We waited over a month for a grooming appointment with a certain groomer. We didn't get that one and the we did get absolutely butchered our dogs fur. Two months later it still looks horrible! I would NEVER recommend this place for grooming! read more

This is for Pet Supply Plus in Concord , Missouri and groomer Hailey. I have Australian Shepherds, which by their breed are strong , but not mean or a problem. I made appointment for Bath & Brush for $47. (per website), Service Includes: * Bath with shampoo, conditioner & blow dry * 15-minute brushing (no detangling) * Nail trim * Ear cleaning, hair removal (if needed) * Scissoring feet & pad shaving * Sanitary trim. The previous items listed on PSP website application to make a grooming appointment. I brought my dog in and specifically asked if trimming hair was included and was told hair trimming was included. The groomers really had no idea what services their website said was included, for which, they are supposed to perform. But who cares about such minor details. When I returned to pickup my dog, I was told the dog was dropped off the grooming table and somehow the dog "self expressed" his anal gland (whatever that is) . I was told by groomer, this happened after the bath. My dog smelled horrible. Perfume was sprayed on my dog. This was Pet Supply Plus' solution to the total mistreatment of my dog. I was told not to worry, the dog was not injured. I was also told his nails were not trimmed . As the entire system of Pet Supply Plus reeks of fraud, I had to go to front of store, which is separate from groomers, to pay. I was charged another $15. for "grooming additional labor", to injure my dog. In summary, the management , by design, overcharges customers and hires groomers not able to groom dogs. I paid $62. to have my dog injured and returned to find my dog dirtier than when I brought it in. read more

The turn of events and treatment that I've personally received from the Pet Supplies Plus located at 5422 Southfield Center, St. Louis, Mo 63123 is downright disgusting and unbelievable to say the least. I'm the very last person to assume the worst or want to speculate in any situation. I'm also known to look at ALL PERSPECTIVES despite the obvious. I've visited this stores grooming department on a few occasions with our 3 Goldendoodles. Each time of drop off or pickup I'm rarely alone and probably with someone of different ethnicity, being a friend, my wife or another relative. Each time it was noticed and noted (typically not by me)the negative unwarranted treatment by staff. Maybe no greeting upon entering, no smiles from staff toward me, the sure fact of the difference of communication toward me and others that probably were of different ethnicity, or whatever the case and cause, it's flat out ridiculous..my pups grooms were hideous at times(pics are available). I still remained cordial and expressed my gratitude, appreciation and even tipped the groomer because that's who I am as a person. Mistakes/accidents occur right??? There's no mistake in the constantly ill treatment of others especially by store representatives that are suppose to be professionals. You may not like, for whatever reason, a certain group of people, not my issue, you're at work be professional. Here's the issue.. when you discuss, hesitantly your concerns with one of the owners, Pat Michaels, and to be assured that you, your family & friends concerns will be address with the staff members and that all customers should be treated fairly and with respect. Mrs. Michaels even offered some ideals for our pups next grooming sessions. Fast forward called..approximately 3 weeks after what I thought was great communication with the store owner, Pat Michaels , to be bounced around over the telephone until the store manager, Ryan S. comes on the phone to tell me rudely that the store will no longer offer grooming services to our doodles. Leading up to this call I know there was absolutely nothing leading up to this decision on my behalf, sure our girl pup , Chloe Marie has anxiety and need reassurance at times, other than me discussing my discomfort level personally with the store owner. I asked Ryan if he could put in a formal letter why I was declined service.. he declined! He goes on to say the reasoning is because at my request our pups shouldn't be placed in a kennel. Now I'm really confused and thrown back because from my initial appointment this was discussed and it was explained that more often than not, some don't want there fur babies crated and that this wouldn't be an issue. Racism and homophobia is real and alive. I am in an interracial homosexual marriage and needless to say my family structure is very very ethnically diverse as well as most of interpersonal and personal relationships. It isn't ever ok to allow anyone to mistreat you or sweep your concerns or issues under the rug because of the concern of rustling a few feathers. What I take from this situation is this.. I dare you complain of feeling uneasy or treated differently. Don't make waves and cause issues or just go with the flow. Well, there's many entities around that will address these issues on a broader range. My family and I have decided to utilize every avenue available to expose this type of behavior from companies such as Pet Supplies Plus. Racism, homophobia and discrimination has absolutely no place in our society..EVER! I know how feel and was made to feel after each encounter and for it to not be properly addressed and act as if our fur babies are the issue or even myself.. trust me it is not ok. Humbling yourself continuously or being complacent in situations like these time after time is simply not ok. Ever!! Year 2024 and here we are still dealing with underlying problems, situations that should no longer be an issue in our country. There's no place for it!!! These are just a few pictures I'm sharing, again I never ever approached the situation combatively. I simply listened to the explanations given... one groomer was honest and said her guard came off her clippers unexpectedly. I understood and even tipped her afterwards. SMH !!!! read more

The staff is friendly and welcoming and always excited to see you and your pets! Get on the email list and they send awesome coupons for a percentage off your whole purchase. I use these coupons for big purchases like dog food and dental bones. Such a great deal! I recently tried out their grooming services for both my dogs and was very satisfied! They did a great job and my dogs looked adorable! It was so convenient to book the appointments online and the staff provided text confirmations and reminders. I needed a recovery suit for my dog, as she had surgery earlier in the day. I preferred a recovery suit instead of the cone, for her comfort. I was not aware such an item is available. I called Pet Supplies Plus(another pet store did not carry them), and the manager said she would come out to my car(I have walking issues), to see if the one that she had available would fit. It was too big, and she had already called their Concord location, and was having them hold it for me. I went over there, and they had exactly what I needed, and helped me put it on my little dog. I really like this store. They are welcoming and helpful. However, there is an issue with the grooming. I've brought my yorkie here twice now. The first time was so-so. The second time was better. But they seem to have a problem trimming ears. And I specifically asked to have his ears trimmed. Why? Now I have to do this myself, after I've already paid to have it done professionally. ??? Oh, and his butt also needs extra trimming. The work that was done was fine. But there were some things that were missed. And why is it more expensive to grind nails than to cut them? It takes the same effort. I know this for a fact. I just feel like yes, I got a nice cut on my yorkie, but things were missed. And I got charged extra for nails. And that's BS. I like this store. But I'm not sure I'll use the grooming again. read more

Great place to wash your dog. They have a self serve station with 3 spots. They have 4 different kinds of shampoo to choose from and towels (2) for you to use. There's also a blow dryer. And they have waterproof aprons to wear while you work on your dog. They staff were all super helpful and kind. You can buy a punch card - 5 washes for $25. What a great deal! I visited Pet Supplies on 11/9/21 and was really impressed. They are very well stocked opposed to other pet stores that are light or no inventory. Their prices are competitive, actually a little lower than other stores. Very helpful sales associates. And it looks like I'll be getting coupons. . .bonus. Groomer-Was quoted a price of $101 for the grooming of two dogs. When I called to make the appointment, I specifically told them that I wanted the ears, teeth, and anal glands done. When I went to drop off the dogs on the day of the appointment, they wanted to charge more than I was quoted-$130. The groomer was very rude and said that the price of $101 did not include the add-ons. I told him that when I called, I made it clear of all the ears, teeth, and anal glands that needed to be performed besides the main service. He argued with me. Then I got the store manager involved. He said he would honor the phone price, but when we went back inside the groomer's room, the groomer refused to groom my dogs and another argument started. I told the manager to fire the groomer if he is refusing to groom my dogs. Of course, he stayed neutral and didn't help me out, so I left feeling that this was outrageous! I will never go into this store again for pet supplies or grooming! They just try to get you in the door and once your in, they up the price! Not right! WARNING!
