My friend suggested we try Pancho Villa because it's one of her favorite Mexican restaurants in the area, and it was actually pretty good! We went around 1-2 pm on a week day, and they weren't busy at all. Our food was actually brought out to us in less than 5 minutes. The guacamole dip tasted great, as well as the queso dip. My ACP was alright, basic chicken, rice and cheese, but the chicken wasn't the best quality, as it had some gristle in it (my only complaint.) That, and I wish the dish had a bit more spice to it, but it was what I expected for the most part! My husband got the chunky guacamole, and it was amazing. You must try it if you love guacamole like we do. Service was awesome, and we enjoyed our first experience here! They ARE open for dine in right now.

I would recommend their "Fajitas", although I love their "Shredded beef taco salads" and my boys love their "ACP's". Just great food!

Las Isabelas is a family-owned business that doubles as a Mexican restaurant and grocery store. The…read moreentire building has character with really lovely decorations that speak to the culture. I think that there is only outdoor seating (covered and not covered), so while it is not the largest restaurant (even less parking but since it is downtown, you can find other parking nearby), it seems like it has enough tables (which were really big) for most days. In terms of the service... we were waiting for our "waitress" until we found out that there is no table service (other than someone initially asking you for your drinks/appetizers when you sit down) as you have to manually go up to the cashier (friendly), order using a QR code to access their menu, and pay from there. So we sat there for a while really confused. But once we were told to do that (and to be fair, we might have not heard the full instructions clearly when we first entered), the food came out in a timely manner. I do think that the service could have been better; for instance, our waters were never refilled and we were not really checked up on during our dine-in experience. It might have been an off day since a lot of reviews praise their service. We got a variety of food, including Chips & Guacamole and Churros to share while for myself, I got the Burrito California and Sope. The Chips & Guacamole were really good! The guacamole was seasoned well and the chips tasted very fresh. We were also given a side of salsa, which was a bit spicy. I will say that this place does not seem to offer complimentary chips and salsa like other spots. The Churros were delicious! Very sugary and warm; I liked how doughy the inside was when it first came out. As for my entrees... I got the Sope with Chicken. This was my first time having Sope and I expected it to have more flavor to it. It tasted a bit bland, although the chicken pieces did help elevate the taste. As for the Burrito California, it tasted decent. It was stuffed with rice and potentially needed more fries, but it also lacked some flavor. If I added meat, that might have helped with the taste. I will say that the green sauce at my table saved my entrees as it really added a nice kick to everything. While I wish there were more spices in my food, I kind of liked that it was not too salty (in comparison to similar spots). Overall, I would probably give Las Isabelas a 3.5/5 stars. It did not wow me, but I think it is a solid spot to hit up in the area. They have a vast menu, so I could see myself coming back in the future to try other items.

Now to the cons which are unfortunately many more. As nice as our waitress was, she was either not listening or not attentive. I got a berry margarita which came with sugar (I was not aware) so I asked for it to be poured into another glass with salt. When she came back all she had done was put it in another glass with more sugar. My husband ended up having to go with a sweet tea and when he had to flag someone down to get a refill (who never came back) the waitress asked if he needed another. I explained that he had already asked someone for another sweet tea and I wasn't sure if he was getting it or not she went to get it. She then came back and asked was that sweet tea or unsweetened. We said again sweet. She came back and it was unsweetened. Then came my dinner. It came with onion and tomatos with the shrimp. The mushroom was good, but I have never before seen tomatoes and onions with the core. (See attached photos) It was truly an awful experience that we had to pay almost 60.00 for. Ambient TVs were on showing soccer.

We ordered an appetizer then ordered our main meals, for some reason all of the food came out at once and it was a little overwhelming especially when you're supposed to receive your appetizer first. I got the crispy fries with meat and guacamole, they absolutely drenched the fries in guacamole and it didn't taste fresh at all. There was just too much of everything on it. The appetizer was huge and if I would have known that I personally wouldn't have ordered it especially if I knew it was going to be served all at once. I got the chorizo quesadilla and there wasn't any cheese in it for some reason, I couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart, had to pick at it with a fork, on top of that it wasn't hot at all. Only the plate was hot which didn't make any sense, the chipotle sauce they added on top tasted absolutely like nothing unfortunately. The "ambiance" of the place felt off since it was almost completely empty and we had several different people come up to us and ask if the food was okay. Which is normal but it just got irritating since it seemed like everybody who worked there just kept on asking us. Check was about $60 including tip, to me personally it wasn't worth it. But overall it made great dogfood.

El Paso Mexican Restaurant - This is what the diced tomatoes were like. I can see one getting past the cook, but it seems this is how they truly dice them up
