This restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of free parking

Craving Mexican food? Look no further, this place is legit!! Located in a strip mall, this restaurant has plenty of free parking! Inside, the music is loud, the drinks are plentiful and the service was great! The vibes feel like you have been transported out of Minnesota! They played plenty of bachata music! (It was a bit loud, but we still liked it). There are booths or tables for seating. The service to begging was slow... but it was a tad busy. Our server Jennifer was a delight! Very sweet :) The food: The complimentary chips and salsa were delish! Loved both salsas! There is a mild and spicy one delivered to your table. The quesabirria tacos are to die for! Soooo good! The consume is a little tomato forward but still perfect for dipping! My boyfriend got the chicken fajitas which were seasoned so well! We also got a tostada ceviche which had what tasted like a balsamic drizzle on it. This was not our favorite, but only because we didn't like the drizzle. You could tell the fish tasted fresh and the textures were good! Also don't miss out on the horchata! Refreshing and sweet! Definitely will be back!

    Lots of cute little opps!

Definitely give this restaurant a try! Do not be discouraged by the fact that it is in a strip mall. Once you step in, the ambience is quaint authentic! One of the servers was playing a ukulele! The service was absolutely perfect, and the food was fabulous. We ordered the authentic nachos, and a burrito. The nachos were great, not traditional nachos, but very authentic Mexican nachos. The burrito was ginormous and had lots of flavor. The margaritas... Nothing to say, but order a few more!!!! This is a hidden gem! I cannot wait to come back!

What an amazing little spot that we have been to twice now. The staff are very pleasant and the atmosphere is cozy. Can be a bit slow, but overall with great authentic food with a myriad of options this is a must go if you love Mexican cuisine.

Finally made time to try this restaurant. The pink colors caught my attention. Colorful restaurant, the pink neon lights and grass wall. We greeted at the door, server was really nice. My daughter was craving pazole and I ordered tacos. Pazole was good, they give you lime and chilli oil on the side so you can add to taste your preference.

We went to Frida's on Cinco De Mayo and loved it! Frida's is located in a strip mall and there is plenty of parking spots outside. We walked up and they had an inflatable sign and a bull riding ring. We didn't test it out, but saw a few kids go on it outside. Super fun! Our server, Emily, sat us right away. She was super sweet and very prompt! The food was also very authentic and tasty. I ordered 3 street tacos and my fiance ordered the fajitas. Would recommend! The inside was also super cute and decorated very nicely. Overall I would recommend!

TLDR - loved it. We tried Frida's little Mexico Restaurant because my husband was in the mood for Mexican food, and this place got some pretty good reviews. It is a very unassuming place from the outside, in the middle of a little strip mall. When we walked in on a Saturday night around 8:00pm we were greeted and seated right away. The place was not crowded, about half full, but we were there well past the dinner rush. The place was cute and cozy, lighting was dim but not so much so that you couldn't see the menu, etc. It was a spacious table layout, not crowded in at all - which I like. There are 3 TVs that were playing Hispanic music videos. The music was a little too loud for my taste, my husband and I could barely hear the soft spoken waitress. You can see the full bar at the back of the restaurant. The tables were pretty, each with different artwork, and there were real flowers on the tables. We both ordered a top shelf margarita, and they were very good. It tasted like they use their own house made mix with real limes, not a store bought mix. Instead of salt there was a Tajin rim on the margarita, which I thought was a nice change of pace. They brought chips and two types of salsa to the table, red and green. They were too spicy for my taste, but I am a wimp. My husband enjoyed them and said they tasted very good. Service was fast and friendly, the staff seemed to really know what they were doing. I ordered the taco salad with chicken and it was really good. The shell was pretty standard, but the salad itself was packed full of chicken and beans. I had to dig a little to find the rice and lettuce, which I was happy to do. My husband had the Carnitas platter and said it was very flavourful and very good. Someone in the restaurant was having a birthday and the staff made a big fuss, a lot of fun. They, the whole staff, came out with a slice of cake and several sparklers, and they were blowing whistles. There was a birthday song over the loudspeaker and they sang along, all of the patrons were clapping along. They also brought out a shot of what looked to be tequila for the birthday girl. They had the birthday girl take a bite of the cake without a fork, and very gently pushed the cake into her face so she had a frosting mustache. Lots of fun. When they brought the check there are QR codes to pay by ApplePay or Gpay. We paid with ApplePay, so I don't know what other types of payment are accepted. With food this good, we will be back.

This is now one of my favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities. The fish was cooked to perfection with a nice crisp and soft texture. The sauce had a good spice, but not too spicy and the octopus was a great combination to the meal. The service is OK the margaritas were amazing

I've been in this area countless times and never noticed this spot. Oh boy, have I been missing out! It truly feels like a hidden gem hiding in plain sight. The parking lot is shared with several other businesses, but we had no trouble finding a spot. The friendly server seated us right away, and we had chips and salsa within minutes of sitting down. We took advantage of the 2-for-1 drink special and ordered two margaritas. For food, we tried the El Pastor taco plate and the carnitas taco plate. Everything was fantastic! I'm always on the hunt for a nice ambiance and good food, and this place delivered. The space isn't fancy, but it's very nice and clean. We'll definitely be returning.

I live close by and was surprised I haven't heard of this place before. The server said they've only been opened about a year and a half. My new to go taco place, and honestly best tacos I've had in Minnesota. Most tacos when you get them, they're almost always under seasoned, but this place, the meats came perfectly seasoned and moist. Ceviche is the best I've also had so far in MN as well. I'm definitely going back when my taco cravings call me. They also have happy hour! BOGO beer! Please go support this place so we don't lose this restaurant in an area where there aren't that many great eateries, plus you won't be disappointed . Food 5/5, Atmosphere simple and great lighting 5/5, service 5/5.

Stopped by on a Sunday night around midnight, the server was so nice and attentive. She got our water and drinks right away, we all ordered the Birria tacos and they were FINGER LICKING GOOD. Good amount of meat and cheese and topped with cilantro and onion, the consume was tasty not watered down at all. We started off with chorizo queso which was also very delicious and you get a decent amount. 3 cocktails were ordered all very good and pretty big. I would definitely recommend coming here for authentic Mexican food, the music and restaurant vibes are it! Only thing I'd change is maybe having napkins at the table, did have to ask multiple times for napkins but other than that this place gets a 10/10.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I work with a diverse group of people, with many Ethnic backgrounds. And as much as I love (prefer) burgers and wraps, I have also come to enjoy rice and noodles. My doctor team had to work on Saturday and we get lunch "catered". Typical delivery options: JJs, Davani's, Chipolte, Vietnamese or Thai. But a new option was presented to the team: FILIPINO cuisine! My mind went "oh no, something new. (Insert grimace face). I know what to order at the regular places. Will I even like it?" On Thursday, I looked at the online menu and grabbed "A" (a Filipino coworker) and asked what things were. I'm not a fan of SPICY SPICY food (like Indian) and she assured me I was safe here. I asked about the noodles (glass and flour mixed with vegetables, similar to fried rice). She said they'll be dry but full of flavor. Lumpia are miniature egg rolls (thin, flaky wrapper). BBQ pork skewer (self explitory). I decided on Combo #1! Saturday: Holy smokes! This is my new favorite place. Let's start back with the noodles. Yes they are dry, but the catering box came with sauces (soy, sweet chili and HOT sauce). I added a little bit of soy just to add wetness to be able to swirl the fork, but the flavor is on point. The egg rolls..2 is not enough. Give me at least 6 and all the sweet chili sauce. Very addictive. The bbq pork skewer... If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was steak. I was delighted to taste smokiness from the grill. I could imaging eating this at a 4th of July picnic. Combo #1 was filling. Half of the office ordered the combo #1 and the other half did the Combo #2 (Chicken Adabo). How good it tasted was all anyone could talk about the rest of the day between seeing patients. I have no doubt we'll be ordering this again in the future. Again, I was shown that trying new things isn't always a bad thing.

As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance that's common in many Midwest restaurants, with rustic charm and a welcoming vibe. We were promptly checked in and seated at a cozy table that gave us a perfect view of the bustling restaurant. Our server, Monica, immediately made an impression with her friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for the menu. With so many tempting options, we took a little time to peruse, and she patiently guided us through the extensive selections, recommending some of her personal favorites. We decided to kick things off with a couple of refreshing drinks; I chose the rich and robust Negra Modelo while my girlfriend opted for the smooth and crisp Victoria. Both drinks perfectly set the tone for a fantastic evening ahead. As for the food, it surpassed our expectations. I ordered the carne asada, and let me tell you, it was absolutely divine--a medley of flavors that danced on my palate! The steak was perfectly grilled, tender, and well-seasoned, served with a side that complemented it beautifully. My girlfriend chose the chimichangas, which were nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. Crisp on the outside and bursting with savory goodness on the inside, she was more than pleased with her choice. The portion sizes were nothing short of gigantic, and the generous helpings made it clear that this place doesn't hold back when it comes to satisfying their guests. We quickly filled our plates and savored every last bite, knowing we might have to roll ourselves out of there by the end of our meal! Throughout our time there, Monica continued to shine. She was remarkably attentive, ensuring that our drinks were refilled promptly and checking in to make sure we were enjoying everything. Her warm service added a personal touch that made our experience even more enjoyable. One of the great bonuses is the ample parking available in front of the restaurant, which is always a plus. Additionally, there's a shopping center next door where you can pick up groceries at Aldi or grab some liquor at Merwin's. It's the perfect spot to round off the evening or stock up on essentials. Overall, our visit was a delightful experience filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and outstanding service. This place has certainly earned a spot on our go-to list for future outings!
