We got together 9 people to have this epic Chinese dinner. We told them the budget and told them to surprise us. Every dish came out wonderful. We ordered: 1. Crab/prawn hairy gourd soup 2. Stuffed Chicken wings 3. Black bean halibut 4. steamed green onion oil chicken 5. beef and green beans 6. fish paste with tofu 7. salt and pepper prawns and squid (is really two dish but they cooked together) 8. rice My favorite dish was the stuffed chicken wings and salt and pepper prawns and squid. I was amazed how tender the squid was. It was so delicious. Note that we ordered from the authentic Chinese menu. They are only willing to do this special dinner/dishes if you have 8 or more people and you have to provide them with one day in advance notice. At the end we also got the tapioca, taro and coconut soup. That was delicious. It was not too sweet. I highly suggest gathering 9 people for dinner here. They also have the Rupertees Combination plate dinner. Those are the Canadian Western Chinese food. I am not a big fan of that kind of Chinese food. The decor may look like a diner but at the back they have a special room decorated and is much more fancier. They only have that area open if you have more than 8 people. Also note that this is a neighboring restaurant. If you want tea or water you might have to get it yourself. But it is the culture here. If you need a take out box or more napkins, you have to get that yourself as well. Like I said, people knows everyone here so the owner don't mind you helping yourself to napkins and etc. The servers are very friendly. The matcha drinks were yummy and refreshing, and you can never go wrong with their classic donuts. I asked the young lady to pick the flavors she liked the most. I do have to give an apology to the local residents, though. Between all of us, we definitely overwhelmed the place! Thanks to the team for keeping their cool and serving everyone with a smile. The restaurant was clean. I think they added the kiosks since the last time I was there.
