Today I finally checked it out and was so pleasantly surprised! Everything tasted so fresh and was so buttery and perfect. This bakery totally reminds me of the panaderias I've been to in Mexico! The conchas are as big as your head and are so soft and spongey! The loaf cakes were some of our favorite items. They come in a huge assortment of flavors. Each flavor was so moist and light we ended up having to buy a few to go for my boyfriends family. They do serve some lunch items like tortas, burritos, and tacos which I do plan on trying next time I'm in Delano. I will definitely return to this place and recommend it to all my family and friends. Check them out if you are in the area!

The S'mores Cruffin was equally impressive, with buttery, flaky layers and a rich chocolate ganache that was absolutely delicious. We got a chocolate and vanilla cake at 6:30am, did not refrigerate throughout the day and ate it late afternoon in Sequoia which was perfect. It's probably a good thing that this is in Delano and not in Bakersfield because I would be there all the time. It's nice to see Fil Bake Shop expanding. D'Cafe is fairly new, but the baker knows her stuff. I've had my fair share of goodies from here and I think my favorite is a toss up between the crinkle cookies and the newer item which is the empanada ube hayala. The empanada texture is more like bread versus an empanada to me, but the filling is what makes it really addicting. Everyone in Delano has had the lady fingers at Fil Bake Shop, but has everyone in Delano tried the ube lady fingers from D'Cafe? If you have not tried it yet, then you better get it before it's sold out for the day. Just when you thought the lady fingers was the best thing, they one upped it with ube. FYI if you've never been here before then just know they only take cash. Parking is a little bit crazy, but when you get to the front of the line then you'll be greeted by friendly aunties and uncles waiting to serve you warm/freshly baked bread.
