Pancheros is better than chipotle. Let me tell you why. Pancheros has a simple menu and does not charge more for different types of meat. Their competitor charges very differently depending on the protein. Pancheros has delicious tortillas which are made in front of your eyes not pulled out of mystery bags. The ingredients taste fresher than those other guys and they always keep the food stocked and the work station clean. If you have never been to Pancheros then you have to give them a try. Between the service, cleanliness and food - each area was critically disappointing. Service was sloth-slow and emotionless. It's understandable that all fast food is suffering from labor shortages and the big sign in window made it clear they were too. Cleanliness was failing. Maybe due to shortage of staff but the location was dirty. Most concerning - food temperature, appearance and taste. Incorrect Temperature at a restaurant can make a person sick. I absolutely love pancheros and the food they have to offer. But this location specifically (Arden Hills, MN) has the WORST customer service. The workers here speak and yell to each other in Spanish while laughing obnoxiously throughout the entire restaurant to each other. it's the only thing you hear when you're trying to enjoy your food that was prepared by some unhappy, slow moving, "quit bothering me" - attitude workers. They have accents that are tough to understand sometimes, so you better not dare ask them to re-say something or their attitude will grow and continue to effect the customers that come into this location that want to enjoy the food it has to offer. If you're tying pancheros for the first time, go to a different location where the workers actually enjoy serving you. read more

We had this for the first time and I would say it's a little bit better than chipotle but along the same lines. Although I liked it I would rather support mom and pop shops near by. We each got a burrito I got mine with no meat and my mom got here with chicken. We also both got tacos I got mine with tofu and hers with carnitas. She liked her tacos more than her burrito and I was the opposite. My tofu in my tacos was SO salty it was really hard to eat. Overall I maybe would go back but it's not a must have, that being said everything was good. read more

We actually went to the one in Stillwater, MN but it's not listed here. First time to ever go to one was today. Food was bland, I believe it was all fresh - just very bland. We both got bowls, he chicken, I pork, different toppings and sauces. Between the two of us we got everything on the line except tofu, queso, steak, and guac. Thank goodness for the fresh, diced jalapeños! I got to a point in my meal I was waiting to feel "full" so I could stop eating. So sad. I typically find the silver lining and leave positive reviews. Before entering I expected it to resemble a Chipotle. Which is basically did, but seemed to have brighter colors. The menu is limited to tacos, quesadilla, burrito, bowls, and then your choice of meat. One thing I really think is cool/different is the tortilla is fresh and they have a compression machine where they make the tortilla right in front of you to see. Which is pretty awesome. I ordered the quesadilla. I was not satisfied because they only put cheese and my meat in it (chicken). I was surprised I was not asked if I want anything else inside of it. The chicken was basically flavorless. The only thing I really liked was the fresh tortilla. Other than that prices are average, and the food was just alright. Delicious. Surprisingly so! Ordered a Burrito with Carnitas, rice, green salsa Verde, mild Ancho, sour cream, corn salsa, cheese and cilantro-lime vinaigrette. The Carnitas were tender and flavorful. The tortilla is fresh pressed and sturdy. It does not fall apart. Every bite contains all your toppings, so it's a pleasant change from the other place that everyone is comparing this to. Also, Blue Corn chips. Salty, crispy, yummy. Got a side of their Hot Tomatillo red salsa, wow! Super flavorful, zesty and a good size portion. There are a few local burrito chains who really skimp on salsa cup sizes, but - not here! I won't name the names of the salsa offenders. Gimme my salsa and give it to me good. There is nothing more depressing than a bag of chips in dire need of more salsa. Ok, maybe there is, but in my Burrito Universe, I like what I like and I need what I need. Pancheros delivered exactly that, and more. And, they just opened up in my neck of the woods, so I'm equally pleased about that! Would give this no stars if I could. I observed the "manager" Reece being extremely rude to a customer. (And to me when I questioned him about why he treated her badly.) She ordered a kids taco and because the woman working there didn't understand English she made a small burrito. The "manager" Reece was the most disrespectful person I've came across in a very long time. He told the customer they didn't have kids tacos and then said sarcastically "goodbye". First, the good. This is in fact better than Chipotle in several ways. The tortilla is better, the place is less crowded, and it is substantially quieter. Also they give you enough salsa to go with the chips (if you pay for chips). Next, the not-so-good. The "carnitas" isn't--it should've called "shredded pork roast" or possibly "alternate white protein choice." Next, the "hot" salsa is pretty much just chipotles--the smoked pepper, not the restaurant--and very smoky and one-note. I found the place pretty uninteresting (and that includes the tofurkey filling option which is clearly pandering to ... someone. Not to me, anyway.) I debated on giving two stars, but for fast-food "Mexican" this isn't bad, it just doesn't stand out. One star in this space is of course reserved for Taco Hell. read more

Decided to check this place out as it's new in town. Plus we had a free burrito coupon. We got there about 6:30 and maybe dozen people ahead of us. It was a tad slow but they did just open. It has a similar set up to the infamous chipotle however there are a few different things. They offer queso that you can get on your burrito. I was tempted to but worried it would be too spicy for me. They mentioned shrimp but I didn't see or ask. Their tortillas start out in a doughy ball and get pressed and cooked right there, in the fresher presser. The biggest thing is they mix up everything in your burrito before wrapping it, I thought that was pretty neat. I got the carnitas burrito (much better carnitas than chipotle!) With the normal toppings but guac too (yes, it's extra). I wasn't wowed by it, nothing too special. And turns out I don't like everything mixed together, weird because I was excited about that aspect! I think some people might really like it, just not my thing. They also had bowls, tacos, and quesadillas. I think I might enjoy a quesadilla there since I don't think everything would be all mixed up, so maybe I'll go back for that. read more

We've been here a couple times since they opened: bowls and burritos are custom made - huge, ingredients are fresh. Queso for chips is super, super tasty & generous portion when purchased w/ chips.
