I attended a benefit in this space a few months ago and wow it is gorgeous. The open floor plan,…read morethe exposed rafters, the beautiful bar, the throwback corner door access. And I loved all the artwork on the walls. The space does not appear to have regular hours so viewings are by appointment only. Seriously with the revitalization of OCH/Dryades corridor, it's great to see such lovely historic buildings come back into their own.

I want to start by saying how excited I am for the development of the entire Oretha Castle Haley corridor. I think in a year it is going to be one of the hottest areas in the city. It took me a few minutes to actually find this place at first. My good ol' GPS just led me to the 1400 block of OCH and left me to find the actual building on my own. Just a note: it's on a corner and I took a picture of the door, so that you can be on the lookout. The venue itself is lovely. It's a wide open space with a nice bar and plenty of seating. There is gorgeous art on the wall and I like that there is a lot of space to move around. Big selling point: the air conditioning here works like a champ. A lot of times you get into these old buildings, and the ac can't keep up with the space, but that was not the case here. Plenty of windows let in the light during the day, which I am always a fan of; I hate going to dark event spaces during the day and feeling like I'm in a dungeon. There is a stage area where students for Big Class read poems. I presume that other performances take place on the stage as well. There are even some sofas for comfy seating as you enjoy whatever is happening on stage or just mingling with friends. I didn't get to explore it, but there's an upstairs area as well. It should be noted that the building is located on an extremely well lit block, so if you attend an event here at night you should feel pretty safe. I look forward to attending more events here and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more fundraisers that may be held here.

Good food, beautiful, quick-witted waitresses, creepy, mesmerizing interior and a beautiful garden/courtyard. Not too expensive at all. LOVED the indie rock playlist. It's like hanging out in a haunted old mansion with Neon Indian and Part Time playing. I can honestly say that it was one of the most pleasant dinners out I've ever had. Will be back when I'm in New Orleans and will probably stay at the hotel as well. *Restaurant review, did not stay at the hotel!

Built in 1883 during the city's Gilded Age boom, the mansion still carries the atmosphere of another century: towering white columns, chandeliers, creaking staircases, and that unmistakable Southern elegance that modern hotels can't really imitate. The real charm is the setting. Streetcars glide past the front porch all day, and locals still gather here for cocktails under the trees like it's a neighborhood tradition. Inside, the rooms lean historic rather than ultra-modern, but that's part of the appeal. You stay here for character, atmosphere, and the feeling that somewhere in the walls, a century of conversations still lingers. The porch alone is worth the visit. Order a drink, sit beneath the columns, and watch St. Charles Avenue move by slowly. In a city filled with loud spectacle, The Columns Hotel feels refined, cinematic, and timeless.

I passed it up the first time looking for it, as it sits off the street abt 50 feet, so passing it by is a definite possibility. The crowd initially was sparse, but soon picked up as the night grew on. The speciality drinks seemed appropriately themed for the location & the prices were good as well. The bartenders were very friendly & attentive. I was here for a party for my good, good friend Candi, but I'm told this is also a venue that can be rented out. I also hear this was a happening place during Essence Fest 2018 & understandably so as it's simply PERFECT. One of 2 overflow areas is adorned with over-sized Connect-Four games & other over-sized games for your entertainment. This night I was there a cigar guy was there rolling FRESH cigars BY-HAND!!! How sweet!!!! The other overflow area has a grassy lot with benched-seats for your pleasure. It's a little haven of sorts, definitely a breath of fresh air. I'll definitely visit again and have even logged this place in my head for a venue to host a soiree!!!

Very clean and nice. My 10 uear reunion party was held here and it was really nice . Parking was a little hectic due to trying to find the spot and the area had other events at other places so patking was a bit whack. This lil spot can definitely be a good hopping area due to other good places in the area.
