In May, my wife made a reservation to board our two dogs for a week in August. Earlier today, my wife called to confirm and was told they did not have the reservation. The gentleman my wife spoke with then proceeded to say how we had made several complaints over the past few years. I'm not sure how that was relevant to the inquiry. He said he would call back to see if he could still board the dogs but has not done so. Needless to say, it obvious they are not concerned about keeping us as clients so we will look elsewhere. I know the ownership of this establishment has changed over the years. Unfortunately, not for the better.

I took her to the vet and she needed ointment cause she kept licking it. I'm not bothered so much by the fact they cut her but I should have been notified, I emailed them through their website letting them know and it's been over a month and no apology, no communication, nothing. I'm only writing this because i happened to mention it to my nephew and he had the same experience at their Woodbury location twice and they never let him know. He had to get his dog a cone because he kept licking his wound that he received under their care. We won't be going back.

After several seconds of awkward silence I said hello and asked for help. Everyone besides a blonde woman put their masks on so I said hello specifically to her as a hint but she refused to acknowledge me or the mask. Two people assisted on my pups nail and cut her almost immediately so I had to stand there and watch her bleeding in discomfort. Not worth the $5 + tip. I really shouldve turned around and left but this was close to home and Im not in a condition to drive around looking for groomers who would take walk ins. Its obvious who these folks dont want to service so POC just stay away! Ive never felt this uncomfortable in a business and regret the entire visit...

Explained how my previous golden who has since passed came home once shaved to the skin! Was always traumatized over being caged. Well picked our girl up, looking and smelling beautiful! There are not many groomers who have experience with this process, and she is the best. I have had 5 Norwich's in my life. None of them liked to be worked on and Finn is perhaps the most stubborn of them all - but he actually loves Gladys. I cannot say enough good things about her - she is the best. Finn is my son, she is the only person I trust to be with him except for myself.

We have been bringing our dog, Buddy, to Groom by Harry for the past 2-3 years and, until this most…read morerecent visit, we had always been very happy with the service. We have never written a negative review before, which is why it is especially disappointing to have to write this one. Buddy is a fluffy, double-coated Husky, and his normal groom is a trim that maintains his natural coat. When my wife dropped him off, she specifically said that he should receive his usual groom. I was also contacted by the staff and confirmed that we wanted his usual groom. When we picked Buddy up, we were shocked to find that he had been completely shaved down. We had never given permission for his coat to be shaved, and nobody contacted us beforehand to discuss changing his grooming plan. I've included photos of Buddy from this recent appointment, along with photos from previous grooming appointments, so people can see the significant difference between the haircut we received this time and how Buddy has normally been groomed and naturally looks. We understand from the owner that Buddy had significant matting and that his coat was impacted. If his coat was in a condition where shaving was necessary for his comfort or safety, we would have understood that. However, we should have been contacted before making such a significant change, especially since this was completely different from the groom we requested. We also understand that dematting can require additional time and that there can be an additional charge. What was difficult to understand was being charged $300 for a service that ultimately involved shaving his coat without our authorization. If they needed more time to properly groom Buddy, we would have gladly brought him back another day. If the groom required additional time and therefore a higher price, we also would have been completely willing to pay more. Communication was the issue. What was equally disappointing was how our concern was handled afterward. When I reached out to the owner, I was hoping for some acknowledgment of our frustration and perhaps an apology. Instead, the response felt defensive and focused primarily on explaining why it happened and what we should be doing differently going forward. We understand that situations like this can happen, but as longtime customers, we expected our concern to be treated with more consideration. Your dog is part of your family. When you leave them with a groomer, you want to trust that they will be treated with the same care and consideration you would give them yourself. We had that trust for years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I sincerely hope the business takes this feedback seriously. We would have been much more understanding if we had simply been contacted before the decision was made to shave Buddy.

My concerns were addressed at the very beginning of each visit and the plan of action was always clearly communicated. To say that the people who work here love dogs is an understatement and it shows from the minute you are greeted at the locked doors (not all groomers do this and it is a huge safety concern!), from the way they interact with the dogs, to their commitment to animal welfare within the community and efforts to educate the public. it is a gift to be able to have Posh Paws and the staff there as a resource for the dogs in my care.
