Another neighborhood gem. I love the platt bread, roti skins (when they have). The meat patties are so good, let's just say I send them to Chicago for my brother because he is hooked on them. When I buy bread pudding, I love an end piece. It's nice a chewy, I love pie crust, pizza crust so you know what I mean. Tennis rolls, sweet buns, cheese straws, whew I think I need to make a run! Another establishment serving authentic Guyanese cuisine! This is my go-to spot when in the mood for Guyanese pastries. Their pastries are consistently made well and delicious. The crust is the perfect balance of flakiness and moisture which is the foundation that makes their pastries great, specifically... (1) The Pine Tarts are filled with real pineapple filling that's just the right level of sweetness. (2) The Cheese Roll is spicy and full of Guyanese cheese flavor. (3) The Guyanese Patties feature seasoned well ground beef, making them the perfect savory snack. The above pastries are my favorite but I will also recommend the Fudge or any of the other pastries. As far as breakfast options, i would recommend the Fried Bake with Saltfish which is served together as a combo plate. The beef patties are so good, seasoned well and the pastry is buttery and flaky. The cheese rolls are also really good and the cheese straws. Come here for West Indian bread n pastries They have the best cheese rolls out there and I'm an avid believer in Sybil's cheese rolls but no there cheese rolls is the bestest (should be a word) Usually there's a long line with exception of odd hours during the day. Pam's Bakery is the best bakery in Brooklyn, NY for all of the West Indies/Caribbean bakery's. The pastries are the best, fresh everyday and the bread is to die for. My favorite is the salads (AKA Red Cake). I have never never comlpeint about any of their food. If you want fresh bread for the holiday's go to Pam's at the corner of Church and Schenectady Ave., in Brooklyn, but you better go early. I ordered 18 roti on 2/25 to take to a family event so disappointed as they favored a starched shirt. I have never experienced this poor quality from Pam's. Whomever was the roti maker on the 25th needs retraining. Moving forward I would buy a sample to see the quality before placing a large order. read more

I went to Pam's bakery about 3 days ago. I love their fresh baked tennis rolls and bread... but they need better customer service.One person was behind me on the line .. and I was rushed to make a decision on what I wanted. While looking through the menu to see what they have. Even looking through the pastries.. I kept hearing "is that it" Repeatedly with attitude and intimidation to hurry and order and get out. 2 men behind the counter one just standing there and the other rushing you to buy and leave. the cashier sitting in a small box was huffing and puffing in frustration because as I follow along to what the machine is prompting me to do to pay with my card... and it's an error.. she's sighing and breathing hard like she has somewhere better to be. Here...again...lol...getting a cheese roll and a few pintarts for my coworkers. Pam is a neighborhood staple. The smell of fresh baked bread, bakes, saltfish pulls you in each morning and afternoon. Ive been coming here since i was a kid. The quality of goods never fail. However, they always seem to run out of cheese rolls!!!!. Do not repeat Do not think you are walking in and out of here on a Sunday. Sundays are when all the church goers and regulars are there. Prices are reasonable and goods are made with love. I give this place a 2 on customer service but a 4 on the pastries. When operating a business it is extremely important to cater for the customers. Not individually but collectively. Certain things take time and preparation I understand that. However if you only make certain items on certain days they shouldn't be sold out before or by midday! Dahl pouri(only sold on the weekend) & pholourie(only sold on Saturday). I'm always infuriated at the tone of voice that is used when purchasing food. If you do not start valuing your customers your stock will plummet. Word of mouth travels faster than wild fire! read more

I have not been here in a while but always enjoyed her butter loaf bread and tennis rolls with Guyanese/Trinidadian cheese with hot coco. Biting into a slice of PAMS butter-bread takes me back to my memories of home (Guyana). It's soft, buttery and pure perfection. Stopped by for some bake and saltfish which took nearly a half hour. Smh... I also ordered some pastries cheesestraw for $2 a bag with literally 6 pieces. Last I checked cheese only costs $2.99/lb and to make it worst they weren't even that great. I ordered some pine tarts which didn't taste that fresh either. Ended up reheating them in my oven for costs sake. Anyway I'll only come back here for the bake and saltfish. Oh... I ordered a black cake for my mother's birthday from this bakery and it was absolutely amazing. The absolutely best black cake we have ever had. My family is from Guyana and we are still talking about the black cake from this bakery. If you want the real deal this is definitely the place to order from.
