    Haitian Cake

I can't say enough great things about this Haitian bakery! I don't live in New York, but they went above and beyond to make sure my mom's birthday cake was perfect. I sent them a photo for inspiration, and not only did they bring it to life -- they made it look even better than I imagined. The ladies were so patient and kind, customizing every detail to match exactly what I wanted. When I finally saw the cake and tasted it... wow. It brought me right back to my childhood. The flavors, the texture -- it was so fresh, moist, and full of that rich, homemade taste that's hard to find these days. You can tell everything was made with love. Thank you again, ladies -- you didn't just make a cake, you made a memory. My mom was overjoyed! EVERYONE RAVED about the patties too

I went back & got a beef soup joumou so good it's nice and spicy & I believe they sell this on Sundays & on Saturdays they sell bouyon soup.

They didn't have any patties left but what did I expect it was late and patties go fast. As soon as you enter the door it smells wonderful and all the cakes were beautiful. They were so happy to help but sad to inform me that the patties were finished for the night wahhhhh. I'll give a better review next visit.

First time stopping in. Seen this place go viral on Facebook. I went in the morning so service was quick. Polite people behind register. I ordered a dozen mixed and one herring Pattie for my family to try as well. Total was $23.25. Pattie just didn't wow me personally. Taste like a typical Haitian Pattie.

Le Bon Pain did an amazing job catering my mother surprise party. The food was delicious. The cake was beautiful.

    Herring Bread Patties

This place fell off. They used to be good. Three weeks ago I brought oxtail patty, the bread was not cooked all the way and there was hair strand of meat. Today I brought herring bread patty, which they re-cook which made the bread really hard and dark.

I have been coming to this bakery for years it's been a while since my last visit. I went today and got great service no one was there and the lady that helped me was so nice. I got 2 large ak100 / Sodas / lemonade / patties / bread yes I loaded up and I'm so happy it's been a while nothing like a Haitian bakery!

Now, the name…read moremight throw you off at first--yes, Haiti is part of the Caribbean, but when I think "Caribbean," Haiti isn't the first thing that comes to mind. Still, as soon as I got close, I smelled that smell--the familiar aroma that only a true Haitian restaurant has. Not all spots capture it, but when they do, it's like an instant invitation. I was on my way to the nail salon nearby when I first caught the scent. After getting my nails done, I went home, grabbed my daughter (she loves Haitian food as much as I do), and said, "I think I found a new spot--we've got to try it." As soon as we walked in, she said, "Mommy, it has that smell," and I knew we were in for a treat. We ordered the chicken with rice and beans, served with sauce and fried plantains (banan, in Creole). Everything was flavorful and delicious--no complaints at all. The service was also very good. The lady who helped us didn't speak English, but that wasn't an issue--you just point to the size and dish you want, and it's all understood. There are a few different portion sizes available, and other staff members who do speak English, but at that moment, they were in the back. All in all, Amazing Taste Caribbean feels like a hidden gem, and I'm so happy to finally have a Haitian restaurant this close to home. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more dishes in the future.

Not spicy. Ehhh bon soir du riz blancs bla bla" (I got stuck at "bon soir? It's only 1pm, y'all jonesing for night I guess") Hot af inside. Food? OUTSTANDING loved the jerky texture and salted delish. Great prices. Griot was delish but a lil more fat pieces than other places. Idk many into deep fried fat chunks but I imagine a delicacy for Haitians Con: lotsa delicious looking food. No one available or willing to explain. Hot af inside even with full ac.

When I came back it was evident that no one was told to prep my food because the same guy I gave my order to finally whispered to a worker in front of me to prep my food . I ordered on DoorDash, which as of press time requires the comment field for some options. I didn't get the intended bean sauce and have no idea if this was user error, but the accompaniments I did receive were great. There were a couple of plantain slices and a ton of rice; the killer app is a potato salad with beets. The pate appetizer was enticing. The food is not over seasoned. The fried pork is delicious, there's obviously going to be fatty pieces, but we didn't mind, it's pork... fat is flavor.. Just don't eat this every day, it wasn't even greasy.. My first time trying Haitian food and I'm loving it. I enjoy food made this way. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. All the components in every dish added a nice flavor, like the onions in the fried pork... The potato salad was good too. L ate it all before I could get another bite. They took some time to make everything but it was worth the wait. Seriously really good food here. I don't normally even care for tostones but they fried it so well it wasn't dry at all. Nice and crispy on the edges.
