cage aggressive." She IS NOT cage/kennel aggressive. She's been in a cage/kennel on occasion while I've been away from home and has NEVER had a problem with being put in a cage/kennel. As good as they were with my other dog, I would NEVER recommend taking a dog who has experienced trauma to Pampered Canine. They don't seem to have the patience or understanding to work with dogs who have had trauma in their lives. Fortunately, I've found a great place to take my "puppy" to now who is willing to work with my dog. I am so fortunate to have found a place that has the experience to work with traumatized doggies. read more
